I am level 46I am having trouble finding the right way to position skills on my skill bar. If you could screen shot your bar and tell me how your use it or how it's ordered that would be amazing!(If you have any macros just say what skills are in it.) Thanks b:kiss

Heres some info if you need it. :
I'm a support cleric. My only and main attacking skills I use are Wield Thunder, Great Cyclone, and Plume Shot. As for healing skills I use Wellspring Surge and Ironheart Blessing. Genie skill I use for Oh **** I'm about to die! moments is Second Wind till I get ToP. I don't use the seals unless I'm cursing bosses. I use my buffs alot. :p

At F1-F8 hotkey bar i got my attack skills, pots, charms, and buffs.
At 1-9 I got all the heal skills, pills, 'e' actions, mount....

Pretty much it depends on your keyboard and how confortable you feel playing with Fkeys or 1keys.

I recommend you create two macros for buffs, one with squad buffs and the other one with single buffs, it saves time.

Attack macro: Walk behind enemy (repeat) cyclone, W.thunder, cyclone, plume.
Heal macro: since you just have 2 heal skills.... those both and done xP.

Once you reach more level should be nice create differents heals macro where you can focus on a single target or other adding squad heals and also do not forget to add purify

I have skills in F1-F8, F4 is always for IH,and in F8 i have shields. Other Fx each row i have attacks at one row and seals and debufs at one and heals and misc at the last one. When I know i'm going to use some skill i dont have in F keys I expand 1-9 and add those there. But i'm quite comfortable to use skill window and click skill i want from there.
    1-9
1 mana,2 cloud eruption,3 hp,4pick,5AD,6fly,7holypath,8meditate,9mount. When i have have apos in use i expand 1-9 and add those there and use them with mouse clicks.

    skillbar.jpg

This is my one and only set-up of my skill bars. It works perfectly for me, and some buttons share the same location as they do on my other characters, which is why they might seem a bit out of place (such as teleport, fly, mount, potions etc).

I always tend to stick towards the 1-4 and f1-f4 side of the keyboard, which is why my most used skills are there. The f-row is for healing, buffing and general skills only, whilst the 1-9 bar is for attack and debuffs. Also, the skills on the secondary rows are those I don't use as often and I always navigate to them with the mouse when I do.

My genie skills also stay off my hotkey skillbar, just because I find it more convenient to mouse to them instead and because I've been using this set-up so long, I automatically reach for them near the genie even if I do have them placed on the skillbar.

    Hope it helped!

    Here's mine.

One thing that I would recommend (even tho I have it backwards) is to put heals on the F# keys. This way, if you happen to be typing, you can still heal when you want to and your chats look like:

    Cleric: Add222222222222222222222222222222222

Some things that are not as obvious about my skillbar:
    - The empty slot on the right is filled with one of God's Light, Zooming Thunder Powders, or Charger Orbs. Two of those will be moved to the top of the left bars once I decide on a new arrangement I like.
    - Thunderball (F4) and Razor Feathers (F6) get swapped around a lot. Thunderball is on F4 when I do Caster Nirvana.
    - The macros I have are primarily for duel clienting and/or buffing. I wouldn't recommend using macros if you're actually sitting at the cleric's screen. But here's what they are, in case you're curious.
-- Blue Flour de Leis macro: Walk Behind -> IH -> Wellspring -> IH -> Wellspring -> IH -> [Stream of Rejuvination or Purify, depending on what I'm doing]
-- Phoenix Feather macro: Single target buffs, followed by Wellspring
-- Green cicles macro: AOE buffs, followed by CHB
-- Macro below Run/Walk: Walk Behind -> Dimensional Seal -> Elemental Seal -> Spirit's Gift -> Cyclone -> Wield Thunder -> Cyclone -> Plume Shot
-- Blue Lotus macro: afk chi/mana macro: Walk Behind -> IH -> Celestial Guardian's Seal
-- Tablet macro (used while dual clienting RB and holding bosses): Walk Behind -> Spirit's Gift -> IH -> Wield Thunder -> IH -> Great Cyclone -> IH -> Plume Shot

I'm a click the button on the screen to do a skill or to move type of cleric, and one that doesn't use the keyboard for skills, so what I did was to drag both skill boxes to the bottom of the screen so that they are horizontally across. My genie skills are skill at the top. I don't know how to show you the screenshots that are on here, or I would.

