I just now worked something out... Ocean orbs went on sale June 20th; I sold my last one July 10th. That's 20 days, and I made 50 golds' worth of profit, for 2.5 gold per day or (a conservative minimum of) 3.5 mil coin daily on average. And I'm a pretty mediocre merchant. I dunno what a level-8x or even mid-9x can grind that'd make as much profit, especially not with as little time invested.
Rider packs aren't selling much lately, and the profit margins are dropping below the 5% mark, which means it's barely worth the bother of constantly adjusting my prices downward to keep up with the competition. I'll probably sell off the ones I've got, buy gold for most of the income, then do something else until they're are about to go off sale again. I can buy up a few hundred on the 7th of next month and see if they'll go for a decent profit margin after they're off sale.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -

I dislike it when merchants come and flaunt how much profit they made as an absolute figure.
It's rather meaningless if you made 50 Gold profit on an investment of 500 Gold.
And besides, 3.5m/day isn't that much.
I, too, can bring up that I made over over 100m profit in a week. And that wasn't even a one-time thing. Heck, I constantly pass opportunities to get a larger profit over a longer period of time because I dislike waiting.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. And even less would I go by Olblaze. Please, take a second to read a person's username.
If you see b:cute be sure to take a second, calm look at anything I said.0 -
I'd say that in your level range firefox are worst grinding, though they may be 3 or 4 level higher than you are.
They have nice drop and aren't that hard to kill.0 -

I went from 190 gold to 240.And besides, 3.5m/day isn't that much.
As I said, I'm really only a pretty mediocre merchant. I know lots of other folks made much more than I off the ocean orbs, but I'm still happy about my own profits because they far outstrip what I can get from grinding or farming.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -
the ingame curreny is COINS not gold...
most merchants are just legal scammer b:lipcurli am waiting for you my little flagcarriers b:kiss0 -
Regenbogen - Lost City wrote: »the ingame curreny is COINS not gold...
Gold is the currency for the cash shop, which exists in the game, hence it is an in-game currency. I prefer to keep most of my capital in gold whenever it's not invested in merchandise, because I'm mainly a cash shop merchant and usually buy my merchandise with gold, not coin.
(Question for the philosophers: how many currencies exist in this game? I say at least three, possibly more. What's your opinions?)most merchants are just legal scammer b:lipcurl
What makes you say that?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0 -
Currencies? So something that is a common medium of exchange...let's see :
Tokens, ToBL, coins and gold. Can't really think of anything else.0 -
ToBL, yes, that makes four. I've never traded in those myself, so I completely forgot them, but you're right.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Heaven's Tear alts: KenLubin, Sou_Hon, JudyCaraco --- level 5x chars.0

Also raptures and uncannies seem to be treated as currency on various servers (people trading X raptures for various pack items/gear). Same with big notes (or on the much rarer occasion ecstasy/excitement cards), though I hesitate with those somewhat since they're literally coin in item form and, unlike tokens and nirvana crystals, have no purpose aside from being NPC'd for coin.0

Thank you Silvychar for my siggy0 -
note: I never understood the fascination people have about grinding on spiders, unless your a cleric with purify and metal damage I don't see the point.
One way to make money at your level is to grind for DQ items and sell them in the auction for 2-3 times the NPC price. To do this you have to use a Buy Now price only people in a rush will pay high prices, same thing for mats. And it helps to sell them in lots the same size as what people need to do the DQ quest. I think higher level DQs need lots of 20.
So head out and grind until you get 20 DQ items of the same kind from mobs your level and put it in auction with a buy now price of 200K. This will get you around 400k-500K an hour. Obviously below minimum wage. In Mexico.AKA PermaSpark, Heartshatter0 -
Downside to selling DQ in AH as a lower level player is the fee.0
