Is it possible to change a characters name?? My Wife don't like my barbarians Name and Wants me to delete it but it has my nine tails anniversary mount on it and I don't wanna loose that mount.

No you cannot change a character name.

I'm surprise that someone with 440 posts on the forum don't know that yet, tell your wife to deal with your name, you can't change it.

You can't have your name changed anymore, but you can buy an account stash stone and switch the mount to a different toon.

Only way to have your name changed is for someone else to submit a ticket saying they are offended by it.

I would LOVE to be able to change my archer's name -seriously! LOL I was actually toying with the idea of deleting her and rolling a different one so I could change her name the other week; but decided it wouldn't be worth the effort/time involved. She's level 73, so a name change stone or scroll would really rock!! (my picture isn't my 'right' one either). How do you fix it??

And i totally disagree with you, people will use it to take advantages on other people and will use it for the bad things.

Do you image how the scamming will become popular if people can change name? People will scam, than change name and scam again. (and with all the money they will do by scamming they will be able buy scroll to change name every 30 second if they want)

You will see people come here complain to put it back, cause people will scam run of everything, ex: someone do a multi run of nirvy, at the end scam and keep all drops, buy a scroll change the name, good luck to find the guy after and warn your friends/faction to don't run with him while you wont be able to give a name cause the guy will change.

So what you gonna do send a ticket? Do you imagine how many tickets they will receive about scam everyday and the fun they will have to find who changed name and etc...

Server merge still can pass, but change name scroll would be the worse idea ever.

actually on a game i used to play that had a name change item and after you changed your name people could still whisper the name you had before and actually whisper you. it was also worth like $20 but worth it if you really had a problem with your name.

The actual case is the wife doesn't like the name, when someone create a character and give him a name normally people will use a name they like.

What his wife will do IRL if she don't like her boyfriend name? Ask him to change? No she will deal with it.

Well My GF before I met my Wife her Characters name is in my Barbs name. So it's kinda hard for her to just deal with it. But no I play quite a few games that allow Name change thats why I was asking

Most people who want a name change are interested either in scamming or they want to sell their account.

Not all of course but those would be the biggest customers of the service by far.

I see the biggest customers being people who like to use this as big eharmony but hop from player to player. Of course there also plenty of reasons for legitimate name change. EG simply dislike your name because you picked something stupid, just smashed your face into a keyboard, had a trolly name and realize you were trolling yourself. ETC ETC

Scamming? Uhm people still gonna be wearing the same armor with their old name all over them.
If it's a low level toon doing the scamming then they can just make another blueby name all day and everyday.

Here's a plan.
Make it a a non-trade-able quest reward at level 100.
If you get a character to 100 you get one shot to change the name.
No account stash.
And Duke what's his face Blackie shouts it out!

Last one isn't a bad idea. Id love to change my bms name for sure. And a one chance at level 100 not only means you got to 100 finally but if you hate your name you can change it. I have a few 8x I like playing but hate the name wouldn't mind leveling to 100 if I got to change names.

I wish GMs could change offensive names into absolutely ridiculously cute ones (the game really is open to all unruly behavior... is it now catered to extremely rich, obnoxious teens or bad kids at heart?), but it seems they cannot do that. So hoping to change your name in game seems to be sadly impossible. b:surrender

I personally learn to don't name my chars about hubby/bf/other players, some people marry and divorce every week, do you imagine them changing name every time?

hun, some people have more than one set of gears i just say and some people have each piece of gear craft by different persons, good luck to remember every one gears on your server, all sins are copy cat wearing all the same gears, you gonna remember each gear of them and remember craft by who? On my server there's many people wearing stuff made by the same person cause the person sell a LOT of gears in AH.

For people who don't know when you delete a char on every gears he made the name disappear, so if someone change name maybe that will do the same and all people will walk with all gears without name and again good luck to recognize people from each other when all will have no name gears.

While I can understand the appeal (tired of people assuming my cleric is Spanish and was also told her name was not a nice word in Portugese, even though I thought I just made it up), I really don't think it could work anyhow. Someone has already posted before about their character's name being changed (was it Venus?) and the trouble it caused. People couldn't invite her to squad and her name showed up both ways etc. I'm sure if something like a name change scroll were introduced they wouldn't bother to fix those bugs first, which would just result in a pile of tickets from people whose characters were then messed up from having changed their names.

As someone else suggested: buy an account stash, make a new barb on the same account. Stash the mount and other stuff.

Might have been me. I used to have a faction mate who had her name changed but people kept randomly seeing her with the new or the old name. And the old one didn't work for anything.

So yea, I can understand why they don't offer it anymore. It just doesn't work.

Well i guess that show that even if they was allowing people to change name that will not necessary fix the problem. (in that case the wife could still see the first name)

Like i said previously the only advice i can give is to don't name a char for someone, choose a name that you like, so you wont have the problem of ex name in your nick, kinda like IRL you will think more than 1 second before tattoo the name of your gf/bf cause you cannot remove it if something happen (well technically you could with a few thousand dollar but still), if you want to show your affection for someone in game just marry him/her will show him/her you appreciate him/her.

If you create a new barb and stash your gears/mount, please don't name your new barb with your actual wife name.

Yes i did in the past marry someone in game and though ''hey we should create 2 new chars and name them with our names or something like that'', these chars never passed lvl 40 cause i was finishing by don't ''like'' the name and when you are not friend/hubby/wife anymore with someone the last thing you want is to see his/her name everywhere or a name remind you of him/her.
