The 1 shotter people are complaining about is the Leaf Rain Dryad in part 2 of my video. If you look at the damage log, it does only about 300 dmg.
HP isn't too much of a factor. Genie and level? lol? I didn't even use genie.
This is true but not totally. The boss in aba (didn't do the new seat one yet), has a "special hit" like the one it does at the very start. This hit will not show in the damage list if you have it displayed in chat, and it seems to 12k'ish then going up with the number of hits you land on the boss with the buff. This hit doesn't seem to be reduced by sage spark, bb, defence lvls and phys/mag def (but can be resisted with spark/ad).
So basically what you say is true if you have, say, 15k+ hp. You can also rush-kill the boss, and have it die before any of the anti-aps tricks trigger (the first big hit is easy to avoid with a spark or ad).
This is what I noticed in the 4 times I did the boss (barb, bm, sin, cleric). The boss isn't hard, it just requires to play differently from the existing bosses (unless you can kill it in 1 spark) : clerics shouldn't bb cause it won't cut the big hits and doesn't heal enough for the tank, sins/bms shouldn't just poke like idiots, barbs are better on 4 paws, ...
N.B. I had 1 squad fail because they just were idiots. I had 1 squad that killed the boss in 5 sec or so (4 with r9+10 weaps). The other runs were just average squads with different setups. There is no real need for specific setup/classes or for specific gear requirement as far as I've seen in aba.0 -
Amm I dont have yet try aba new boss but at least this is was happen today with the squads i was(i have an archer and bm lv 100) first i try to do BH with my BM the squad was an archer, cleric, anothe bm, sin and seeker at first the other bm runs with ironheart and buffs(he also have demon bell) and first hit he resist and 3 more seconds was dead we start hitting boss and start to getting killed(the extrange thing was cleric has the agro and ressing and healing she dont get killed at fisrt hit)
We reagroup, seeker change to his barb and we try again at first he hit and no problem when we start to hit(im 4.0 aps, the other bm, claw archer and sin 5.00) the boss get a buff called triggering that grants the boss with more defense when get aps and start to atack barb with a bleed skill. The bleed was th thing that hitted hard and activated same time with the triggering; we killed boss and i changed to my archer pretty much the same thing my archer, 2 another archer, 2 sin and cleric happen almost same thing we die, reagroup and a archer brings his barb at end i thinl the real problem is that bleed is a short time but very vicious and explains some people complaining by getting killed by nothing this is what happen to me hope it helps n.nu0 -
I'm an under geared Mystic but I was able to tank Leaf Rain Dryad... for a while.
It doesn't hit hard at all. Only a few hundred per strike, never more than 1k HP.
I got a screen shot of the buff it uses.
The buff read: Taking damage from enemies increase your attack for a short time
It casted that buff on itself several times. I didn't even attack it after it gained that buff. I stopped to get the screen shot and died. Maybe my DoT caused it to recast the buff over and over and get stronger but it should have only activated at 60% HP. I wasn't even close to that.
It seems to get angry anytime i do something other than my most basic of attacks.
Spark, Genie, DoT, Summon a plant or pet. It casts that buff every time I cast one of those spells and shortly after kills me.0 -

There are 2 kinds of attack that people are confounding. They are NOT the same thing. Here are the explanation of what happens:
1. There is a 'charging' buff that makes the boss heal and increases the attack on Aba boss and a damage reduction buff on SoT boss.
2. On both bosses, there is a 1-hit-big-damage attack followed by a DoT that happens as soon as the boss is aggroed and repeats from time to time. It is not an AOE and affect who has aggro only. The damage from the 1-hit attack is not shown on the damage log.
Along with them there is:
Melee normal attack: damages the average geared toon from 2k to 4k.
Ranged normal attack: does less than 1k in most of toons.
AOE: does little dmg not sure exactly how much. I'm inclined to say the damage buff on Aba affects the AOE, though I did not test too much.
The DoT remains after death, you can check your buff icons. If you have the buff you will receive the DoT as soon as you get up from ressurection, if you don't have a charm and it is not a mystic res this means you will die right after.0 -
bout the new bosses in abba wat my squad did was used every debuff + HF+ sparks nd kill it as fast as we could it worked after the 6ish squad wipe b:surrender
then for lord we try the same thing but didnt work and in our last try we only used skills to atk , for example the bm would use axes instead of fist and just spark + skills, `sin didnt atk for some time~ and it when well until i looked away nd well we all died b:shutup
so i guess you either kill it fast enough all aps+spark+HF or use only skills like old time in pwib:laugh

