From what I gather, a lot of factions that do Trials don't sell their Damascenes outside of faction. That, coupled with the Damascenes being in high demand even if you only have a handful of players in your faction needing it leads to very low supply. The supply would also be nearly non-existent for players who don't do Trials.
They will probably do something like that...
I can think of at least 4 factions on my server who do trials and no one in them needs the Dama ores.... More factions just have to do it[SIGPIC]http://i48.tinypic.com/2r61kw3.jpg[/SIGPIC]

Personally I don't think it's the sales that are the issue, it's the price these merchants are selling things for that is the issue. They have no problem keeping prices high for as long as they have to, to set a new price for tokens.
I mean you remember when Tokens were 9k - 10k? what was the logic behind rasing the price to 15k - 19k? At that time the demand did not increase and if it did because of a sale it was a small increase but did it really justify raising token prices?0 -

dont understand this...
theres a lot ppl buy from token, like tele, gems, crabs etc.
so all prices raise for this and as u say, only ppl who use the aurora npc and mabye win something can pay the raised prices.
aha...if they found some one who buy the stuff they win, for a high price maybe.
so much maybes:
maybe u win something usefull
maybe some one buy it from u
AND mabye token price will go back normal
a lot ppl say: the game is dying and pwi try to rip the last off the users.
maybe: thats way the update destroy again the economy0 -

The only "realistic" justification for the price bump would be that during Christmas we had packs for 22 Silver a piece, since then the best we've gotten was 35.2, mostly 44 silver. Which would lead to less packs being opened and thus less tokens in the circulation. Less circulation leads to harder time to buy, thus they raise the buy price. Together with that, they raise their sell price to keep their profits. Others repeat the process and we have a new price for tokens.I am Olba. Not Ol, not Baze nor Blaze. Meh. Imma just login to pick keys and do morai-dailies for the next week. If the prices don't drop when he's gone I'll just collect skype and facebook's from ppl I'd like to stay in touch with and I'm out.
I honestly don't care about r9, I don't care about nirvana recast, or any kind of "buy your power here"
But token prices have to do with the way I play this game(which is just for fun) and if I can't afford my mpfoods and have some coin left, without doing OHT-daily, Cube, and just selling mob drops, no thanks. ^^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

That`s laughable. You mind telling what are the benefits? And no, tokens will never go back to the low prices they were as long as it`s not stated Aurora Agent will never return. Sure they drop in price when the npc is gone but from now on tokens will always have Aurora boost in price. This affect the high end players and cashshoppers the least. The once you are **** over are the lower levels, the possible "new generation" of playerbase, which is really amusing as it`s the new ppl to the game that "need" to spend money for their gear.Trolling Sid since So Hot0 -

And here in lies the problem. At this point tokens should have a perm price just like most everything in this game. At this point token sellers rasing their price to test the waters is **** because if they keep them high for long enough people are going to be forced to pay those prices which will continue the cycle.Hazumi_chan - Sanctuary wrote: »Meh. Honestly they need to make NPC's sell crab meat and MPfood just put it somewhere not everyone can get to like in morai.
The fact that merchants control such a vital part of everyones game play opens the door for unhappy merchants who have the money to destory the market and cause people to quit because of the simple fact that they can't afford to play the game the way they normally do.0 -

that say a lot ppl and for this, they say pwi is dying.
so no interest in new player, more focus on the ppl hyper herself up to 100+
they now want r9, refine...and pwi the cash.
games like this are made buy designer who think on every stuff the design "how can we make money with this".
so i dont belive this is a short test and will be changed.
the use of crab meat lowers the charm selling, so this problem for pwi is now gone.
im sure you all will find more good changes for pwi like this^^
or did any 1 know anything what was here changed wen player dont like it ?0 -
SPREAD THE WORD:
Well is simply actually, for non addicted ppl.
Have you ever heard of the pasifict protest ways?, well in many countries ppl have managed to low down the prices of either phone billings, electricity, internet, and many other things.
HOW? you say, well is simple. A block, to the companies, in this case, "the CATSHOPS", or even better PWE itself.
But Why pwe?, Cashopers specially, will say, is not pwe fault, because ofc, they're happy with the adjustments. The truth is pwe can prevent this kind of things, and just as a MOD confessed a few pages ago: "We knew that the Aurora Agent would drastically influence the economy, especially the Tokens. "... WTF?
Well, we all know that AH can have a limit on the pricing, making it impossible to sell gold at RAPIST prices, we all know that catshops also have limits, the question is why not setting a limit on AH for 1mil for instance?, or making it impossible to sell tokens for over 10k? it's a fair price tbh, I made a looooot of coins in the past by selling them 10k. But the answer is simple, pwe won't do that because, who doesn't loves money?.
Said that, the sugestion is simple, Stop playing pwe, NOT forever, no is not necessary is just a warning, to the personal and to the greedy players, that in the end, it doesn't matter how many TOP CS, they have, the Majority will always be right.
Yes yes, I know top CS will say, that the game sustain thanks to us all who CS, but Guys let's be real, I have CS on other games as well, and they died, I would mention some examples for you to check yourselves, but i can't. The thing is that when the players unable to CS, get to this point, where ALL the benefits are exclusive for the CS, they simply will start walking away, slowly but surely, and with them MANY OF US CS, because I personally, don't like playing on a GHOST TOWN. Is not fun, is not challenging, is BORING.
In the end the only ones left will be the extreme CS that spent thousands and thousands of dollars on the game that are so attached that they can only log to stand afk there hoping for someone to come pvp, repeating the same routine day after day.
Yes Free players need us, but we also need them.
That's why I decided to stop doing CS on my main account. And if you guys care for the game, I suggest you to protest with me. Stop playing, stop paying, for a week or two, there are plenity of games to play in the meanwhile, I'm doing this and I'm taking a few ppl with me my gf and my best friends, yes we're few but of MORE OF YOU have the courage to do it with us, pwe won't have another option but to LISTEN.
That's why I invite you all to log out and stop doing CS at exactly 12 am SERVER TIME, let's show pwe WHO GOT THE POWER!. One week without pwi, won't kill us, you miss your friends? you have the chat or the forums, you wanna have fun, there are LOTS of games out there you can try out, pwe will risk losing ppl that will find or get attached to other games.
Let's do it because we love the game and having fun.0 -

