Question about rank gear refining and transferring.

If you refine rank gear (any rank), is it possible to transfer the refine to other gears, such as TT/HH, lunar, etc?

I only ask because I know rank gear is bound to the character..so was not 100% sure about how transferring from rank gears work! Could not find any threads related to this and did not see anything in the wiki.

    No. You can only transfer refines to gear of a higher level. And if you could, it would still be cheaper to wait for a refine sale...

    PWI is greedy like that.

    Well, I am getting rank 3/4 robe and pant, so transferring the refine to gears of higher grade is possible, correct?


    By the way, just a little side note, PWI does not control the structure of the game. The refine characteristics are universal to all versions of Perfect World. I have never used rank gears before though, so it is something I am new to.

    WTH? PWI definitely controls the structure of that game. Refine transfers are different here than any other version of the game.

    I guess you didn't understand the part, so I'll expand on it:

    It will cost you just as much or more to transfer a refine than to refine from scratch. So effectively you're paying to have a refine wiped from one piece of gear and paying to refine a whole new piece. That's probably close to 2x the cost because you lose the benefit of the refine that's being removed...

    I really do not think you understand the hosting and mechanics of Perfect World. Well, in any case, I am not gonna waste time arguing this.

    My question was not really in regards toward waiting for a sale or what is the best time/way to refine. All I wanted to know was this: Will refine on rank gear be transferable to other non-rank gears? E.g: I have grade 7 ranked robe top, will this be transferable towards higher grade gears?

    I'll say it again. Refine Transfers here are different than any other version. This is because PWE doesn't want you transferring refines for cheap.

    All right, well, I will take that to mind when I decide to refine later on. My initial question still remains unanswered, but I will just take my chances in-game, lol. Thank your for your response.

    Refining is cheaper than transferring

    Yes it would be transferable but it would almost certainly cost more to transfer the refine, then to just refine the new set of gear
