Holding aggro on pulls

Ok so I've had some trouble today holding aggro on pulls. I round the mobs up, roar, invoke and then sunder when possible. Yet a psy or wiz can pull aggro in one shot which makes it seem pointless to even try roaring... is this normal, and is there anything else I can do differently?

You should use frighten and if possible use untamed wrath as well as surf impact and swell (use slam only if you know the mobs wont be knocked back i.e. they are immobilisied.)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

some might think this is an dumb way or wrong... well it's alternative and i like a lot.. when i was 99-100 i used to hold aggro with some damage boost.. i used to start with solid shield instead of invoke (if you has a cleric you'll not die) roar > sunder (helps to not die) > frighten. if the mobs still alive, after frighten > surf > go human and slam.0

I`m assuming this is bout FC? Firstly, you push bestial rage on right before you stop to invoke. After this, roar-->Sunder->surf. If mobs are not dead by then, use frighten and wait for surf CD. If wizzie/psy 1shot aggro, they just fail at their class and any QQ should be ignored. Roar + Sunder + Surf should be enough aggro to hold FC pulls on you as long as all of the skills mentioned are lvl 10. Another thing that helps is using Jones instead of O`malleys if you having problems holding aggro.
If you slam in FC pull, you`re just an idiot. If you want to go humanoid and AoE, just Arma. Slam will push mobs into million directions and it will likely push some mobs outta AoEs, actually costing time instead of winning it. How I know? I almost kicked the idiot archer using their pushback skill annoying the hell out of everybody.Trolling Sid since So Hot0 -
before pull to bb+aoe do:
rage+invoke+swing+arma+slam then go in bb and use solid shield then u can slam so mobs don't all hit one dd-er and kill him0 -
Pretty much what everyone else has said. I rarely invoked in FF, just used solid shield, frighten, sunder, surf impact. If you have had bestial rage activated you should have full chi soon after, then frighten and sunder again if you have it.
If your DDs are pulling aggro after this, keep your trigger finger on the alpha male genie skill . In all honesty though, if you keep the mobs frightened, it will reduce the amount of damage that the DDs take. And with all that extra chi, a nice arma will kill the majority of the mobs that are left alive.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Ok ty all for the input, once I get enough spare spirit I'll work on levelling frighten some more as its only level 5 atm, and I'll try spamming what other AoEs I can. Working on alpha male genie, just need some LP and I can learn it0

this combo works for me
buff, full chi, true form to tiger, invoke, bestial rage, roar, frighten, surf impact, sunder, drag mobs to zen, true form to humanoid, untamed wrath, genie skill Tree of Protection, BM gets off his heavens flame, sin subsea strike, armageddon, true form to tiger, getchur popcorn and watch the carnage
the sunder keeps you on the mobs aggro table and the hf/subsea/tree of perdition launches you to the top of the aggro table and there's not too many DD going to steal aggro before majority of mobs are dead
b:boredI did not feel the treachery or inconstancy of a friend, nor the injuries of a secret or open enemy. I had no occasion of bribing, flattering, or pimping, to procure the favour of any great man, or of his minion; I wanted no fence against fraud or oppression: here was neither physician to destroy my body, nor lawyer to ruin my fortune; no informer to watch my words and actions, or forge accusations against me for hire: here were no gibers, censurers, backbiters, pickpockets, highwaymen, housebreakers, attorneys, bawds, buffoons, gamesters, politicians, wits, splenetics, tedious talkers, controvertists, ravishers, murderers, robbers, virtuosos; no leaders, or followers, of party and faction; no encouragers to vice, by seducement or examples; no dungeon, axes, gibbets, whipping-posts, or pillories; no cheating shopkeepers or mechanics; no pride, vanity, or affectation; no fops, bullies, drunkards, strolling prostitutes, or poxes; no ranting, lewd, expensive wives; no stupid, proud pedants; no importunate, overbearing, quarrelsome, noisy, roaring, empty, conceited, swearing companions; no scoundrels raised from the dust upon the merit of their vices, or nobility thrown into it on account of their virtues; no lords, fiddlers, judges, or dancing-masters.

For FCC bestial rage-> invoke->roar-> Sunder-> Surf-> Frighten->Surf. Typically most mobs die as you Sunder so more skills isn't always needed but Sunder is one of your best DD skills to help glue aggro after a roar.
For Delta, the above is a pretty good combo. I like to use Untamed Wrath after my Arma because it interupts and stuns mobs, which is very useful because it gives you time to recover the health Arma took. I also might consider placing Frighten skill closer to going human.
I also don't like spending too much time away from zhening point doing the pull. A faction conversation got started when a wizard was complaining about their Delta barb taking about 45 seconds to glue aggro because they'd round up the mobs, invoke, roar, sunder, surf, frighten,... and then bring them back to bb. This left them with about a minute to kill the mobs before the next wave. As one factionmate said, "4 real DDs are sitting back waiting for the barb. He's doing 20k damage while 400k damage sits and does nothing."
And I agree. I know I do less aoe damage than a wizard, seeker, or bm. It's learning to race the mobs hp with the amount of aggro you've place. If the mob will die in a few seconds that doesn't take much. If it takes a longer time to kill you are more likely to lose aggro. That's why I try to compile as much dd as I can as early as I can. I invoke-> back to zhen point and bestial-> Surf while I wait for HF-> time my Sunder and Arma combo to HF-> Untamed Wrath-> Surf->Frighten->repeat. I can usually do 100k+ dmg on [?] mobs with this combo and hopefully take out half the mobs in the process.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play.
