Hi guys.

I have a sage sin with the flowing gears:

I have saved enough gold for R9 ring. I am in a dilemma:
- buy the R9 ring
- use the money for refines and get something like this:

Thank you for any useful tips.

(get my gears to +10 and DoT them or get R9 weapon then work on my gears - i think the best way to do it is the first one)

    Personally I'd go for the second option, though I would swap the warsoul of earth for the second cast nirvana helmet to give you the first set bonus of 5 attack levels, and then refine from there.

    A +10 WoE with decent gens is around 130m
    To get Nirvana helm +10 it and DoT it would cost almost 3 times that so in terms of money this is the best way to go.

    well i whould ask if u are more pve or pvp on ur sin. if more pvp go for r9 if more pve i'd put another sign of frost and refine it for better pdef. I aslo whould go for nirvana helmet renember that with it u will not only get the att lvl bonus from set but few more points for dex

    I'd recommand to go for the refines first, then reshard with what you want as final shards, after work on r9 and as final step work on socketing everything to max. I'd change for the nirvana hat too, but at the next 2x.

    Ofc, sales and such will make that you don't follow exactly the order you set out in advance, but it's just the priority chain I'd recommand. Also, between your current gear + r9 ring and the other calc you put in, I'd prefer the second. In survivability it's just way better. You already have a good weapon, so honestly, work a bit on armor before dumping in more attack power.

    If you don't want to wait till all armor is to +10, I'd say at least +10 on the G13+ items and +7 on the rest before getting r9.

    Anyone who even begins to consider R9 ring while neither not going for R9 nor having +12 refine on their weapon is an idiot. Simple as that.

    Oh and in the event that you are going for the weapon, the ring alone isn't going to do much. And going R9 while your refines suck is the worst possible idea.

    At the moment the refines are decent for most things PVE related and if i would +12 the weapon then go R9 that would be a big waste (almost half of the cost for the R9 to +12 the current daggers) and please do not insult me. I just asked for an opinion. I know the steps to take until getting R9 for my sin but i asked for the opinion based on this sale (-20% R9 sale). I didn't used the money for refines because of the crappy sales lately.

    I respect you for the opinions u give on this forums (objective and trying to educate most of the sin community) so please don't judge me only on one post that i made.

    @ Empu i think i will follow the steps that you told me (maybe refine gears first and get nirvana helm last - i am still in balance between WoE and helm because of the cost of both of them at +10) and this kind of advice i wanted to hear.

    As much as I'd encourage you to jump into the R9 bandwagon while it's on sale, I believe it's wiser and best to go for the refines and DOT's right now since latter's prices escalate weekly (if not daily) whereas R9 items have more stable prices.

    In addition, you will need the refines more for greater survivability in soloing instances and stuff for farming. Not to mention, given that your pair of daggers is +10, you won't find it difficult to find squad for Nirvana, 2x or not, being the sage sin that u are.

    Sorry for being the real noob here, but I'm currently using WoE right now too, but which helmet is the nirvana one you're talking about here? Thinking about switching too, if that really is recommended...

    I know dear friend and as i discussed with you many times i am still considering getting daggers +12 and stop here in stead of going R9. I still have enough time to decide.
    About DoT's maybe we will have some new stone with wraith lvls. But first thing to do is +10 my gears.

    Same as OP, so that would be Nirvana, right? I so suck at what kind of gear it really is, unless it is stated in the name XD When i made the build, it was just told the name of the gear, and really nirv/lunar. I know what TT is though XD

    My set up is pretty much exactly the same as the OP, except for only +8 on wep, no int. tome, and unicorn ring instead of SoF atm.

    Thanks. I was just browsing the database, and remembered I could just find the greaves and check which helm/hat I needed for the set bonus :0P

    edit: ****, I just remembered that I put a couple of vit stones into my WoE, now that was obviously a waste of money XD Maybe I should just hang on to it then. Not sure how much effect I would get from the +5 atk..

    about 200 more attack, 1 % more crit, 5 more att lvl (ofc), little more pdef(well basicly won't change), about 100 less hp

    well best will be to farm cannys instead of buing it, and for now going with warsoul. I still consider nirv helm as better but warsoul aslo isn't bad