If you want to do it easily use a real squad with a good mix of classes and a decent cleric. Maybe have a barb do the tanking and control your aggro. Derp, derp.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The bosses in both Aba and Seat seem to have a simple mechanic which is probably the cause of the "no aps" myths. Both boss will drop an extremely high damage bleed on the tank (person with agro) every so often. Usually a one shot on most classes, but a barb can handle it easily. So if you're a 5.0 sin going crazy on triple spark and you're taking agro, that's why you're dying. The boss can also use the bleed on anyone who initially approaches it.
Simple solution is to get a barb. Aps is fine, just control your damage so the barb has agro. Don't attack during the red boss selfbuff in aba or the bosses heal selfbuff in Seat. Melee attacks will reduce damage for the boss in Seat, but it's not a huge problem.
Haven't done much bh runs yet since the update is still new, but just my own observations on it.0 -
i had enought of listening that those new bosses are easy, i have veno 101 and bm 102 and today try different aproches to boss in sot. No luck evry 30 sek he kill someone if we use only skills, and bm who supose to be replaced tank instead of barb, even using skills dont help him. well ppl say it is easy but allways in sq is barb or some stupid r9+12 who has evry boss on 1 spark. so those bosses dont change anything, doters will have betterand better and all middle once must look for different game because they have choise - spend lots of money or play on barb - i refuse to do both of those0

Leaf dryad in abaddon dead. No one in the squad died.
Tried with another squad in SoT with a cleric and random peeps.
Lord of captivation dead, no one died in squad.

u said u have barb in sq , all ppl i ask they dont fail if barb is in sq but if not, and u dont kill boss in 5-6 sek then is allways fail. i think Pwi wants to make us do all with barbs or no at all.0

so i didnt do aba on any class but sin yet
but the easiest way to kill it was figured out pretty fast
..kill before anything special happens.. like fc and nirvana
now 2 averange sins cant do it dps wise
but a full squad of averange an complete **** gear sins did it with ease
so i think 3 averange (+10 g13=averange) assasins can do aba
gotta try that again. might need extra attack from barb buff
everyone needs to attack at the same time
no pulling the boss
demon spark purges the innitial bleed so thats merely a single charm tick on tank
in theory a 5k hp sin could tank as well if he had the dps
deaden nerves for bleed
when i have time i will try sot too
maybe 6 sins again and i use ironguard to tank
as long as it dies within ig duration we should be fine?i like potato0 -

You should use a lvl 12 elixir potion, then an aura will be created arround you and you will be invinsible for 20 min to kill it >.>
Dafuq guys.. it's just a strong boss, it can be APSed, it can be killed, you just need to synch all the debuffs.. i am not saying that we dont get squad wiped often but after 1-2 tries we get it..
P.S.: To all the barbs thinking they are useful on this boss, go play with your furball, you are the same useless as on the rest of the PVE instances..0 -

This just made me laugh so hard. A sin, an easy mode class. Trying to tell everyone it's easy. It's NOT. Yes you have to use some brainpower, but unless you have some really powerful high hp/pdefed tank you still need a barb. The average player base doesn't have this so a barb is required. Yesterday alone I saw 4-5 squads asking for a tank for SoT. (Which I then joined their squad to help them as I don't mind). You must be rolling in some pretty strange crowds if the average sin has a +10 G13 weapon. From what I've seen, it's more like G13 +4 for the average sin, along with +3-4 armors. It's damn rare to see a sin who has better gear than me (4.0 base with +6), so I have no clue where the hell you're getting that the average sin has a G13 +10.Yes you have to use some brainpower, but unless you have some really powerful high hp/pdefed tank you still need a barb.
