I'm not getting any lag. numbers are in the 200's atm... I'm usually in the low 100's, it's probably higher because I have utorrent running.

Hops 4 and 5 never give me a response because they have ping turned off, and 16 is PWI's ISP you won't get a response there for the same reason. Overall, this is a pretty normal route map for me...

Common reasons that you can't connect to the servers, experience disconnects, or just have lag in general...

    1. You don't have the three .exe files for the client set to run as administrator.
    2. You don't have the game directory set as an exception in your security softwares.
    3. Your network adapter driver is out of date and needs to be refreshed.
    4. Your local area network settings are improperly configured.
    5. You have more than one firewall and don't realize it.
    6. Your firewall settings are too strict. (Very common with ZoneAlarm and Commodo firewall.)
    7. Your router is configured improperly.
    8. you have a bad network cable.
    9. You're using a wireless network connection. (Which leads to another huge list.)
    10. You have a lot of traffic on your local network that is bogging your router/modem down.
    11. There's a fault in your router.
    12. There's a fault in your modem.
13, You have a bad phone cord plugged into your modem.
    14. There's an issue with your house wiring.
    15. There's an issue with your outside wiring.
    16. A squirrel chewed on your phone line at the pole and it's raining. (I've had this happen personally.)
    17. A switch/router at the CO for your ISP is having an issue.
    18. One of the many hubs between you and PWI is having an issue. (most common)
    19. There is heavy sunspot activity. (has happened within the past two years)
    20. There's a regional router outage. (Has happened several times, most recently just a couple of weeks ago.)

That's just a few. The more details you give, the better I can narrow it down and tell you what the issue is.

Also, post a copy of a traceroute to the server. (Like I did above.)

Ok here's my traceroute, also Sylen ty for the reply, i've noticed that this is the second time I'm experiencing this kind of problem. The first time it happened you also helped me :) and the problem seems to be similar.

    Hop 1 is your modem/router
    Hop 2 is your ISP
Hop 3 woud be your ISP's regional hub.

You can try rebooting your modem to see if that fixes the issue. If it doesn't and everything still times out after hop 3, call your ISP and have them look into it. They may be having an issue.

Odd coincidence but it seems that all the weird lag issues lately started to occur ever since that day where PWI got database issues a few months ago that was preventing ppl that weren't online to log on. I remember that for a week after that incident, I was having weird lag for about half of the afternoon. Only the US Servers were showing an unusual high ping (according to the ping on the "choose a server" selection screen).

After a week it went away for about a week or 2 where the same thing occured. Made several ping tests to my ISP and various locations across the US, which all came to be normal. Test to LA gave a 90ms ping and to SF it was 100ms (which is normal for me, being on the East Coast). Oddly enough the US game servers were still showing around 250ms for East Coast servers and 380ms for the West Coast servers, while for the European servers were showing up as 110 and 120ms.

This weird lag went and gone away after that night where there was some early maint with no patches that lasted a bit over 4 hours. Last saw this weird lag on thursday, there again everything was the same as the other times.
