Ok, and I don't care if this gets trolled or people think its in the wrong section.
To start I will summarize the whole post as a rant about communication. Not the whole post but the majority save for my last little bit about aps.
So I have been waiting to hear about the anniversary events and gifts this year just like the rest of the players. Its now the 7th and there is still no official page up stating the details. Or even acknowledging that there will be one. I had to stalk other threads to find any tidbit of vague info posted by miss. In short... That is fail. I love you PWE for making the game and all, but we players deserve to be given a notice. Anyway moving on...
As an addendum to the first part... Guess I am not really moving on but whatevs, communication about 2x. I heard through world chat rumors that 2x would start Friday. I again came to the forums but found nothing. Friday morning there I am logged in and alas, no 2x. Yes it started later that day but my point is: wouldn't it have been easy to make an official announcement BEFORE it started? Like "here ya go props... Have some 2x" ? Inst3ad I see we had to find out after the fact and then a mod mentions on the forums that an announcement will be posted next week. Wow, vague again.
I wish this would improve.
lastly is not really about aps, its more or less a rant about a catch 22 that exists in pwi. You need raps and uncannies to make any decent end game tt based gear. yet the a-holes making squads for nirvy are all already 5 aps +12 just looking to pack their wallets with more profit, while those of us who need the raps and cannies to make our gear can't be invited because we aren't already 5 aps. Um... Alrighty then. Its so bad that a growing number of players are forming squads for just your average run of the fricken mill bh100 and asking those who reply to link weapon. To which i reply **** you and blacklist them. This kinda **** is sc,rewing over the players who still play for free and enjoy the game as a game and not cashshop with mommy and daddy's credit cards and then act like their cash bought rank 9 +12 somehow makes them the most leetsauc,e player ever to exist. If you want people to stay in the game a.nd enjoy teamwork like the old days, stop ripping ppl off and alienating them. Its dooshy and fail. Ijs.

There is no need to cashshop if you can learn how to catshop.
Additionally, most of the heavy cashshoppers are not children running up their parents' credit cards. Most of them are adults with jobs that pay them enough to allow them to have disposable income that they choose to spend on this game. These people have more money than they do free time and prefer to spend their game time doing something other than farming.

And honestly, you have to question what kind of parents would allow their kids to spend 1000$+ on a game? Because honestly, if the kid is getting that kind of allowance, most likely he's in a situation where he never has to work a day in his life anyway.
But yes, there's plenty of actually decently wealthy people in PWI. The myth that every heavy cash shopper is either a child using their parents' money or someone who sold their car or house to fund PWI is nonsense.
And let's be honest, the standards that most f2p players have for "cash shopper" are actually hilariously low. I've repeatedly been told that I am a cash shopper because I have R8. Well guess what? I recently gave away an R8 to a friend to keep them motivated at 100+ and my own sin is a 4.0 base Sage with refines from +5 to +10, with the average being +7. And I haven't spent a cent. And I know I'm still small time compared to some of the more notorious merchants. And people who farm a lot.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.

I wasn't saying all rank 9 +12 cashshop. Just stating the easiest cliche I could in reference to my point. I have rank 8 atm, and working on rank 8 for another toon by farming. Anyway it was just me venting. More power to you if you are rank 9. Its awesome gear. But just don't pick on the little rank 8s or lower who want to run BH with you (or nirvy--which I get it... More speed is less time spent farming) just try to include at least one less fortunate player from time to time. Help used to be plentiful in game. I get that there aren't many new comers anymore and that most or a lot of lowbies are just alts. But still...

Ayup. Adult here. For me, its called working 50 to 90 hours a week. Very little free time; plenty of disposable income, and gobs of sleep deprivation. Farming? LOL...umm, no thanks. Besides, people that spend money, allow the freeloaders a free ride.