I don't think that I explained it well, but that's the best that I can do.

    Hope that helps some. :)

I am a terrible, terrible macro abuser.

Should also be noted that I do change my skillbars for TW. Too lazy to post that atm though.

I'm a clicker. And my cleric's not really that active anymore, so excuse the lack of big demon skills :p

    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/687/myraskillbars.jpg/

Macros in front of buff rows are buff macros. The blue star is a macro of IH > Wellspring. Next to it is a macro of both demon defense single buffs for chi.

My skillbar setup slowly evolved into a mashup for my both clicker and keyboard style.
The QQ side: I have no room for the new skills. wtb more spaces.
The plus side: I have enough combos of macros to afk for a while and not be caught. b:laugh

the best thing to do is group similar things together. i dont have anywhere to upload a ss of my skill bars, but basically i try not to have to click on stuff cos i tend to click and drop and there goes my skill lol leaving an empty space where it was.

i put my heals on the F# bar just so that if im typing i can still heal. the numbered bars i use for attack skills and debuffs.

First F# bar: IH, wellspring, stream of rejuvenation, buff macro, purify, aoe heal, spark burst (for killing spiders), rezz
second F# bar: all the actions, med, pick up, fly, fly faster, attack, embrace, purehearted blessing (for chi lol), and town teleport.

numbered bar 1: plume shot, cyclone, wield thunder, aoe razor feathers, aoe siren's kiss, aoe tempest, plume shell, bb, rb.
numbered bar 2: mag debuff, phys debuff, silence debuff, sleep debuff, wings of protection, sage skill +50 chi, spark burst+, blank (so i dont accidentally do something when i want bb), 3rd spark.

any other skills i need i open up the skill list and click on whichever i want to use, which is usually the aoe buffs.

I'll see if I can add a screen shot at a later time. For now, I'll see what I can remember (due to maint, no screen to cheat off lol). Please note that where I mention macro, that isn't where one always is. Those are just the locations I find easiest to put them when I need them to be accessible. Also, only "First Row" are skills I use the hot keys for. Everything else is clicked. And a third note, all the rows shown below are on my screen at all times.

    F1 - Plume Shot / Elemental Seal
    F2 - Great Cyclone / Dimensional Seal
    F3 - Razor Feathers / Silent Seal
    F4 - Siren's Kiss / Chromatic Seal
    F5 - Wield Thunder
    F6 - Tempest
    F7 - Macro / Macro
    F8 - Macro / Macro

    1 - Meditate / Macro / Macro
    2 - Fly / Purify / BB
3 - Iron Heart Blessing / Chromatic Healing Beam / RB
4 - Wellspring Surge / Aoe Buff / Wings of Protection
    5 - Revive / Aoe Buff / 79 Skill
    6 - Vanguard Spirit / Aoe Buff / Charm-Macro
    7 - Magic Shell / Aoe Buff / Mount
8 - Celestial Guardian Seal / Stream of Rejuvenation / Pickup
    9 - Spirit's Gift / Plume Shell / Spark

    MACROS:
    1) Healing Macro #1 ->> Repeat, IH, Wellspring
    2) Healing Macro #2 (Purify) ->> Repeat, IH, Wellspring, Purify
    3) Attack Macro #1 ->> Repeat, IH, Dimensional Seal, Elemental Seal, O Spirit's Gift, Wield Thunder, Plume Shot, Great Cyclone
    4) Attack Macro #2 ->> Repeat, Elemental Seal, Wield Thunder, Plume Shot, Great Cyclone
    5) Attack Macro #3 ->> Repeat, O Spirit's Gift, Razor Feathers, Plume Shot, Great Cyclone (may have deleted this one, I forget)
    6) Chi Macro ->> Repeat, O Vanguard Spirit, O Magic Shell

personally, i have my main attack skills (p-shot, cyclone, wield, elven boon), IH, purify, flight, and chrome heal on the first row; some aoe on 2nd row; and macros on the 3rd row of the F1-8 bar.

as for the other bar, i got actions, pots, mount, chi, and sparks. also have gear changes.

my thing is very messy and i have still adapted to figure out how to use it efficiently, which means no matter how u put it, play it for a while and you will get the hang of it. just make sure you dont switch it around too much.

