why prefer strength over vitality?
other heavy armor users like barbarian and blademaster, most people preferred build with vitality on them.
Now i would like to ask why when it comes to a Seeker class. most of you preferred a build without vitality. Enough dex for weapon and every points left is to strength.
Barbarians, blademaster and Seeker are all heavy armor users and i can say they are all tankers or class that can tank. but why no vitality to seekers?.
btw, I understand why Assassin doesn't need vitality and the excellent reason is that they need to get the highest damage as possible because they need to kill their target as fast as possible. they can stun lock the enemy where they can kill them with out getting attack back. and they have the invisible skill where the first attack and initiative are granted to them because of it.
I also need this kind of answer why Most of you prefer Seekers without putting any points in vitality.
i really thank you in advance for the knowledge that you may share to me.

You will find that high end Barb's and BM's (high refines) also restat their VIT back down to 3. The reasoning is that you get enough HP from high refines that more VIT makes it moot, may as well have more damage and/or crit.0

Seekers defs level buff is substantial enough to compensate for lack of HPs early on- and the defs covers both mag/phys defenses- So in theory, you absorb more damage than what vit would have given in HP anyway- so it is simply better (to most of us seekers) to put out more damage versus have a few extra pounds of HP.
Vit only upside is raw HP- the p-def you get from it is pretty pointless with the deminishing returns, and the fact of being HA- you'll already be packing on the p-def.re0 -
my seeker is going on 96 and has exactly 9000 hp soon to be OVER 9000!!!next lvl.Im adding to str now till 100-101.This game is like washing hair with shampoo... Rinse and repeat if desired.
Proud owner of many mains.101 bm,101 seeker,101 demon sin,100 sage sin,101 archer,101 barb,100 cleric,100 wiz( first toon since sept 08 finally made it in 2013)newly added mystic 100 HA,72 psy.0 -
thanks guys for your infos and help.
anyway, i think i can answer this question now my self.
based on the type of skills the seekers have. i can say that Seekers are normally a nuker and a damage dealer that can tank. As a nuker/damager, offense should be highly prioritize. the fact that seekers spend almost 150+ points to the other stat(dex), Seekers don't have enough points to spend to other stats (like vit orint) to maintain its decent damage because if you choose to spend the remaining 100 points to vit or int, the seekers' damage will be weaken. and as a damager, that's not a good idea and making you ineffective damager.
and when we look at the high level seekers, most of them remove their points in vit and they put it to str.
i think not adding vit is not a problem because of the shards and refines. Defense is not a problem too because seekers are heavy armor users. Seekers also have a decent magic defense because of the selfbuff A.Numbess that increase the defense level by 30 and that really boost our magic defense significantly.
the fact that Seekers don't have sufficient and reliable control type of skills like stuns and paralyze, Seekers depends on its long range attacks and aoe's. To make those skills effective, it should be powerful enough...
so i think 7 str, 3 dex every 2 levels is a good build and choice for seekers.
(btw, i have this build since the beginning and i don't have any problems about my hp so far).0 -
The seeker is an extremely versatile class (can tank, go DPM or DPS). Most people I know go the DPM route - the damage dealer. If you're not tanking (tanking is basically charging in and killing everything while taking a lot of damage), you have no use for the extra HP as you don't get hit as often. You know, basic logic and MMO mechanics.0

simply i would preffer strength because when you reach end game or nearin g endgame gears, your gear refines give you a additional vit bonus therefore you can use a reset note to take away some vit that you (originally) have from your build and use it for more strength0
