dealing with poison

I'm running a Seeker atm, about lvl30 and I'm having trouble dealing with poison attacks.

It's not uncommon to end up with a couple of mobs attacking me, I tank their attacks and kill them both - but then the poison attack eats away my HP faster than healing potions can replenish it.

What's the answer? Keep some jewelry with magic defence and switch to that?

I'm not sure if there's a genie skill to purify yourself, but skills like Tree of Protection (genie lv31) do help. Until then, switching to magic defense ornaments, popping an hp pot while meditating could save you, and try to not attack another mob while you still have the poison effect on you.

The less convenient solution is to raise a cleric until it's lv29 so you can teach it purify to use on your seeker.

Another alternative is second wind, it's an instand heal (also genie skill)
It's abit more effective when you have low HP, while tree of protection is better when you have high HP

Also it might help to use potions during the fight (not sure if you're already doing that though)

I have healing potions and the 'heal 2000 over 30s' basic charms (lvl 1 apothecary). Very useful, means I can solo the lower cult bosses.

Another thing to do is to run in and use close range attacks, so the mob will mostly try to melee you. All too often I see melee classes open up on magic mobs with a ranged attack, and it makes no sense to me... why would you want a magic mob to get a free magic attack (which you're weak against) on you, when you could be up in their face before they're able to get a magic attack off, and force them to melee (which you're strong against)?

The exception to that rule are those mobs that have no melee attack (principle one at your level are the pyrogolths on Broken Bow Ridge) in which case using your ranged attacks is a good alternative to chasing them into other mobs.

Just let the damage run its course and it will go away. Then heal yourself. I also think meditating gets rid of poison. Try that.

You could also try to get temporary gear pieces that increase wood resistance which will make the attack hit you for less as will the poison.

Oh yeah or get Second Wind genie skill. Heals a lot of your Hp instantly.

It does not, but it does increase your HP regen abit (you are still in combat, so it'll be 50% of what it's normal), which helps a little bit

The dmg poison deals per tick is deterined at the moment it's casted. Getting higher defences after that point is useles (even being imume to wood will not prevent poison from dmging you after it's already been put on you)

As a heavy armor wearer your belt and necklace should give you magic defense unless your at endgame and need some sort of set bonus or something like that. At lower levels always use magic defense ornies on HA.

Get the O'Malleys blessing from facebook with the 15 defense levels it will help.

There are genie skills that will block mobs from putting a DOT on you but I found that I forgot to hit the genie button in time and that using that genie energy for healing helped me more anyway. Get the Second Wind genie healing skill and max it out. But later on say after 80 you will have to switch to using the Tree of Protection skill because at those levels the 900hp you get from Second Wind isn't enough to matter.
