Some people that complain about clerics acting like a MAGE... What do they mean???

I want to set this straight, it just does not make any sense to me at all... Clerics should not act like a mage? So they should not use spells at all? What is the cleric supposed to do then? Use bow and arrows and shoot things?

I talked to some kid about general RPGs and he feels that clerics are clerics and mages are mages, but what is HEALING supposed to be in most MMORPGs? Magic? Sure healing does not mean to be using magic all the time, there are herbs, chemists, but I have yet to find an MMO game that have a class that heals by using items on their allies. So what do you call healing with magic then?

As far as I know, mages in general are clearly a support class (clerics are one of them). Haste, protection, amplifiers, slow, etc are mainly magic, that includes heals as well. So what's the problem with clerics using magic at all? Does that make any sense?

Sure some clerics do pure attack but not only them should be keeping their allies alive... Too many people rely on just DPS/DPH kill this quick, rush in a squad instead of watching over others. Why even squad then? Yes, I have 3 clerics that are pure magic with mostly healing maxed available...
I, II and III spark is the most cheesiest skill in PWI and it should be removed or massively nerfed.

    They are called metal mages, they are the ones that ooooonly attack. A normal cleric can attack and not heal. A good cleric can heal. An excellent cleric can do both. You dont find much of those excellent clerics. I have no problem with clerics dd-ing as long as they're keeping the squad alive too.

    Watch how many rely on Bloodpaint ........ there is all the answers.

    Like Mitachi said , a good cleric does both. One thing i want to add in this is that good clerics debuff as well. We have good def debuffs that only barbs / bm / and veno can rival clerics.(mystics may be AoE but they are weaker , they are used for far different situations).

    This is the age of speed. everything is done fast and quickly. Clerics no longer can sit back , lvling only their heals . It is a class that actually needs everything maxed if it wants to stand out from the mass.

    Then that is an attack cleric isn't it? I found that purple night dance a slap in the face for clerics really, but their metal spells / razor feathers do work really well when soloing. Personally as a caster, I mainly heal because I think about my squad most. (Learned from things that can happen).

    Oh yeah, I remember that idiotic belief that BP would keep the melees alive. I still see them think they will be invincible with it. Unless they have OP gear, they will get owned by hard hitters.

    Mystic's befuddling creeper has a weaker def debuffs for a reason since it decreases APS/Channeling a lot too.

    A metal mage is usually a cleric who ignores their role as healer/support and continues to DD regardless of whether the party needs support.

    Example: I went to TW on my alt and we had a r9 ep supporting our squad. During a 90 hour war I received ep buffs once, not a single rezz, and not a single heal.

    Her reasoning was "I'm r9 and I deal good damage, therefore, I should DD." Frankly, none of the DDs in our squad gave a flying fook whether she could kill somebody. Our charms were being ***** extra hard, we were never being rezzed or buffed, and we had 0 support from her. The entire squad requested not to be put in a squad with her again.

    Clerics DDing isn't a bad thing. It's bad when a cleric thinks theey're a mage and ignores the party when support skills are needed.

    people dont say u act like a mage. that is neither an insult nor compliment. if they want to insult you they say u dont know how to heal. if they want to compliment you they say you hit like a truck. calling u a mage doesnt do much.
    the loser fail nab cleric from dreamweaver who quit pwi, but still wanders the forums.

    Similar, but not the same.

    As a general rule, Mages/wizards rely on arcane powers to control the elements, while clerics/priests rely on divine forces granted to them by a superior beign/force associated with the power of "good".

    That's why you will never find a cleric that doesn't serve to a god or worships an unknown force of goodwill, while you could find and atheist wizard (depending the game rules you're playing).

    I play like a ct cleric no matter what the situation, in pk i play like one, in tw i play like one, in pve i play like one, and CT clerics keep their squads alive but also keep themselves alive, bleh im not gonna get into it, ill just facepalm from now on each time i watch your videos.

    you cant generalize like that :P I never ask psys or mystics to heal squads, they do better as DD's. And the Chromatic healing beams clerics are fail, so again dont generalize, theres a good time to use chromatic and a bad time, i only use it when tank has enough ih stacked on him/her. And squad really needs it.

    Obviously, you've met some bad clerics. However, most of us know that healing takes priority for us, particularly if we're the only cleric on the squad. I suppose that's the difference between a standard cleric who can DD and heal and a 'metal mage': priorities.

    However, in most cases, a cleric doesn't need to be spamming heals 100% of the time... it's a waste of mana to overheal. So I hope you don't mind if I take a moment between Ironhearting the tank to throw a couple seals on the boss. b:bye

    I had the same problem, i was able spend a plat hp charm in 4 days just doing caster, i think a charm give the fake idea to the cleric that he is good, yes a charm is there for tick that's the point, but if the stupid cleric don't heal than the cleric have a problem, almost all the time they heal AFTER the charm tick.

    Many cleric on my server are not good, in many caster they DD non stop but not once they debuff the boss, in 9 run on 10 i need to ask the cleric to debuff, that should be something a cleric do without need be asked, in caster today we had 3 clerics, the wizz had aggro and was about to die and the 3 clerics continued to DD on boss.

    How many time i see a cleric drop BB and the other 3 spark DD on boss beside BB while the other cleric drop and is out chi.

    I see sometime both cleric in a squad turn in metal form (violet dance) BOTH!!! and you ask them who gonna heal, they answer use hp pots....

    Some Clerics having TT90 or TT99 want to DD beside let the R8 R9 DD. You ask them nicely '' Mrs X you gonna be main healer pls since you have the lowest weapon'' and they answer '' I DD more than people with R8, i'm a interval cleric'' <- and yes seriousy i saw clerics say that.

    A thing i read somewhere:

    I remember having about 8 -int clerics on Sanctuary server for the events.

    They really were out dding the rest. After all, it doesn't take too much more stats out than a HA build or vit build to make a -int cleric.

    i was just wondering cus i just made a cleric lvl 19 and im just testing out good stats to upgrade and i was just wondering wats good to upgrade for clerics and is worth upgrading in there stats besides the magic??!!......
