Can you remove sockets from armor/weps?

I put a few sockets on the wrong armor, any way to remove and possibly reuse them?

    You can have them removed, but you will "lose" them.

    You cannot reuse them once they have been socketed.

    I don't think you can remove sockets themselves. Perhaps RedsRose was talking about shards, which you can remove by selecting the 'Purify Equipment' option at the blacksmith.
