    Make what up?
How long do you EXPECT it to take to check 6 GIGA bytes of data. Cause that's how big your game folder is

Also, why would you verify anyway? You only need it if your game is messed up, and it's an extra option most games don't have (usually it's just: download the client again, that should fix it)

I've been gone a few months but unless they fixed it, you HAVE to verify this game after installing....... that is if you want all the music to work. Since Genesis fracked up the music files.....

Edit: When Genesis came out half or more of the music files weren't included with the rest of the game files you download when you install, forcing you to verify afterwards to get the rest of them.

They never made it necessary to verify the client. You have an option while installing where you may or may not choose to verify after installed.

Depends entirely on the abilities of your computer and/or internet connection. Your security software also plays a key role as it will flag files of the client to clean/quarantine if you don't have it set up right.

I have systems that will do it in 5 minutes, 30 minutes, and one that takes almost 2 hours.

I have a current, patched client that verifies in 9 minutes.

The ONLY reason that Verify takes so long is because it is downloading and replacing damage files, or missing files, in the game.

Try to defrag your drive after verifying if it takes a week to do. >_>
When the 11 and 12 star orbs were removed due to
    "Client Instability"...
Was PWE referring to the Game Client?
    Or the players?

9 minutes??? I JUST verified it on a new laptop RIGHT after installing and updating..... it took the entire night.

And John Smith.... no one said it was mandatory to verify in order to play, but did you read what i said?

Like I said before, it depends entirely on the capabilities and performance of your system and network.
Things like not having the client directory added to the exceptions list for your antivirus software will slow it down considerably, not to mention risking corrupted game files.

Verification used to take a normal amount of time, about what your hard drive would take to read that much data. The descent expansion broke something and now it crawls along and my puter can't finish it in one night. I hope they fix this soon.

It's not something wrong with the client. All 7 of my systems verify in the same amount of time they used to. (well maybe a few seconds longer just because there's a little more data.)

If the problem is limited to a few systems, it's not likely an issue with the client.

Even on my gaming rig, the patcher will take hours to verify, typically. So to the OP: Yes, it's normal.