I disagree with only 5 aps +12 nirvy problem, I started nirvy when I had 2.22 aps with friends maybe we can't run under 15min but we did it even if it was like 30-35min if you squad with friends and get used to each other and smart enough with debuffs then its even go faster and faster now I'm 5 aps and I farmed all my gear without problem, I'm not goin' with peeps who wcing for weapon link either even if I have the weap what they want cuz I did 5x5aps toon + cleric nirvy slower then with my friends sin+bm+veno+cleric. Btw for magic class I got known psy in one of biggest faction on server who never spent a $ on the game but have all nirvy+10 as well cuz a good faction running 2gether with their members without asking for weapon link.

Agree with the farming part, it's come to the point where anything but Nirvana is an elaborate waste of time.
TT? Most mat prices crashed a long time ago. the ones that are still worth it are either rare gold mats, or are from bosses that will rip any average squad a new one. Then at the end you have maybe $4 total in materials. To split between your squad, too.

Same here. As a result I haven't set foot in Nirvana since about a year that I've been 100.
I only have to do caster Nirvana 3 times a day (4 times when I get 5k Corona prestige) at most, why care if it takes 10 minutes longer?
I even have the equipment most of them ask for, I just don't want to put up with that BS. I was hoping it would be easier with a faction. But regardless of what those advertise, it's usually every man to himself when it comes down to it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Yeeeeah no you ask for a link of weapons cause you don't want people with no refines trying to squad you. Cause seriously at level 100 if you can't afford to +3 your weapon you fail sauce big time. That being said if I'm playing on a sin I don't want to be taking aggro when we don't have a dedicated cleric I will die so yes refines are important cause you have to out damage me as a tank. When I ask for you to link your weapon its not cause I'm an elitist jerk, its cause I don't wanna take 4 hours in one run.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

The problem with non-APS people who QQ like this, is that they sit around watching WC trying to 'get in' an elite squad. Buy some teles and form a squad, because you're hardly the only non-APS looking to go.
Some of these 'cashshoppers' that get bashed have farmed hard in previous 2x, forming their own squads and getting what they want. Also combined with learning to merchant to make more coin. Maybe they don't want to take a freeloader who is too lazy to form their own squad after they farmed months to be able to duo/trio it.
There's two sides to every coin.
I see people on DW forming specifically non-APS/elite Nirvana squads in WC. I don't understand why people can't form their own rather than sit and cry over not getting in a squad.0 -

Experience of Nirvana differs way too much for the well-geared compared to the **** geared. I'm not saying the bosses should be boring, but seriously the seals they added to the bosses was a terrible idea.
A really good squad will kill the bosses before 1st seal, and I'm sure enough of you know that's no lie. The only thing the seals do is make it more miserable for everyone else.
All this discourages inclusion of lesser geared players even more, because no one wants to deal with annoying runs. I guess the seals were an attempt to curb the speed at which people farm, but not only did it fail to do that, it made the instance just less enjoyable for everyone.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

Well, technically, it's true. Without the CSers, PWE makes no money. No money, and the game gets shut down.
Although I would have said "free players" as opposed to "freeloaders", since "freeloader" implies that the players should be paying money but just aren't doing it since they can count on others to pay their part.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing for free, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with CSing. As far as I'm concerned, they're just two different playstyles that depend on what a person has more of: time or money. Neither one should feel morally superior to the other, and neither is a good indicator of whether a player knows their class. F2P merchants are just as capable of powerleveling and slapping r9 on a class they know nothing about as a CSer.
In my personal experience, whether a person CSed or merchanted/farmed all their stuff has little effect on whether or not they're going to turn into an elitist a-hole once they have good gear; it's an equal opportunity type of thing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

LOL! Yeah I'm so part of the entitlement problem. You misread my point entirely.
I am an adult who works hella hard and when it comes down to it, I prefer to spend my hard-earned money on more responsible things. That said, I HAVE CASH SHOPPED before. Doesn't mean I spent thousands and didn't have to work for any gear I have. That's entitlement? Yes I make my own squads, and for BH100, especially. I do this because I aim to be part of the solution and not the problem. I am not one of the elitists who alienate those who are so inferior in gear to them. For example: I was once in a Warsong squad--All fine and dandy until the leader invited this arrogant ***** of a sin who decided to check everyone's gear out and then openly bash this poor BM who could only sit there in disbelief as the sin assumed a god-role in the situation and demanded the BM be kicked and replaced. His reasoning was "If you want to do BH100, you need to get lvl 100 gear!". That, you should be able to agree, is dooshy.
Blah blah. It doesn't matter. Anything you say on here will be taken out of context or somehow twisted to suit someone's quick need for attention & one-upsmanship. Enough chatter. Back to playing.

