I've played before a couple years ago and didn't get very far, maybe level 9 or so. I've lost interest in almost all other MMORPG's out there and waiting for a specific one to release this year to play that. But I feel before that happens, I should give PWI a fair shot. But I have one question first. It's a bit "noobish" but I really think its important.

Are cash items OP in this game (do they give an unfair advantage)?

If not, fantastic and I hope to see some of you ingame. ^_^

Also, is leveling really slow, cuz when I played it seemed to be on the epicly slow end.

Levelling is so fast you can be 100 in a few weeks, and cash shop gear is the most powerful gear in the game, bar none.

On the other hand though, this game allows you purchase cash shop gold with in-game coin. If you get good at merchanting, you can have everything the cash shoppers have, even if it takes you longer. That's not true with a lot of games that have such a large cash shop advantage. There is almost nothing you cannot get with in-game coins. The one exception being a red and black fox mount, but you can get a white one that is exactly the same in every way but the color. The mounts also give you no advantage against other players.

So it's not quite pay-to-win because I do know of people who farmed/merchanted their end game gear and have some of the best gear in the game bar none. But if you can't leave your computer running, don't have a lot of time to invest, nor a lot of money. You will be severely gimped gear wise. So it's a kinda pay-to-win, and kinda not. And that's just the way it is.

Okay thanks for the replies, I figure I'll play casually and if I get extra money I'll buy some cash items if I like the game. Though I like being able to buy cash currency with ingame coins which is nice, and gives me something to do when I'm bored or its a rainy day.

By the way, is 100 the level cap?

You should know that if you wanted to buy the cash shop gears and relevant items you could spend over three thousand dollars easily if pure cash shopper.

Also, playing casual and free to play does not mix well. You will never get anywhere unless you dedicate yourself to this game or you spend cash.

In 1v1's outside west gate that statement may be true. So sick of seeing this argument. You do not need ANY cash shop gear to be able to do anything pve related in this game. Also, if you join a low to mid level faction that does TW you can have some awesome fun fighting other similarly geared (ie not full r9+12) people for a month or two after a map reset. Once the top tier factions start to control the map you won't be able to get anywhere though. However, seeing as map resets are now every 6 months - it makes it a lot more fun for those that can't pay to win. b:victory
