Upsides: Beautiful game, wide range of character customizations.

Downsides: Not too many new players, not many to squad with for low level quests. One class dominates 1v1 PVP, if that's what you're interested in.

Key thing here is end game and if you are up for it. End game "enjoyment" IMHO will require some sort of cash shopping, whether it be charms or hypers etc. especially if you plan to territory war with a faction or pvping. You can play this game for free but at a halted pace and with much less ease versus cash shopping, and to be competitive on the larger scale of pvp you got some pretty big wallets to compete with.

I play this game for free, and it will remain that way since im a lot more casual then some and I find enjoyment in what I play the game for which is some mob killing and questing.

    ^aside from this,
even if you don't want to shop online by the use of the real money from your wallet you can still get good money ingame but it takes a lot of time. for example:

    1. do buy and sell. buy known and easy to sell items like mounts and flying device for a low price (some people sell their stuff for a very low price because they need the money immediately) and sell it in a normal price. i earned millions this way but it takes so much time, like leaving your game for a day for vending.

2.) in this game, most people buy loots from other people. so its good to sell the loots from this real people vendors than to sell it in the NPC.

3.)there are many uses of loots from monsters in this game that you can use to make money. and there are also plants and minerals that you can dig from the ground to use it to make money too. (use google, to locate where to get this plants and minerals).
like me, Im using these minerals to make wines and sell it cheaper than the wines from the NPC and i generate millions on it.

In this game, you can exchange your ingame money in the auction NPC to buy some items in the Item mall.

4.) you may try to beg to some people ingame some might give you enough money if your lucky..

By they way marketing in this game is also so damn fun and very addicting. especially if the transactions is already in millions..

lastly, you can also make money by helping people. especially if your character is already highly leveled with good gears. and you can also make millions by finishing some dungeons if you have high level char too.

^ Good advice. As the above said, playing the market and knowing what to sell and for what price will be key in relieving some of that stress of having coin in game. If you are very patient, diligent and have time you can make money from nothing, but do your research.

Check out the player shops in archosaur see what people are selling, what the trend is and capitalize on it. Undercut other player shop items and sell any gear drops that you think you can make any reasonable profit off (this would not include white named gear)

If you are just starting out, Bank quest DQ items is a decent way to gain a bit of coin cushion for making more cash and sustaining your character.

And I agree with benny, being a merchant and playing the market can be a very fun and addicting part of the game if you are in to that aspect.