I totally agree with this thread, I feel the same exact way. Us players that are always here, I personally look to the forums daily to see whats going on for the week. I hear people in the game saying about 2x but no post in forum, why is this? Shouldn't there be someone who post these things, I mean I remember the days when things were posted a week before the date (like they should be so people can plan accordingly) Now it is, well if your here during the time it happens then great, if not oh well. That sure is not the way to run a buisness. In fact its a good way of pissing people off and making them go elsewhere, well unless you are wanting playing to leave and not care like the company obviously doesn't. I am personally tired of looking at the forums daily cause I know there will be nothing new posted (except for NCAA football posting) Really Mods...really, plz do your job! PWI should be advertizing there Anniversary and should be as excited as your customers are but it sure seems to not be the case. If you don't care, why should we? Keep it up, and we might just stop caring at together.

Wow someone who was able to articulate exactly why I cash shop in this game perfectly. I work 60 to 80 hours a week at a physically demanding job and when I get home I have to take care of any matters in our faction that need attention and then after spending an hour or two working through all that stuff. I normally have enough time to get a BH and MQ in before its time to go to bed.
As for the 2x drops and Anni. Yes I feel that it was handled a little badly as it was responded to inside of another post about like 5 or 6 pages in. So if you were not following that post you would have no idea where it was.
Now as for when I do farm nirvy...... I could care less about aps as I try to take my faction mates along. Hell I even take magic classes through for their 99 key quests if they ask me as long as they are willing to do the best they can. Yes I am an aps build barb, but no I don't feel that anyone else in the squad should be required to be. Last night I had a 2.86 aps sin in squad. The squad was Me(4aps), wifey (5aps archer), Sin (2.86aps), Veno, Cleric, and a non aps sage BM. We still managed to finish in about 15 minutes which isn't bad at all. I have never asked anyone to link me their weapon and when they ask me to link mine I link a low lvl bow and tell them I am 7aps with it. I just try to avoid non faction squads completely.
I guess the point is this: Join a faction and get people who are not aps, but know how to play their toon to join you in nirvy instead of QQing about it here. It may take a little longer, but it will pay off in the long runb:bye0 -

Well I do feel for ya there...I hate it when ppl think of themselves as superior just because of gear. Heck ppl were doing these bhs and instances with lesser gear a long time ago.
Generally, a jerk joins ur sqd...kick him. Simple.
Make use of your blacklist feature. Should have told the leader kick the sin or you would all leave and find a new sqd.
Don't knw how it is on your server, but on RT factions are really helpful and even small ones stick together and do dailies and nirvy together. So maybe tht's the problem...ppl need to find similar individuals in the game and make friends lol0 -
They screwed up with the Anni event. This is pretty clear. The only thing they can do for us now is... nothing. No one will be happy regardless of the solution. So, we learn to live with disappointment, as this is what life is, most of the time.
APS farming... whatevers. Either you submit, or you find another way.
However people pay or play for their gear, doesn't matter.
On the one hand, WCing to link weapon to join a squad, any squad, makes you look like a dumbass and your squad is probably not worth joining. Since I don't really fancy dealing with elitists who will freak out the moment something goes wrong.
On the other hand, when you've worked/payed for your uuberawesome gear of whatever type it is that you like, surely you have the right to be a little more particular about who your squad members are.
If you're not 5.0 but all you want to join are 5.0 squads, or all you invite are 5.0 people, you're the worst kind of hypocrite.
The real issue is contribution. Who will contribute the most to your squad? Either by dd, or support, people naturally think the better the gear = more contribution. Not so. Someone who is a team player, but only has +3 is worth more than a +10 who acts like they're the only one in the squad who matters.
But, nobody cares. This is mostly preaching to the choir. The ones who are sensible already do this, and the ones who aren't will just continue to be ignorant.0 -

