Most of these are tested. If I happen to have one wrong that hasn't been tested, please leave a comment with correct information, I will edit my post as soon as possible.

NOTE: For those who don't know, a lot of the animals I put in "rare pets" are not usually listed as rare, but if you go to the Auction House>Filter, look where you would normally find rare pets. There will be a list of a lot of pets, all of these are mentioned.




These are where to find rare pets, there level and spawn hours, plus event pets.

There is two zoologists, both placed in Archosaur. They are used to create baby pets, which you can use rares to do so. Talk to the Zoologist and They explain how to do it, It's not hard.

Unfortunately, there is no exact spawn time for any rares, they spawn 12 hours from the last time they were tamed (example: If caught at 5:30pm they wouldn't spawn till 5:30am that next morning) Trying to get them takes luck. In my opinion taming is the easy part, camping is the hardest, people will try to PK you if you are higher than level 30, rares can make people get greedy and selfish, so they play unfairly so only they can get the prize. So warning you all that are trying to tame, go with a high leveled group for protection and watch out for red names and most of you should try getting a few resurrection scrolls if affordable so that you don't get sent back to town if PK'd or mobbed.

If you go to the mailbox and click slot Celestial Exchange. There will be many slots full of prizes. To get Divine Tiger Sage and Cursed Tiger demon you will need to purchase 20 celestial shards or 17 Celestial Insignia. There will be also plenty other gifts for you in there.

Acquiring Pet Slots

So, I hate to edit this so late, but I've seen a few comments from new Venomancers asking "How do I get more pet slots?" and "Where can I find/buy hay and fruit?". I decided to add it to my thread since it involved pets and I enjoy helping new Venomancers.

For a Venomancer, you originally get 2 pet slots at the beginning of the game. Other characters start with 1. In order to get more pet slots, you speak with a the "Skill Pet Trainer" You go to at level 3(Only Venomancers, any level for other class.) in order to get your first pet skills and first pet. All you have to do is go to Quest Related.

She gives you a quest for a 3rd slot in your pet bag, you can either get a cage or get 20 hay. I recommend getting the hay, because if you choose a cage and use it, you no longer have a chance to gather hay for another pet slot afterwards. So, best choice is to gather hay. Save that cage for a 6th slot. Trust me. You can buy hay usually for 8-15k off of those cash shops or you can kill level 8 turtles near B.B Village, or Antelope pups drop them at level 30. It's a very rare drop depending on what level or % it drops. Use the atlas book that blinks on the left of your map go to items>hay>drops from. You'll get a list of monster and levels of the monsters that drop them. This works for fruit as well.

After you get your 3rd slot, go back to her if you want a 4th slot, get her new quest, it gives you the same options as before, except instead of hay, you gather 50 fruit. It would be so much simpler to buy fruit then gather it, especially if you are a low level. Because Fruit won't get dropped for quite a while and if you do decide to loot it, it would take a long time to get all of it.

5th slot you have to get 100 fungus.

After you've gotten the 3rd, 4th and 5th slot, anything further on you must use a cage in order to get a pet slot. You can also get a super cage, that allows maximum pet slots open(10 slots).

This is another question I've seen/been asked. "How much hatched pet's can be summoned at once?"
Only one, including an all class pet or mount. If you have a pet out and then want to ride on a mount, your pet will be stowed back in your pet bag.

    =) Neat guide!

    Something I think should be added to the Venomancer Battle Pets, the new rare battle pet Derjan's Ancient Hatchling. As far as I know, once tamed it's untradeable, so I would consider it among the Herc and Nix.

    I see you linked it, and I hate to point it out, but it seems kind of a copy paste of PWwiki Rare Pet Taming Guide with mostly the same information, along with some personal tips at the end.

    You did a good job, it looks great, but I feel you created a guide that was already there. Although I do notice you have things like event pets and pet crafting compiled in here where ecatomb has a seperate page, and PWwiki has a second page for those.

    Mayfly and ChaoticShelly, Sorry. I'm a tad bit new to making threads. :P If you read this, mind explaining how I can move it?

    Sakubatau, some of the information I got from sites, but I never copy/paste. Some I actually tested out. Honestly, didn't even notice the "personal tips" until I just clicked on the link. I gave that from experience. Also, this is mostly for new Venomancers. When I was new to the game I had no clue about these sites until a year ago. Most new players only think to look in forums. Plus, I've gotten friends to request this since I got rare pet crazy and they wanted a bit of help.

    Thanks for the feedback. :) If you find anything else I should fix, please comment. I accept critical opinions. Just please ask in the nicest way :3 It will be fixed.

    Well, last time i got that quests done was 50 fruit and theres a last one for the 5th pet slot with 100 fungus.

    The all class baby crab is a pet you can get from wedding quest.

    The baby parrot is from the PvP event every night theater of blood.

    The baby parrot is the only all class pet i never saw in game yet, i think no one have it.

    The Dark Assassin (''Black'') pet is from PQ2.

    You have a 10% chance to get it from a Sack of Surprise which takes quite a few PQ's to get.

    It may also be in Raging Tides, or something similar. I've seen something close to it, if not the creature itself, while farming.
