    Is this for PvE or PvP?

    Is this fantasy best gears possible or what is the limit?

    You just want max defense or something that can actually kill other players? Because if you just focus on def it kind of defeats the purpose of even using claws or fists.

    I'd consider this a realistic endgame:

    You can try for a few more things like -.1 G15/G16 claws or -.1 on R8r plate and then switch another piece or two. Refines can be higher, ornies can be higher, but I tried to keep it realistic. Can also add engravings to rings, switch shards in axes to JoSD...

    As snufalufugus said, why not just do axes? You lose 1/3 of your dps already by dropping down to 3.33 (5.0 does 50% more damage) and kind of limit your build to G13 claws, so its even more than that. Basically, you'd be under perma spark, and even if you were permasparked you'd only do about half of what other aps BMs are doing. Claws aren't huge in PvP, and anything in PvE you would already have plenty def for.

    Nirvana pants HA
    TT99 HA wrists and boots
    LUAD or Pan Gu tome
    G16 Cube MDef neck
    G16 Warsong MDef belt
    Seal of eternal solitude X 2 rings
    First or claw with -0.10 int

    make everything +12, and shard with JOSD's, and voila, LOTS of Pdef, LOTS of MDef, and 3.33 base.

    Well, getting at least 0.05 -int on both rank 8 boots and chest is in the realm of possibility although it still may take a lot. So I would use...

    Weapon
    -0.10 G13 Nirvy claws or Deicides for the vit

    Armors
    -0.05 R8 chest
    -0.05 R8 boots
    -0.05 L:UAD
    -0.10 Lunar Nirvy Wrist
    -0.05 G13 Lunar cape

    Non -int
    Elemental Cube Neck
    Elemental Warsong Belt
    Lunar Nirvy Helm
    R8 recast pants for 3 piece 15% m.atk reduction.
    sky cover x 2 with def level or at least some kind of defensive engraving
    O'Malley Blessing


    If you were rich enough in this game to get full JoSD and +12, you would have:

    24k hp fully buffed, 20k hp self buffed.
    Around 20k pdef and mdef fully buffed with marrow.
    Around 13k pdef and 17k mdef when self buffed with marrow.
    80 +/- def levels depending on what grade your orns are.
    3.33 base aps.
    You will have a 15% damage reduction from any magic attack that wont be debuffed.


    You could change the following for more def, but who is seriously going to go for def levels on fists when Bms have enough trouble killing as it is against pimped out players. Not to mention I would much rather have a Spirit Blackhole pole than r8 fists.

    recast pants --> Nirvy pants
    claws --> r8 recast fists with -0.05 int and 25 def levels.
