Cheap but Efficient Tanker GW

Hello, I have a veno level 64, and I messed my statics and I wasted 74 points on strengh and dexb:embarrass. Comprehensively, I am having problems with soloing my bount hunters, so, I was thinking about a cheap but efficient way of building a tanker GW.

I decided ask for help before I spent the few coins that I still have. Shortly, I want to buy and maximize the skills Tough (more defense), Boost ( to compensate my poor pet cure), Threaten (less phisical atack to my enemy) and Shriek (no more magical atack from the bosses). For this, I will erase bash, icecle and roar. This will be okay or will be another fail? Perhaps, I should level up another GW to try these pet skills and maintain my normal GW with roar and bash (keep in mind that I can`t play so much as I would like because of my universityb:sweat).

Thanks in advance

My GW has had threaten put on it, and the other default skills left on. All leveled up, it makes a pretty decent physical tank. Once you get used to the threaten-tough-threaten combo, that makes almost a minute of the pet taking very little damage.

I would not leave the GW without at least one of bash and icicle; you'd risk it losing aggro too easily. If you do remove every bash-like DD skill it's got, leave roar on to regain aggro with --- only remove roar if you're confident your pet won't lose aggro by accident.

I can't speak for shriek, I don't think I've ever tried a pet with it. Personally, I'd be more likely to try either of the pdef- or mdef-lowering skills, pierce and howl.

Honestly, though, if I were you I'd work on getting a reset note and fixing my stats. The smaller ones don't cost all that much, and getting an income source that's large enough to pay for such things would help you in so many other ways as well.

Fix your stats and leave the walker , by endgame all that you will be using is DD pets. Even a Wanderer can tank mobs and is much useful in a squad

Leave the skills as they are

You need Icicle to generate aggro

Roar is necessary in case your pet loses aggro

Tough is necessary for hard bosses

if you want extra skill ignore both Boost and Shriek , and add Threaten. Boost heal is minor , shriek has to be maxed to be effective. By lvl 80 they are better pets and Walker doesnt worth investing

Your first priority is fixing your stats . Str should be capped at 55 max depending on endgame gear , dex at 5 , and vit should be either 5 or 35-45 to be an effective build all the rest to magic.

If you want to invest in a pet , try merchanting for a legendary or a bear. DD pet sare good till the lvl 101 Ancient Derjans Hatchling becomes available , all the rest is cash that is better to be spent on maximizing your skills

your soloing problems are due to your build and not cause of your pet. All generic walkers can tank with zero modifications, but not all venos can heal them

In all honesty, your best bet for BH's is to not try to solo them. For your level range, you'll have one of Wyvern or Zimo every day. I've seen Wyvern 1-shot a fully buffed, blessed herc after he uses his curse debuff. What would be much cheaper and reliable in the long run than attempting to pimp out a GW to tank him would be to find another veno to run with. Even if you both just have stock GWs, you can use one to tank and have the other one act as a back up once the primary tank gets debuffed. Watch him curse your pet, stow it to purify, and resummon. To make it a little easier, the skills Lenie suggested will be very helpful.

Zimo, while he doesn't debuff, has a very hard hitting magic attack. Tough, Shriek, and Protect are helpful, but Protect is far from cheap. You could also look into an eldergoth to range tank him. Again two pets and aggro bouncing will be far safer than soloing. Better yet, find a cleric and tank him on the veno (not the pet).

Just don't expect to solo all of your BHs. While some of them are possible, others are too hit or miss to make it worthwhile.

plus, soloing bh's is a waste of time... you can do it once or twice if you want to "prove" yourself

After BH39, you're pretty much out of luck if you want to solo your BHs if you have don't have a herc regardless of build. For Wyvern, you need a ~63 herc with the 63 heal to solo; a walker can't solo until the 90s (unless herc buffed) from what I've heard.

For Disaster, you can solo heal an eldergoth with the 73 heal, though I didn't really try until close to 80. Gluttonix and Brute Drake are easier heals than the other 3.

At lvl 63 Fb 59 is in-soloable with a range pet.

at 73 , you can do it much faster with a squad , plus the drops at BH59 are not good compared to BH69.