The point is that this "aurora agent" has essentially created a new floor for token prices since they will never go back down to the previous level of 12.5K per token (price for DW server). People will hoard them in anticipation of the next appearance of the npc and this together with the generally higher pack prices we've seen recently, will ensure that token supply remains lower than before.Hazumi_chan - Sanctuary wrote: »Meh. I think you've just eloquently spoken for the "little guy" in PWI... those non-merchants/non-cash shoppers who desperately depend on tokens to comfortably play the game at their own pace. Unfortunately however, PWE is currently waaay more interested in the game's One percenters. Go figure.0 -

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. As a Mystic, Psychic, and Veno, MPfood is my staple. I literally cannot function in battle without it. Unless I take the time to farm Hell, I basically won't have MP pots. Good thing my apothecary is 6, and my faction owns land. -_-
It's bad enough now as it is, how is ruining the economy MORE, helping? I can't even sell cannies now because you're practically GIVING them away! How am I supposed to farm coin for shards and refines that I need for endgame if the prices of the **** I'm selling are so cheap?

There is nothing in place to stop the price of both nirvana mats and R8 mats from plummeting to dirt cheap/worthless given a huge swell of token supply. Right now the token supply is very low because of the lack of good pack sales over the last few months.
The only floor in place for tokens is still 10k since you can trade them in for triumph money at that price. No matter what the supply of tokens, no matter what kind of pack sale there is, tokens will never fall below 10k. That is what a floor is all about.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

So do i.
Would be fun if they used a other item, token is the only way to get pots at ''decent'' price.
Im glad cause as mystic and cleric i don't absolutely need crab meat but that suck for class who need it.
To be honest i think they should put crab meat 3 tokens for 50 like herb is.
I guess the only consolation is that npc is there just for 1 week so price should go back to normal soon.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I'd just like to point out that back in the day, we used to rely on sane gold prices (100k or so), which were then ruined by PWE's blatant disregard of economic stability. Then came tokens... and as gold went insufferably high, we got used to using tokens for all kinds of stuff. Within a few months we were hooked on them, and hooked on that pretty little price floor of 10k that was supported by all the catshop merchants.
But come on, didn't anyone else expect that bubble to burst eventually? Tokens are dependent on packs which are dependent on money given to PWE. Thus, eventually as PWE and the devs made stupid decision after stupid decision, the pack-buying public would drift away and the token supply would dry up, gradually causing an inflationary panic. You can't say we didn't see this coming. Really, the only funny part is how PWE (and geno's comments in particular) seemed to say "**** it, we may as well put the economy out of its misery now."
I mean, on one level it'd be hilarious to see people raging about the price of Flawless Shards being like they used to be in the good ole' days. But eventually the reality of this is going to set in (most likely, once people are done fighting over the new Epeen Extensions du jour), and then we may see just how addicted we really were. And once that happens, we'll be able to get a better idea of what damage has been done.
I'll tell you one thing, though... and this is the one that makes me shake my head and smile:Genotypist wrote:Token prices will go back to normal eventually. Give it a bit of time.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You're talking about (for lack of a better term) a hard floor. We can haggle over definitions if you want but in reality the only time actual prices ever matches that hard floor is when you have an over abundance of supply... such as what happened with mirages when BH talismans were allowed to be converted to them. But with tokens demand has always been higher than supply judging by the fact that we haven't seen (on my server at least) tokens drop to 10k in more than a year... regardless of how cheap packs have gotten. If memory serves me it has always shifted in the 11-13K range.
Now with the threat of this aurora agent npc returning from time to time, hoarding by players will occur once the prices lowers some from it's current madness... in hopes of profiting from the next appearance of the npc. So an even more reduced supply should ensure a working floor price well above well above what tokens had settled at before.0 -

A barb cant tank with no Hp crab, a seeker cant vortex without mp crabs, cleric cant BB, you can do 100k 1 token we dont give a damn, we just want crabs. If u do so bad update at least put the crabs at decent price on NPC so we can start playing like normal people. If you want only kids with mommy credit card to play this game why dont u just BAN all people who dont donate everyday? When all people who cant catshop will be gone the rich ones will have no one to sell items to because they all gonna have. 30% of players already left and I dont see many new players either. Me and many more cant play without crabs. And how can I make money on this lame game when there is no dungeon to farm coins, BH reward give only chips and sockets and no drops either? Even if i will farm Nirvana the drop cost less then repairs and crabs. Maybe you need to change the man who run this game cuz i see he is on something!0
