Simply because it did not result in a 15 second stand off of "smack smack smack dead" as you are accustomed to, does make this fight anything less than spectacular.0

Without watching the video I'm going to make some assumptions
1. obnoxious music
2. triple sparks
3. relying on tidal
4. "dramatic camera angles"
5. Weird *** picture covering chat
1.)The music, while repetitive, was perfect for the fight at hand. Serving as taunt both before and after the posting, it was an excellent piece of work which en-captured not only the spirit of the nature of the fight, but also that of the player himself. Yes, after 20 minutes on loop its gets a bit annoying, but, we must remember that SyntherosX recorded the fight as it happened in its entirety, including the music he had playing at the time. I am sure no one expected it to last as long as it did, and its rather difficult in the middle of a PvP match between high level players to tab out of game and select a different song. DEAL WITH IT. You have a mute option. Use it or shut up.
2.)Triple spark is a skill learned at 89 (for those of us not to lazy to stay up to date with our cultivation) and, like any other skill, should be utilized to its fullest extent. I will never understand why everyone cries about this skill. Assassin's having the ability to stealth, is another skill that is brought up for conversation all the time, and this, at least has some basis. There are few ways to counter such a thing (barring pots and new found morai skills, and a few genie skills), but the triple spark is a skill that can be utilized by every class. Stop crying and learn to play the game. As far as SyntherosX goes, he uses the triple spark not a trump card for dealing damage, but as way to dispel negative effects upon his personage, and to reap the benefits of sage triple spark, namely the damage reduction.
3.) Tidal protection is an assassin's self-buff skill. Expecting any true assassin to PvP without it (or its sister, focused mind) is like asking a barbarian to PvP without his(or her) hp/attack buffs. Game mechanics. Don't like, go back to your beloved *********.
4.)Dramatic camera angles are difficult to pull off in the middle of such an intense exchange of skill and wit. None are found here. Invalid.
5.) SyntherosX leaves his chats, damage logs, skill bars, hp and mp bars fully open for viewing on every video he shoots. Why, you ask? Because he has nothing to hide, unlike some others I could mention, but wont.0 -

Let me start by pointing out that this fight was never intended to last for 20 minutes, no is it posted out of sheer narcissism as you would lead yourselves to believe. This video was posted for the SOLE PURPOSE of shaming Armani. Not for losing his 1v1 (although that in itself was a sweet enough victory) but for backing out of the agreement that he himself put forth.
That being said, skills have a little something called a COOLDOWN. Perhaps you have heard of them? No? Let me refresh your memory. A cooldown time is a time that begins when a skill is initially used, and denotes the amount of time remaining until the game will allow a repeat usage of that move. Stuns and seals are an excellent time to run down cooldowns to make use of your most effective attacks. And, as previously stated, self buffs are rather important. Stunning an opponent and then using the time where they are henceforth unable to respond is an excellent time to rebuff. Its brains. You should get some.
As far as his effectiveness goes, he won. That's proof enough of his effectiveness for me. As far as watchability...(is that a word? o.o) No one forced you to watch. On top of that, if you cannot find the value in watching someone who truly knows and understands the class he plays PvP, that is your own problem. Playing one class over another does not make you the best, this is true. You become the best by acceling at your class, which SyntherosX clearly does.
Yes, I rock a DoT in my weapon, and I'll tell you why. I prefer to hit HARDER when I am not in spark, then to hit a little bit harder when I am in spark. As is the case in MOST sin fights, I do not remain in spark through out my PvP experiences. Please refer back to your game mechanics before you come at me with that, thanks.
Oh, and btw, both my psychic, and his, are sage. Loser.0 -
