well the title says it all, the game laggs more n more after every expansion are they even going to do anything about it? Its been so long since something really important got fixed.
We play the game everyday and the lagg issue should be fixed if you can please report to the devs in china and push them to fix it i bet everyone would be happier.
And no i dont have any issues with the computer if someone is wondering i have a amd radeon hd 6650 graphic card 4 gig ram and a amd phenom N950 Quad-core processor.
Anyone who knows alot about computer parts and keeps an eye on everything knows that theese parts should handle perfect world perfectly fine lagg free.
Oh i had to edit real quick and say, its not the internet connection either cause ive got 100mbits internet connection, fiber so thats not the issue either.

if its the guy that made a list about the internet connection, then hes list wouldnt help here. because its not the connection.0
-
Um ur dreaming, i been playing a fair while now and its always been laggy and theres always been major rubberbanding. Sooo happy dreamingb:chuckle'I Would Rather Poke My Own Eyes Out'0

No the game didnt lagg this much long time ago, but they should consider this as a huge issue since we're playing this game daily.0

I don't have any problem with lag on highest settings and my setup is pretty outdated (Q6600, GeForce 8800GTS x2, 16GB RAM). If anything I'd say you need more memory, 4GB is pretty low nowadays.
But I do have problem with the client constantly crashing on me out of blue.0 -

The game can't even use more than 4 GB ram. b:surrender0 -
I don't lag at all, i have no problem with the quest with timer, no disconnection problem at all.
When i had my laptop i was laging and dcing now since almost a year i have my new desk computer and i have no problem at all, so yes i think the connection and computer can be the issue.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

When either the game is truly dead, or when you update your computer proper.0

My laptop is 5 or so years old and no prize: only dual core, ATI Radeon 3650 card. The only time at all I lag in the game is if I am running two clients and both are in the area of the lucid NPCs after lucid quests have started. Even then, I can run about without much problem and have no issues with quest timers.
So while I understand for the people complaining about lag that your internet and computer might seem fine, at the same time if it was on the game's end we should all be having this problem.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I won't bother posting my list at this time.
I will tell you this...
If you haven't done a traceroute to the server at the time that you're having the lag, then you haven't looked into it and any blaming of the servers at that point is just stupid.
Post a traceroute, or stop talking about them fixing the servers. It's not the servers.
It's either
1. Something on your PC.
2. Something on your home network.
3. Something on your ISP.
4. Something happening on one of the many hops that the data passes through between you and the server.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Your 100mbits connection means absolutely nothing if something is going on between your PC and the servers. Your home network can be perfectly fine and still that means nothing.
Do a traceroute.
Besides its clearly not the servers at all, since there's a whole lot of us running 2 clients perfectly fine with no lag whatsoever. Pretty sure the server isn't singling you out personally.
And you know it when the servers have problems because there's ppl running here to demand 2x to compensate for it b:laugh0 -

For me, my data packets make about 15 stops before they hit PWE's ISP after leaving my house. That's 15 individual points that can potentially cause a delay in packet transmission and can create the lag everyone enjoys blaming on the servers.
Anyone that is halfway computer-savvy can figure that one out.
Unfortunately, the sheer number of these fail threads that pop up proves how many computer noobs there are attempting to play MMO's.0 -
Ok i did the traceroute, at start i got 10 ms and on the right side it was only 1 and then i got 1 ms 3 times, then it keept going up to 108ms and stopped there, is that abad i have no clue about anything when it comes net connections0
-
10ms on your very first hop is bad. That indicates a problem with your connection at your PC.
Your first 1-3 hops should be below 3ms (depending on your network setup).
If you would care to post your traceroute along with information on exactly how your PC is connected to your local network, and then to the internet, I will help you troubleshoot it.
Overall 108ms isn't bad. what's your in-game ping when you did the trace?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I did it again instead and checked the ping i went to west arch lol.
First hop was 1 ms 2 ms 1 ms
2: 1 ms 2ms 2 ms
3:3 ms 2 ms 2 ms
4:68ms 217 ms 7
12: 216 ms 102 ms 102ms
13:108 ms 115ms and 109 ms that was the last one and i had around 330-430 ping it was going up and down, in west arch
oh i had to edit, im using a router , with wifi but when i did a check up on how fast i recieve something similiar to this but between my computerand the router i had 8ms, which a friend of mine told me that its fine0 -
My in-game ping is always between 100 and 300ms which is pretty normal seeing that I'm on the East Coast playing on a West Coast server. Only lag I have is around densly populated areas, then again it's visual lag and not internet lag b:chuckle0

