Low-level money making

Hello , i play in "Lothranis" server and i started about 3 days ago , i didn't play so much so i am still at level 13 because most of the time i was searching on forum for a good guide to make money and how to be familiar with the game and i learned a few things over those days .

So i read 2-3 guides on how to make money and i have a few questions about the ways of making money ingame.

1) What is grinding exactly? I saw the Begginers FAQ but i still don't know what does that mean.

2)Which materials are the best for gathering and selling and what is their price (an average price)

3)I heard that around Archosaur ,that i haven't reached yet but i guess i will today, there are monsters the give good items for started levels to make money. Is that true?

Any other details and tips would also help.

Thanks

That depends a bit on the context. It generally refers to just killing monsters for XP, Spirit, coins and items -or- it refers to doing your normal quests ... which involves killing things in exchange for XP, Spirit, coins and items.

If you're doing quests, look to see what the reward is. Some quests don't reward any coins or items. If you're worried about money, you might want to skip those quests.

Your normal money-makers from grinding are materials (Mats) used in crafting. Some drop from creatures (oils, thread, etc.) and others can be farmed off the ground (herbs, wood, stone, etc.) if you have a pickaxe in your inventory. The ones that drop from creatures sell for more than the ones that be farmed off the ground, but it's easier to find lots of the ones on the ground.

You will also get Dragon Quest items (DQ). They used to sell well to the NPC vendors (they no longer do), but they still sell decently to other players.

If you look at item descriptions, it will tell you whether an item is used for crafting or for Dragon Quests.

The average price is server-dependent, and I'm not on your server. The best way to determine the price is to check the Auction House and a number of Catshops to figure out the range that other people are selling for.

You might also find the occasional gem shard. You can sell them at the following rates:
    Shabby shard: 400-500 coins
    Rough shard: 1200-1500 coins
    Blemished shard: 3600-4500 coins

If you sell them at the low end of the range, they'll sell faster. At the high end, they'll usually take longer to sell.

They're probably referring to Hay (dropped by the rhinodrakes and later by the antelope pups). It is selling rather high at the moment. It will probably be your best moneymaker from level 20-30.

I sell my stuff by setting up a Catshop when I'll be away from the computer for a long time (overnight or at work). You have to leave the game running while the Catshop is up.

    Other Tips:
Don't spend money if you don't have to.
Don't buy items at low levels. Use quest rewards and items dropped by monsters until you get to higher level.
Learn which of your skills are the best skills and which are the worst. Buy the best ones and skip the worst ones until you have more Coins/Spirit.
Only use teleports when necessary. The cost of teleports adds up fast.

Cashops are otherplayers stores you can buy their items or sell items to them depending if they are buying item you have. You can set up catshop by clicking E and going to trade button click and set your price on what you want to sell
