Downloaded Descent and now the game won't open?

A few days ago I spent 5 hours downloading the new Descent update for the game. After I was done, I tried to press Start and log on, but it said that it didn't download correctly/ files were missing. I then tried to restart my computer to see if that would help, it didn't. So I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game. When I reinstalled it, I tried to install the old Genesis instead of Descent. The same messages appeared. What should I do?

    its not the fact that the game didnt download correctly its the fact that you didnt read the file error the new perfect world international decent requires two programes not of perfect world in order to run, google the error as i did and you will be able to fix the problem with out anyones help... b:cool

    I've had this problem for over a week, it's fustrated me to the point I gave up.
    I've done the same thing, re-installing uninstalling, restarting my computer.
    Downloaded the direct x updates nothing worked or changed.
    I've checked my driver devices as well and everything is updated.
    I gave up on playing this game, and i'm really sad about it.
    There is nothing I can do about the corrupted files when it downloads fine and everything else is fine. b:cry

    You'll need to get dxwebsetup...And update through that to the latest software :) It will automatically do everything

    i have the same issue, i just got done downloading directx and it opened and everything, but for some reason, it wont let me log in, instead, a message pops up saying that i'm on "log in time out" and it keeps doing that. and i know i have my user and password correct. what should i do?

    if i log in when i play for 2 minutes its keep me getting out of the game i log in again the same thing will do can yo help me to fix this?

    Try this if you have DirectX 9.0c already installed and if nothing else works... It's not a 100% this will work for everyone but it's really easy and safe to do so it's really worth a try... And it actually helped a lot of ppl already... I'll hope it works for you as well... b:victory

    I shouldnt have to install direct x.The game should operate on its own.Just my opinion.So I am uninstalling PWI...

    You need to relog.

    2:
    If it still keeps doing that, you need to update and verify Patch 1 and 2. Make sure the animation doesnt go REALLY fast, that means it didnt work.

    3: Go to your "computer" folder. "Perfect world entertainment" folder. "Perfect world international" folder. Then "Patcher" and "patcher" icon.

    Update with both 1 and 2 patchers.

    4: If all else fails, restart with no programs except Pw.

    I am getting an error message after i click start but the error message is in random symbols and if i click ok on that then i sometimes get another message but that one apears to quickly and it vanishis again... PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP!!!!

    1).Don't Necro Threads
    2).Post your with Screenshots of the errors you getting.
    3).Verify your Client
    4).Add PWI to your antivirus/firewall exceptions list
    5).You may have to be on a Windows Admin account, or have Run as Admin access to be able to download, install, update, and run the game. If on Windows Vista or 7, you may have to change the level of your UAC settings or turn them off temporarily.
    6).Remove/Uninstall any unnecessary programs such as toolbars or Pando Media Booster.
    7).Make sure your system meets the minimum system requirements. If you are not sure if you meet the system requirements you can run a DXDIAG to check.
    If your system is above the minimum system requirements try updating the Microsoft Visual C++ library as in some cases this can correct these errors.
    8).Installing the East-Asian language packs
    9).f you encounter a DirectX error, dll error, or invisible characters, you can try updating with this on Windows 7, Vista, and XP:
    Web Installer
    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35 Then restart your computer.
    You will need to install this if you get those kinds of errors, even if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 so that DirectX 9 files can be copied over to the right spot.