What you're describing there is pretty normal. Hop 12 is a little high, so you're getting some latency from there. In-game ping will always be higher than actual because of the delay in the way the protocol is handled via the client. (It's not an actual ping per se.)
Wireless will always have a delay with a data transmission like a file ect. because of the way it's broken up and the router round-robin's the signal. It used to cause serious issues with the client's encryption protocol, but they've made some fixes. You'll still see more in-game latency with a wireless connection than you would with a wired connection, no matter the speed or quality of signal. It has to do with how the data is transmitted.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

that 100 mb connection you're seeing isn't your actual speed...it's how much your network card can handle...most of the lag you're probably seeing is graphical lag anyways....wanna check to see what your ping and downstream/up stream actually is go to www.speedtest.net0 -

its your connection..why? Because i say so..and what are you going to do about it? Nothing..why? because ill own you. This game is like washing hair with shampoo... Rinse and repeat if desired.

It will be fixed ...... um lets say......... ahh... soon. That's what a pwe spokesman would say. Players know the answer is never. With each update they cram more updated effects into a out of date client which causes it to lag more and more. Yes people with better systems and connections will experience less lag but it's still there only less noticable. Banding is caused by the lovely bit of coding introduced around the time of age of spirits as a anti speed/jump ****. Guess what else? That bit of anti-**** coding adds to the lag as well.0

Did you read this topic at all, beyond the first post/title?0 -
So many lols and not enough trolls.
Some people just don't understand what server lag is, much less what lag can come from. The worst offenders being the ones saying there is no server lag. Aside networking issues regardless of where it originates most lag comes from either server, client or a combination of both. Most of those issues deal with the introduction of code either in a fix or added feature that has caused undefined behavior. The reason it is undefined as it has caused a strain on one or more subsystems even if said code does not even call these routines. It can be a cascading effect that will never be seen or noticed until the server is put under a normal or heavy load.
Teleport lag-
You can not say teleport lag is the result of network lag when nothing else in the game is effected during this lag. If you really had network lag while teleporting to an area or instance chat and everything else would be effected as well and this is not the case.
Network Tools-
They only tell you what maybe the problem when you use these tools not what happened X amount of time ago. They surely will not tell you if there is any instability in the client or server. They are general purpose tools to begin a investigation on a possible problem.
Personaly i believe this lag problem has to do with the update prior to this last 2x even might be the new teleport cash shop item added to the boutique.
During the last 2x I was in several squads with different (confirmed) routes to the server that experienced a 2-5 min lag time of entering several of the high level instances. Even TW started late during 2x and at least one time after it ended. This lag still exists but I have personally not seen much of it.

Yes, because people really need 900+ dex or 1000+ magic just for the lulz0 -
in a different thread SylenThunder gave everyone a good general list on how to track down a possible lag problems.
however, when a lot of people witness a severe increase in lag-related issues it becomes implausible to dismiss it an individual problem. since the last doubledrop, there has been an increased number of lag-related problems:
-teleport lag, it takes several seconds untill someone gets finally teleported.
-Nirvana Rally Stone in nrivana not appearing and required relogging. bad enough if one loses buffs or even expensive base-buffs. but especially annoying when it goes unnoticed in a caster nirvana, because not only the squad loses all the nv keys but also the limited nv talismans.
-increased complaining about timers in cube getting stuck at 00:00, which also requres reloggin to "fix" it and all to often this results in a death or the torture of a hp charm.
-exceptionally disruptive is the stuck timer in TW after the use of a Revelation Potion. the only way to use one again is to relog.
i have heard many many of those reports and complaints in my squads, my faction, from other factions and suffered some myself. so please do not dismiss it as an "your pc and isp is just ****".

instead of shutting down pwi for good, the management decided to cut down the capacity of the infrastructure of pwi. result: described issues.

The server lag isn't that bad. The most annoying thing are the fps drops in mass pk and tw and you have them even on high end hardware because the game engine is outdated b:surrender0
-
Im guessing with the declining playerbase and loss of revenue PWI has chosen to save money by throttling bandwidth usage rather than eliminate and merge servers completely.0

I'm still waiting for them to upgrade the engine for pac-man so I can play that on my high end hardware.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

Somebody is trying to be funny I guess. New GPUs get bottlenecked by the CPU because the engine is poorly coded. A GTX 680 will sit at like 5% GPU load when playing PW. I think the engine still only supports 1 CPU thread lol.0 -

I got this selective lag.
Inside instance = lag. Outside = no lag.
It boils down to always having lag when doing something that would be alot easier without lag, and always lagfree when im doing stuff being laggy doesnt matter.