All of the above posts are good ways to set up your hotkeys, but I would recommend you build it yourself and make sure you're comfortable with it. Never imitate someone else's hotkey layout unless it also works well for you. I doubt that my hotkey layout will work for everyone, but who knows? Maybe there are other clerics like me? Because I kinda feel like an oddball compared with the others in the thread. Here's why.

I am... a clicker, an avid hotkey user and I multi-task like crazy. b:chuckle All in one! How much do I multitask? All the damn time, so a good hotkey layout is key.

I click genie skills, so I have none on my hotkeys. Doesn't matter much though since I don't spam them.

1 - Wellspring (Alternate - pick up action. You can pick things up by clicking them, but I'm a multitasker! It's essential. Got it on almost all of my chars.)/Tempest
    2 - Plume shot/Empty
3 - Master Li's technique (You get it at 89 if you go sage - very handy for clerics!)/Silent Seal
    4 - Great Cyclone/Chromatic Seal
    5 - Wield thunder/Razor Feathers

That is my grinding/attack/DD setup. These are the hotkeys I use often but pressing 1-5. I only really use numbered keys because using F1-F9 feels like testing out a new keyboard on Mars. That's just me though... so don't worry. xD The 1-9 keys are my primary skills that can get me though any instance without the assistance of other skills. Yes, they are awesome, but usually not necessary. My setup is made so that I can position my hand on the left if I am the secondary healer (DD cleric, which is sometimes) or if I am the primary healer (usually), I position my hand to the right. That leaves the mouse free to move or to click the secondary skills and genie skills if needed.

6 - Flying (Hey, it's the default and it works... I can never be bothered to move it when it's prompt use saved my life in making a quick escape from rabid mobs.)/Stream of Rejuvination

Here's my healing setup. I use these hotkeys a lot in squad.

    7 - Ironheart Blessing/Dimensional Seal
    8 - Chromatic Healing/Elemental Seal
    9 - Purify/Empty/Sage spark

Purify comes in handy. Ironheart blessing is essential - I also use it while grinding or fighting tough mobs. Despite its usefulness as a heal for grinding or solo work, I keep it on the healing toolbar because I often need to use it as a primary heal in squad.

Above these primary skills I keep all the secondary ones - Tempest, stream of rejuvination, silent seal, razor feathers, dimensional seal, elemental seal. With the exception of the last two, they are not often used, so I just click them whenever the situation calls for it. There are times when these skills come in handy, but I don't use them all the time except the defence-reducing debuffs.

On the F1-F9 skill bar I put the essential skills that I need but don't spam. All four buffs, revive, mediate, town portal, siren's kiss, RB, BB, plume shell, wings of protection and purehearted blessing. I click them too, so order really doesn't matter. I do have this setup though on the first two rows.

    F1 - Vanguard Spirit/Greater Protective Aura
    F2 - Magic Shell/Aegis spirit
    F3 - Celestial Guardian Seal
    F4 - Spirit's Gift/Exalted Renewel
    F5 - Pick (obsolete, I don't use it)/RB (Heaven's Wrath)
    F6 - Revive/BB (Rejuvination Aura)
    F7 - Meditate/Empty
    F8 - Town Portal/Plume shell

The Empty slots are basically macros I don't use anymore. They were useful in TW, but since I don't TW anymore, they have fallen out of use. Scattered throughout the upper echelons skillbar are also mounts/pets, pots and herbs. I click them so the organization is haphazard and almost non-existant. I do have an attack macro one the higher parts of the skill bars but it's rarely used except in cube.

Yes, I said it. I'm a chronic multitasker who rarely uses macros as cleric... and I can still multitask quite well. Odd, huh? b:chuckle
