I can almost guarantee that it's because you didn't disable the active scan for your antivirus and have not added the client directory to the exception list for your antivirus/security software.

It states on the Download Page, right under the links next to the Notes....
Antivirus/Firewall/Security Software Notice:
If you have problems downloading, installing, patching or running the game, please see the support website for your software about how to add files exceptions for our game.

This is because your security software may flag some of the files and "clean" them, quarantine them, or prevent them from downloading.

I am quite certain that if you add the client to your software's filter, and then verify a couple of times, that you will have an intact client that no longer has any missing or corrupt files. (You need to run the verify at least twice because the patcher does not get all the files the first time for some stupid reason.)

Hopefully you guys can read other posts. I didn't feel like posting this in 10 different threads.
