Love my clerics

I've been playing clerics for many years -- about once a year I start a new cleric, just because I enjoy playing them, and I think each new cleric is superior to the previous one because of increasingly better pass-down gear and the class experience I've accumulated. I suppose it would be boring except for the fact I enjoy pushing the envelope for what clerics are capable of doing.

My current "new" cleric is now level-69. As with all my clerics, she's pure MAG (1 STR, 9 MAG each 2 levels) -- she's also got 3060 HP from gear and 1250 Pdef.

At level-44 I began using her to solo BH29, and she's tanked or solo'd all bosses in BH's 39, 51, and 59 (yes -- 59 -- she steals aggro from my level-79 herc, so I just let her keep aggro).

I don't consider myself "pro," but I do like to know what my classes are capable of achieving -- and that's why I'm writing this.

Yesterday one of my faction mates requested help with Slitt and the Felgar miniboss (the one behind City of Abominations). I offered help, then was surprised to find she too was a cleric and the same level as my cleric. I suspect she's new to PW because she hadn't a clew where to possition herself at Slitt, but no nevermind. My point is she hadn't even tried to do these bosses on her own.

And as I watch faction chat I see way too many players dying too often (some of them have high-level alts), and there're an awful lot of players asking for help with mobs/bosses they can do by themselves -- and SHOULD do solo if they are ever to learn how to play their class.

But this is a cleric thread; so, let me end with this -- we're all told that clerics are squishy and I think too many players have bought into that rot. I love playing clerics because they are so self-reliant and can solo many bosses that other classes would not dare to attempt. It always tickles me when people get on world chat saying "have cleric, need tank for BH79" when any good cleric can easily tank all bosses in that instance (with no other heals than her own).

Oh people are stupid pretty much all class can tank BH79, they are not AOE anything, the problem if you are cleric in a squad you will need to heal a ''tank'' cause id u DD and heal urself u might loose aggro on a archer or a wizz. People think that for do a bh (bh 79 100 or w/e) they need absolutly a barb, bm, sin, cleric and 2 DD, i've done pretty much all bh in game without any of these class, i've done bh without barb, i've done bh without bm, i've done bh ithout bm and barb, etc.. and the squad wasnt failed.

Yes some cleric can solo some stuff, but some other class too, i remember on low lvl on my veno i was tanking my bh abnd wasnt with a herc or tideborn pet was with a normal magmite.

Just exemple BlackHole in OHT, how many people from every class (except herc veno) i see ask help for it, even cleric ask for help, i solo it on my cleric and im not crazy R9+12 i have a normal R8 weap normal gears TT99 boots sleeves, R8 chest and TT90 boots so the nirvy gears cleric asking help for it think they cannot solo it prolly never tried or are not enough good to do it.

but like i told you in a previous post, PWI is a MMORPG=Massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Its not a game to play solo.

One of the reasons people die often is because they don't solo. They are always getting people to help them. So, they don't know how to fight monsters. They don't know their relative strengths and weaknesses against the monsters they are fighting, and they don't know what skills and items and equipment to use and when. Also, they probably aren't using apothecary, as they most likely powerleveled without bothering to take the time to gather herbs. Also, they will blame the cleric when they Leeroy into a mob and die...

b:pleased....wow...could you train me??....I started my "cayeon" cleric in 08, stopped playing up till a week ago, lol...I never thought of going back into those fb caves@all or soloing bosses for that matter. I've always liked clerics despite the stereotypes out there.

When I first started PW, I was annoyed@all the other races having to run, jump, swim and die constantly@avoiding orange or red named monsters...Then, I rolled a cleric who could fly@birth, lol...I was hooked!

I flew EVERYWHERE@79 height, lol..Not only was it a relief to not worry about dying from anything but it was also kool to watch my Dude flying up against the sunset or moonlight backround...Not to mention, cheaper on my wallet, hehe...

Back then, Iridescence, to me, was and still is the koolest looking wings..I spent 40 bucks getting those 35gold wings, haha...I almost NEVER use teleports as that's the reason I bought my wings and again, it's cheaper...

But, yeah...Obviously, I've got a lot to catch up on, (NEW races, stories, weapons, sheesh, lol...), but I want to make my Dude as strong as possible yet NOT JUST a healer because I believe they're capable of much more......Like cayeon's guide, I've put ALL PTS to Mag aside from Str for wpns n armr...I'm only 76 right now but am planning on growing him steadily from here on and would like a nudge@direction if possible from whoever...I'm on my own right now@factions due to just wanting to LEARN again...Questing normal quests, crazy stone and daily sign in is all I've been doing last 2 wks.....

LOL@myself@refining and ruining my Acalanatha wand....I never dabbled in "refining" anything back then and tried my hand@it yesterday...hahaaa...My wand is lvl9 and was +5, (which I had NO IDEA meant someone refined it 5 times...), until I messed with it...My first try was a success so, needless to say, my Dingy azz was happy and shoulda left it alone...I raised the Mag atk to like.....750+ or 767 I think, one of those...So, I was like, "Drrr, buy more mirage and keep doing it!!".......Not only is it@default now but I lost nearly 4mil tryin to get it back, hahaaa.....Oh well, play and learn, right??...@least those dudes cat shopping near the elder that day made $ off my ingame ignorance......

Soo...with just over 2mil coin, I managed to purchase a "griefs breath" sword lvl9 +5 and it's currently doing the job but...I just spent 20bucks on gold and want to utilize it wisely...I was thinking about buying dragon orbs and whatever to refine my wand back to where it was or not??...With my wand, the way it was@+5, my mag atck was way more higher than my sword@+5 now....I know I'll have to trade gold for more coin but if there's a way to use most or all my gold@gaining the strongest weapon I can for me right now, I won't hesitate and would truly APPRECIATE any advice from anyone....thanks in advance.b:thanks

mhm ill say for the moment keep the weap you have, at lvl 85 you can use a aquadash (+15 magic points, +70 magic attack, -3% channelling), its a good weapon and many people use that weapon for the lvl 85 to lvl 100.

I don't know on which server you are but i know on harsland you can get that weapon for less than 10m already refine and shard.

Good luck and have fun. :)

As i said dont put money refine your actual weapon, +5 for a TT70 weapon is already really good, use like it is and continue to quest (bh fc or w/e) and at lvl 85 with the money get a aquadash, lvl 76 to 85 is not so long. If you still want refine it its your personnal choice but you will loose money that you can use to buy a other weapon already refine and shard for lvl 85.

Start looking in the catshop in west and AH for aquadash, so you gonna see the price and gonna be able choose to keep money for it or refine your actual weapon. (i really dont recommand to refine more than it is)

Atm my aquadash is +5 and the magic attack is 827-1166 (its a lvl 12 weapon)

P.s: If you are in game atm you can maybe pm me i can show you the weapon. Just private message me your in game char name.
