noob question.. can GM or mods or ppl that know explain to me ?

just wondering.. if server shard is like partition for database.. n got problem.. is that mean our character that saved in broken shard will gone (worst case) or sum gear item will vanish ?

im imagining its like hard disk bad sector.. n make my data gone in that case

    b:surrender i remember when the last expansion come out.. 2 of my friend lost her fash n his gear (weapon n flyer).. is that (maybe) as the result of that shard problem ?

    No, it's extremely unlikely that will ever happen. RAID reducancy coupled with multiple server fallback redunancy and backups are normal business practices. RAID structures will compensate for items like bad hard drive sectors and allow for hotswapping in new replacements without loss of data in a live environment.

    I can understand a lot of the attitude when it comes to their customer service amongst other things, but I am sure their servers are one factor they do not ignore. In this industry, what is on that server is their entire product. There is no more business without it.

    Easy explanation - Sever Shard = Server.
    What we call Heavens Tear server, it's basically Heavens Tear Shard.
