Experimenting a different BM build

There are a couple high dex Bms around that use a similar build. Its normally for two reasons, they have an archer or a sin and want to use their already refined gear, or they want an endgame bm that can use a purge or -int bow.

The first reason is more common, heck there are a few LA barbs around that have +10 LA equip and didn't also want to refine HA gear. They do have high hp but take more damage than the average barb.

Will this build work? Yes, but it won't be the most effective. Your pdef is poor, your mdef is poor, your damage is poor, your crit rate is only slightly higher, and your triple sparked dps will be about the same. Your golden bell and marrows will be less effective because you will have less of a defensive base. It will take you longer to kill things because of your lack of str (all your melee weapons are based off of strength for damage) and so you'll take more damage while killing slower.

If you are doing this for more mdef from LA, just switch out your ornies to be mdef and use the CoA rings. If you are doing this because you want to use bow, a level 42 penetrator combined with farstrike/drake's ray works pretty well. Plus, bm's rarely use bows for longer than a couple seconds. No point basing a build off it. If you are doing this for a higher crit rate, you are sacrificing dph on every attack for a 1-2% higher crit rate, for an overall loss.

If you want to be a special snowflake...go for it. But in the end you may be looked at funny, like the sword only, or pole only BMs.

Enough dex to use pretty much any bow in the game, and enough str to still use R9 axes if I ever get them. I like having a higher crit, higer accuracy, and higher evasion. Trust me that evasion has saved my life more times than I can count. I like hitting people with my lunar bow for lulz, and I use it to kill harpies in FC. I also use the bow to kill those dang kiting mobs in morai.


Now I've done the math, if I put that 100 extra dex into str I will do 17.5% more dps unsparked. However when demon sparked that dps falls all the way down to just a 2.5% difference. 2.5% is really not much of a difference for me to care. However if I ever do become a serious pvper I WILL restat my dex to str.

That build is um, ive never seen anything like that before. Your hp is alot higher than many bms i have seen but your physical defense is a bit low but heck as you said its about having fun

I think I said it before, I like efficiency and pushing limits with the best gear/playstyle I can manage. If you want something different, like a high crit LA build - if thats fun for you, go for it.

Nothing against heavy venos but aps venos? Why? Whyyy?

Well I started my aps veno a year ago to be the #1 veno in celestial tiger event but I never finished it... I am only finishing it now for lulz, really.