On the one hand, WCing to link weapon to join a squad, any squad, makes you look like a dumbass and your squad is probably not worth joining. Since I don't really fancy dealing with elitists who will freak out the moment something goes wrong.
On the other hand, when you've worked/payed for your uuberawesome gear of whatever type it is that you like, surely you have the right to be a little more particular about who your squad members are.
If you're not 5.0 but all you want to join are 5.0 squads, or all you invite are 5.0 people, you're the worst kind of hypocrite.
The real issue is contribution. Who will contribute the most to your squad? Either by dd, or support, people naturally think the better the gear = more contribution. Not so. Someone who is a team player, but only has +3 is worth more than a +10 who acts like they're the only one in the squad who matters.
But, nobody cares. This is mostly preaching to the choir. The ones who are sensible already do this, and the ones who aren't will just continue to be ignorant.

So is 2x on or not?
I only play this game when there's a 2x event going on, nothing interesting here to do anymore but I still like to come back once in a while and level my alts during a 2x event. Since I have school and all I checked the main page last week and also briefly the forums, but as I didn't see any posts about 2x or other events I figured that it wasn't happening. So I'm a little confused, is something really going on, and why wasn't it posted in the news section like usually? Cause if that is how it's going to be from now then I'm moderately annoyed -.-
In conclusion, if anyone knows if 2x is really on and how long it will last, please post a reply, thank you.0 -
Yeah, 2x is active now--ever since Friday (9/7/2012). Some mod posted in some thread that it was going to be for "a few weeks". Apparently, it's not officially posted here but it was posted via the PWI Facebook page. >.>

Ok, and I don't care if this gets trolled or people think its in the wrong section.
To start I will summarize the whole post as a rant about communication. Not the whole post but the majority save for my last little bit about aps.
So I have been waiting to hear about the anniversary events and gifts this year just like the rest of the players. Its now the 7th and there is still no official page up stating the details. Or even acknowledging that there will be one. I had to stalk other threads to find any tidbit of vague info posted by miss. In short... That is fail. I love you PWE for making the game and all, but we players deserve to be given a notice. Anyway moving on...
As an addendum to the first part... Guess I am not really moving on but whatevs, communication about 2x. I heard through world chat rumors that 2x would start Friday. I again came to the forums but found nothing. Friday morning there I am logged in and alas, no 2x. Yes it started later that day but my point is: wouldn't it have been easy to make an official announcement BEFORE it started? Like "here ya go props... Have some 2x" ? Inst3ad I see we had to find out after the fact and then a mod mentions on the forums that an announcement will be posted next week. Wow, vague again.
I wish this would improve.
lastly is not really about aps, its more or less a rant about a catch 22 that exists in pwi. You need raps and uncannies to make any decent end game tt based gear. yet the a-holes making squads for nirvy are all already 5 aps +12 just looking to pack their wallets with more profit, while those of us who need the raps and cannies to make our gear can't be invited because we aren't already 5 aps. Um... Alrighty then. Its so bad that a growing number of players are forming squads for just your average run of the fricken mill bh100 and asking those who reply to link weapon. To which i reply **** you and blacklist them. This kinda **** is sc,rewing over the players who still play for free and enjoy the game as a game and not cashshop with mommy and daddy's credit cards and then act like their cash bought rank 9 +12 somehow makes them the most leetsauc,e player ever to exist. If you want people to stay in the game a.nd enjoy teamwork like the old days, stop ripping ppl off and alienating them. Its dooshy and fail. Ijs.
i tried once to be mr nice guy with a normal low to no aps squad...sadly to say i had to dump it due to...ok it prob would have taken a hour with those members on one run lol.
x2 is about speed and production,business.Sorry to say but its fact.This game is like washing hair with shampoo... Rinse and repeat if desired.
