My Treasure Hunt Luck

alternate topic title: Why I don't open packs

So yeah, I have absolutely no luck on the treasure hunt stuff. Even on double drops, I don't get anywhere. Dunno why I keep trying, really, other then I have heard from the lucky ones about them getting multiple map 5's and Chrono pages out the yin yang.

So I tried again just now. First map led to a spot below Broken Bridge village. I am pretty good at finding spots on the map. I have tried the treasure hunt a total of 47 times on three toons. Wasn't expecting anything, so when the boss dropped a single map 2 (only the 7th time this has happened) I was shocked. Opened it, saw the spot was near timberfield, headed that way. Map spot was above the logs outside the north of the village. Was nervous, the spot I was looking for appeared to be right there at them. Flew around, and was thrilled again when the chest spawned to the right of them. Dug the chest and waited for the boss

here we go. Boss stuck inside the logs. can't get at it melee, and it resets while shooting at it with my bow. FML! So I run all around those logs trying to get at the boss, and was lucky enough to find a pixel that let me walk in between the logs and fight it. Still reset twice during the fight, but finally I was able to defeat it. Couldn't see what, if anything it dropped, so i just spammed my pickup hot key and was over joyed to get a map 3 Only the third I've ever gotten!

Excited now and hopeful for the first time in a long time with this game, I opened it and saw that is lead to the 100PQ area by raging tides. I head down, auto path to Northern Desolence, fly around a crater there, see the pop up, look down for the chest

FARKING CHEST IS INSIDE THE DAMN ROCK!!!!!!!!! Great going PWi, you sure showed me! How dare I have a hope in this game. Only a Scroll of Tome will make up for this outrage!

This is the reason I don't open packs. My luck is horrid. In this game Chance=NoChance for meb:surrender

    i saw one chest spawn in arch and those bosses killed like 15 ppl in arch including me and couple catshops lol

    Lol I know how you feel man. My luck runs about the same lines. I quit doing the treasure hunt a while back mainly because I never got anything besides the coin drops from them.

    Treasure maps are one the the few things actually worth gambling on (only during 2x, and gaurentteed you make out on average) but the thing is, you need a LOT of characters that can do it every day in order to see how good it actually is(im talking about close to 10 chars that can do it every day). Chances to get a purple map are about 1 in 21 so if your using only 1 char,through the intire 2x you probably wont get a purple.
    full 3r9 +11/12 (still using immac shards though) w/o CSing, leveled to 105 spaming pv, yes i have no life =D

    i only do et on my bm, got it twice, once on 2x and once on 1xb:pleased

    I have been doing this during 2x and got 3 map #5 so far I got 2 genesis and 1 skylord map and got 6 chorno pages so far but I had 12 map#1 and a couple map #2 saved up in my bank waiting for 2x so that's not a lot.

    Done it three times. Never seen the next map. Gave up and went and did something else more fun/profitable/less disappointing/more exp and sp/yadda yadda/radda radda.

    I realize the random chance things and all so its not an auto thing. But when you're new to the quest, do it, and its a waste of time cause the map don't drop you're like "Whoever wrote this quest is lame."

    Try pressing F9 next time. Zoom in and try to find the chest, then click on it.

    I've lost like 6-7 chests to this annoying glitch, two of them map 3's b:angry, and have yet to find any with F9, let alone be able to click on them.

    for me its like 8 out of 10 chests get stuck in a rock/mountain..w/e is in the way

    and i get like 1 "worn treasure map 2" out of 20 bosses...not even to talk about map 3 -.-"

    After doing this 5 times and at times getting NOT EVEN COIN DROPS, was like...**** this ****.

    Finally made it to a map 4, fought a double boss, and got three purple maps. Woot! Clicked on them with visions of Chrono pages dancing in my head.......level to low. FML!!!b:surrender

    Either bank them until 100, sell them, or find a trusted 100+ friend to open them for you.

    Oh, and in case 1 or 3, find a herc veno or barb/cleric team to tank the boss... they're non-soloable by APS classes due to bramble.

    You can solo them as aps person but you need to wait for the intervals when bramble runs out. lol So you gotta pot a lot while the thing hits you ._. Definately easier with a healer.

    Everytime this has happened to me with my sin, I just jump to it inside whatever its stuck in and kill it inside the rock/mountain/tree, pick up and tele out.

    Sorry for the necro, but didn't want to start a new thread.

    I have an 83 barb and 74 seeker. I used them on the first few days of x2 to get map 1's. now the daily quest is not available for either toon, though my 99 veno 101 archer and sin can still get them. Anyone know why they don't show up for the barb and seeker now?

    My luck was decent on the first few days. got four map 5's. but the last twod ays not even a map 2 on the three toons I can take the quest with. And nothing spawning inside rocksb:laugh

    You should have just started a new thread. You're wasting people's time having them read through 3 pages of year old posts just to get to your question.

    Your characters are probably low on coins, the quest costs 77k or so. If you don't have the coins, you don't get the quest.

    yep, that was it. 88K for the quest and i only had 70 or so on both the toons. TY for the reply and sorry you had to read through the pages to get to it :)
