About this new Phoenix pet...

...first of all, i DIDN'T use the search button because I'm lazy and sincerly I have no clue of which words use for the searching arguments.

BTW...

Yesterday I bought the new phoenix pet from a guy on RT and I like how this pet appears, but there are few things that pisses me off about it:

- When you "walk" with this flying phoenix there's still the horse hooves sound (?!)
- When I embrace my wife, her name and what she write is under the pet
- It's way too tall (when going through archosaur's "small archs" like the one that brings you to General Summer the character passes through the wall and when trying to jump you can't take the measure since the pet is actually higher than those walls, but you can't jump over them).

I'm pretty sure there are more glitches about this new mount (that, again, I really like as graphic and such), but I just woke up, so nothing else came in my mind... :P

    Ohhhhhh! Somebody never had a fish or any other floating mount. They all make the stomping sound. It's not a "glitch" with the new mount.

    But... If they removed the sound of the motorcycles, why don't they just fix the floating mounts too?

    The problem with the motorcycles was that the sound was annoying people that didn't own them. The auctioneer sounded like she had really bad gas! I know it's not much of a solution if you like hearing other stuff, but you could try turning off sound effects to make the stomping stop. Personally, I thought it was amusing that the fish I had made stomping sounds. Little stuff like that usually bugs me as well but it was hardly noticeable after a while.

    What about the name issue? Someone with high rides like mammoth can confirm that thas issue is for every high mount (I mean the fact that the name of the person you carry and what she says is under the pet)?

    A nice example of shoddy game design here. The issue is they use the same base as a normal mount/horse and only jack the model higher. This puts the center point well below the rider and causes the name misalignment and other problems like the jump. Seeing programming like this explains why there are so many issues with terrain interactions across a number of ingame models.

    They removed the galloping sound from the Boa mount when it was released over 3 and a half years ago when people complained about it.

    Shows how things have changed, huh?

    Yea and knowing it was a issue back then you would think they would learn from their mistakes.

    awww they remove bike sound? i loved it when i had one that was the only time i was playing with the sound, i dont play with sound anymore so i dunno the sound of mounts. xD

    as for the OP, well...they could fix the stomping....but knowing pwi they wont

    And your wife not cuddling for such a silly reason is a mix between sad, **** and hillarious.

    Also they could fix the center balance of the mount so that the names appear on top...but it's pwi...so they wontb:chuckle

    I made this thread just to say that I noticed few technical aspects that i find wrong with the pet (the sound and the actual height of the ride), but if people can't recognize sarcasm I can't help :P

    First of all Gratz on your first PWI mount, cause you probably never own a mount for not know that on the majority of the mounts the name of the person you carry go under.

    Secondly, the sound... i don't even remember last time i play with sound, if really that bother you, cut the sound just keep the music. (you are probably a new player for still play with the sound cause everyone i know listen their own music when playing and only use the sound for the cube room listen ex)

    Thirdly, it's what people like about that mount, it's tall, dude i feel like a queen on the top of the world on that tall mount.

    not all of them have the stomp sound. some, like the bike, have another more suitable sound, and i believe some other mounts have a rustling sound instead.
    the loser fail nab cleric from dreamweaver who quit pwi, but still wanders the forums.

    Tidal Serpant also makes the stomping sounds. You just get used to it.
