So: Would you want a UI Switch?

Just a harmless question, nothing more.
Someone earlier was asking why the older ui isn't fixed; I looked into it and found that there really isn't much from us having the old ui and a switch for it. You know that ini setting for the ui? That is controlled by an in game switch and the ui actually switches while in game.
Here's a pic of said old ui all nicely done.
No, I'm not manipulating the client in any way or doing something illegal. That is an intended feature that pwcn has (proof 1, proof 2), that pw my-en has (proof 1, proof 2), and soemthing that even p2p pw has (proof 1, proof 2, albeit they are different uis altogether) but something that was hidden from us (which after looking at it for quite a few hours the only reason I could come up with is that they couldn't/wouldn't finish it). All I did was fix a couple of tiny little things...
What do you guys think?

I'd switch in a heartbeat. I liked the old UI a lot more due it being friendlier for people with small screens (laptops).
Using the method explained here, I was able to (happily) revert to it (with just a few minor broken features). However, it's being broken moreso with each update and has become almost unusable ever since the Descent expansion was released.
I don't hold out any hope of PWE actually devoting any resources to properly support it, but it would be nice.0 -

Old ui may be old looking, but surprisingly it isn't as old as it looks. There is the older one that was released with pwi in 2008, and then there is the damn old one released back when pw was made (see p2p pw screen shot with the blue ui, it has to be the original one since it still exists in our files). The latter two I'll admit are fugly.
The old ui for me though, imo, is what define pw as for a ui. Yeah sure you got a modern genesis one but I think it's way too clunky and not very practical.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I don't see much difference in space efficiency between the new UI and the old one. The squad window used to be way too big but they reduced its size in the descent expansion so that's not much of an issue anymore.
The only feature I miss from the old ui is being able to tell the gender of squad members from the class icon but it's something I can live without.
They cut support for the old UI to reduce their costs which I find understandable. They don't want to have to support two UIs going forward. Honestly they can barely support 1 UI. It seems every new feature is riddled with text alignment/localization issues.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

This game has entirely too many damn windows and menus anyway. Even with half the **** minimized (which I have to minimized every time I enter the game), I can't see but 75% of the damn screen.
I liked the old UI, but the newer one is easier on the eyes for sure. But I think the option would be nice to have (not like any of our ideas or opinions really matter to PWE unless you are Chinese)PWI Gamer since Closed Beta (Under RisenPhoenix/Nahktuul - Sanctuary/Archosaur)0 -

It's funny how you mention that. The old ui is actually all localized... The only thing they really need to do is just move some of the text around, enlarge some of the windows, and place some of the buttons on there. It would take one dedicated person about 1-2 working days, no longer than a week at most (even putting into consideration other projects that they might be doing). It took them 3 and a half years to fix the magic shell bug and that was probably 5 minutes of work.
What seems like little work to me or you or any normal person is prohibitively difficult for PWE.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Try playing the game at ~1280 x 720 and run both UIs. You'll see a huge difference.
On top of that, the new UI has annoying points where you can click between buttons and move accidentally. It's not great. aaand on top of that the Pretty shapes further reduce the area in which you can use the mouse. I have hell trying to turn my camera if I have any of my inventiry / other screens up.
It's also as mentioned already translated, it's just a little ugly and some text doesn't show due to badly sized boxes. PWE doesn't like work however so yeah, you have some point I guess. Shamefully.

Don't mention the UI scale button. It's absolutely awful. Looks bad and isn't even close to an improvement.I've quit excluding TW for my faction. But I still hang around to help out those who still enjoy the game under PWEs horrific handling and to have fun in the forums. b:cute

This, I actually prefer the current UI, but I play on a decent sized monitor. With the old UI it always kinda bugged me how the mouse cursor was lower on point with where the arrow actually was.

My main issue with the new UI is that I can barely hear the squad invitation knock-knock sound, so I always miss squad invitations.0

Personally, the only thing I liked about the old UI was the lack of flare around the hotkey bars and the map in the upper corner. I really hate how they made the new map so you can't even read the NSEW letters. I'm about ready to just **** the client to fix it and send them the files.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I decided just for the sake of it I would go back onto p2p pw and see their uis again... Screenie 1, screenie 2.
I find myself liking the brown ui over the genesis... Not sure if I just hate the genesis ui that much.

Some fun notes about p2p pw in those screen shots:
pet bag is only 5 slots
sin runs at 5.0 m/s (all chars are set that way on p2p pw)
despite having tb there is no genie
likewise there is no cash shop (obviously since it's p2p)
extra icons in the lower right; from right to left, one links to a radio (clicking on it takes you to a website), one is called find friend, one is called prerelation, and bbs (bbs as in like a sort of chat i presume).
(I have no idea what the latter three do or how to get them to work. They do exist in our files, they are just hidden.)

Fyi, the green text in the upper left of the last two tells you how much gameplay you have remaining. I think i have quite a few hours (71 hours 53 minutes?). It was freee tooo... not sure how that happened. Part of a promotion maybe?
