At least they ask you. I used to just get random faction invites. Which is why I also made my own faction (though I upgraded mine to 3 so I could have a personalized icon). And just out of curiosity does anyone else find random squad invites rude. I get them all the time when I'm out questing. They don't say anything, just send you an invite. How hard is it to just ask if a person is killing the same thing as you and if they want to squad up? It's kind of like calling someone to ask if they mind if you visit instead of just showing up at their door and expecting them to put up with you.

I often get the worse case. People who just drop on your head, start hitting your mob, then send squad. And I'm not sitting around right at the spot an auto path takes you to lol

Yea, that one or people who come around to loot your loots and then send a squad invite are the worse case I have ever found, too. lol

Also, in my opinion, it's better and more polite if people talk or communicate first before sending the invite, either faction or squad invite.

    This ^^

It is what I did to stop the random faction invites. If you are in a faction you cannot be invited to another...not that way anyway.

    For squad invites:

U (System page) > Game (Third tab) > Basic (First section) > Ignore (Second line)

Put a check mark there and in theory you are done.

However I have never had it activated and I don't think I will, because a few friends of mine that do like to hang around squad eachother upon login, and then we all go off to our corners of the map and do dailies, grinding and that sort of things without getting on eachother's way while still being able to chat openly.

    Hope it works for you.

Well random whispers to me get the auto-response "You want buffs? I like foreplay first"

Tends to stop whispers except for the inquisitive bunch.

I find that most of the random squad invites I'm getting are from ppl who are too lazy to kill their own mobs, while most of the r9 ppl will just invade your space and ks you like if you don't even exist.

I get this most of the time also. Someone sends squad invite, I accept thinking maybe they are having trouble with mobs (especially barbs on the mag runner mobs in Morai), then they proceed to stand around watching me kill until I dismiss squad out of annoyance.

As far as random faction invites, like a few others have posted it is easiest to just shell out 100k and make your own faction. I have several alts that had no faction and I put them all in one that I made just to avoid this. I even added my catshop after an annoying amount of random invites while setting up shop (lvl 1 cleric with "shop" in its name... how desperate can a faction get).

No, I find it ruder when they drop down and start one shotting all the mobs in sight, especially when you're both doing something like a morai or OHT daily. Usually casters (especially clerics for some strange reason) will ignore invites or whispers and go out of their way to take every mob in the area.

Random invites for dailies are fine. Expecting someone to write you an essay of request, when they simply want to speed the quest up for you both is silly. Heck, I don't even care if they want to leech for a daily and afk because they find it hard, by all means tag along, I'm killing the mobs regardless after all.

Yes, writing an essay of request is absolutely silly.
No one will ever write an essay for a simple squad request.

However, saying: "Hi, wanna party for *inserts the name of the instance here*?" is not silly at all.
Typing the request as I mentioned above can be done in less than 2 seconds while writing an essay of request can take more than 1 minute.

I notice this with BMs and clerics mostly. I mean seriously? learn to play with others? I try hard to leave at least about 30 meters of space between me and the next guy. I had a cleric and a bm land on me during the 1 hour daily in morai and start KSing and luring a group. i waited till he came back with about 6 mobs and triple spark AOEed them all dead. they both left after that >:3 Clerics think that just because they can, they should aoe your pull off you (farming spiders) and bms are obsessed with running through a group regardless of who else is nearby.

stop being lazy and stop acting like your gear is on fire so you gotta run around taking aggro to put it out. you either send me a squad invite or you find your own space...look a couple mobs of the same type 30 meters to my left go stand there! I promise there are more than just the mobs where autopath took you.

I personally always soloed my mobs quests for the fact i was getting more exp alone when i was low lvl.

Now i prefer do solo cause as caster i normally have time to kill 10 mobs while the other person kill 1-2, i just don't like do all the job.

Anyway mobs quest are not hard it can be easy done solo, often people sending squad invite are the lazy one that will kill 1 mob the time u do 10 cause they run everywhere doing nothing or speaking.

This too. I often find the people who get on my nerves most are the people taking all the mobs in the area (when there aren't other areas for the mobs). And you're killing one or two trying to not invade their space. And then they claim you're just being lazy and don't want to kill your own mobs. No, I'm trying to be respectful and not attack any of the mobs you gathered. But you're gathering most of the ones in the area, so maybe we should squad up.

I still whisper the person though, need x too. But they then take like 10 minutes to respond while they do other pulls. And by then we've wasted like 20 minutes where you've slowed me down when we could have sped each other up. I understand the frustration with that, which is why I tend to accept and then ask why they invited me. I can understand the frustration at that.
