Hey, I'm pretty new to this game...liking it so far :D I noticed there are quite a few classes to choose ( I have a lvl19 Seeker ) and i'm wondering which class would be best for me. I like playing classes with lots of health and alot of damage :) Off-tank or bruisers as some would call it...

What would be the best/suitable class for me? Thinking about barbarian, seeker or blademaster...

Best Regards, Erik

    Blademaster.

Barbarians don't really deal that much damage unless they are R9.

Can Seeker be compared to Blademaster?

Seekers and BMs are similar in that they're both HA users with strong AoEs and the ability to function as off-hand tanks. However, later down BMs become far better at tanking bosses than Seekers.

How about soloing...which one is better?

BM can solo almost everything when you spend enough money on gear. They can go APS.

Seekers would have soloing AoE instances or pulls slightly easier thanks to the constant high damage from Yataghan Vortex while BMs would have to rely on their AoE Stun (Roar of the Pride), AoE Curse (Heaven's Flame) and criticals/zerk hits (double damage) while using a string of AoEs (both classes are healed a portion of the damage dealt if they're buffed with an Assassin's Bloodpaint). BMs could handle bosses better if they've got high APS (Attack Per Second) gear and good refines, but that gear usualy comes at lv 99+.

Is Seeker even worth playing then?

They are both great AoE classes so grinding should be of no problem for either, but if you are tanking bosses at higher levels, BMs will have far better damage output (from aps advantage) thus more able to keep aggro and more heal from Bloodpaint buff.

At lower levels, Seekers would have the edge considering their insanely high defense allows them to tank things BMs can't.

Seekers function better in a team so not much of a soloing class though.

What it boils down to...how much are you willing to spend on this game (time OR rl $$ wise).

Seekers are AWESOME for things such as Gamma/Delta/FC runs for their mass-mob killing. Not a tank class due to lack of agro control, other than large groups of mobs. I don't have a seeker so can't comment on skill/gear prices. Vortex is their best skill from what I've seen.

BM is a great class...fun for many things. The only problem with a BM: they are
EXPENSIVE!! BMs have a lot of skills worthy of leveling, which are pricey for a newcomer. Endgame gear is very expensive as well, not to even mention refines and shards. Very fun class to play, but I suggest you get a feel for the game before you start this class. Learn how to make coin first.

A Barb, however, is a very fun class to play, though harder to level at first (unless you buy FC...not recommended on a first character) due to lack of killing power. Skills are expensive, but the new endgame gear may be a great option to save hundreds of millions of coin. If you decide to try this class, I suggest you focus mainly on tiger form until high levels.
The cons of playing a barb would be: lose your true tanking ability at higher levels to aps (BM/Sin/Archer), high repair costs, decent gear is needed with hp shards along the way. You would still be highly useful for most squads for your Barb's squad buffs, mob gathering ability, and debuffs for bosses.

My suggestion...start with a barb. Endgame can be a lot cheaper since the last expansion.

My suggestions are based on PvE only since I made the assumption from the line of posts stating "bosses" and "tanking".
    lvl101 Legit archer...not 1 hyper used or multi-FC

Barbs are amazing, and fun to play, but they aren't what you're looking for if you want a DD, and barbs are the go - to tank for mid-level gameplay, so they don't really sound like the character that you want.

I would choose between the seeker and blademaster. (On that note, everyone else in this thread has provided better information then I can. XD)

you have 8 character slots per account per server, the best thing to do would be to make both a blademaster and a seeker and try them out, then play the one you like. The class you like best shakes out of the mess pretty quickly, especially if you only have two to choose from. Good luck.

For Mobs- If you like tanking truly, like to control aggro by keeping the mobs away from your DD's and like taking the hits from multiples of mobs Warsong/Delta rebirth/fcc/etc.. I suggest going as a barb, they have the aggro control skills and are effective at higher lvls if used right. They can also deal large amounts of spike damage in one pull ( rank 9 anyone? ).

For Bosses- There really isn't or no such thing as tanking bosses since the whole party is attacking one target ( this is considered ganking ). On the other hand if your looking for a soloing class for bosses, I recommend a BM. BM's can go 5.0, perma spark, and get healed from bp, as well as deal massive amounts of damage from HF.

    Overall
    Barb- better for mobs.
    BM- better for Bosses.
    Seeker- Off Tank/DD

Since I have a 100 barb and now training a 92 BM and since I have a seeker that is level 70, I can safely say that it's really dependent on what you want to do.

Someone mentioned that a barb is cheaper at endgame. This is not true. Skills are expensive and gear for endgame will be expensive for any classes. Melee or magic. It will be MORE expensive if you choose to go APS.

I chose BM over seeker because I was a bit bored of just using vortex. A BM has various AOEs that can be used in different situations. Fissure to slow down. Roar for stun. HF to allow your squad mates to deal greater damage, which makes a seeker vortex more effective too!

I suggest trying both. But since I started this BM, I'm never going back.
