yeah i haven't been very consistent with my spreadsheet but its a bit of an insight far as Sanctuary goes

The consistency is an issue, but there would be better ways to setup a spreadsheet. PM me if you're gonna stay serious about tracking. I can give you some ideas.

Really, it wasn't bad - there is some trend analysis you can get out of it, but it's got some margins that aren't reliable.

Another reason gold prices are holding steady and dropping so slowly is that it's at a bargain at the moment if any decent sale comes on. Merchants with millions-billions of coins are restocking their gold as they sell their inventory.

As an example, merchants that stockpiled 1 star orbs when they were on sale at .45 gold for 10 have been selling them for two-three times cost. As they sell these, they esentially walk over to the auction house and have the ability to buy gold at whatever the current market price is an have doubled-tripled up come the next descent sale. Think of all the players merchanting in such boutique markets that are doing this.

Gold will stay steady and continue to drop slowly until these merchants have had their fill and the needs of the players who want gold immediately have been filled. I believe that PWI would then introduce a nice sale to prevent gold from dropping below a certain figure because as mentioned earlier, for those who spend $, getting 2million is much more favourable than getting 1million.

When I started gold was at 300k each, I was too new to realize what a great deal it was but not too new to realize that it wasn't a good deal for those that spent cash. A rapture then cost $5 and to make a first stage nirvana weapon cost $500. It is more reasonable now and I believe and hope it stays fair and reasonable for all who play the game.

I gambled and bought a few thousand tokens at 9.5k a pop when they were still that cheap.
Why would anyone sell tokens for less than 10k each?

You can trade 10 Perfect-Token of Luck for a Wine, and the Wine for Triumph Money (worth 99,999 coins), which sets their minimum market price at 10k coins per Perfect-Token of Luck.

Selling Tokens for less than 10k each is just throwing away money.

    This.

    Also {tokens to tele} vs {tele sale}. Aren't tokens still king?

You can buy them even cheaper. People are too lazy to convert. And that puts tokens @ 9,999

I prefer him listing 9,999 as 10k over idiots listing tokens at 14k when they're really 14,999

Irrelevant I know, but that just annoys the hell out of me

Actually, that puts tokens at 9,999.9, but since you can't get 0.1 of a coin, I rounded up.

    That annoys me too.

There's someone in RT who constantly mispriced his tokens in his shop title (and I watched him when he would change prices, he did this every time, so I do not believe it was an accident).

    Example: Shop title: "T>12500/12000"

    Actual prices: 12600/11900

Granted, it's the buyer's fault if they don't double check what they're selling/buying for, but it just annoyed me to no end.b:surrender

It's a common merchant trick, legal but disingenious.

Also, can i get an update on gold prices in servers aside from lost city? It was 1.332mil at about 11pm eastern time. Im expecting gold to drop to maybe 1.310mil ish by morning.

I flat out don't do business with merchants who do this, period. IDC if they are selling tokens cheaper than the rest of the shops, they won't get my business (and before anyone says 'oh, yah, how much do you actually buy anyway *rolleyesbear*', I've gotta buy a Bookclip for my Barb and possibly Veno some time soon, which requires... Buying out several shop's tokens).

Even so, what if that catshop is much cheaper than the rest? You would still save a substantial amount, especially buying bookclips. Although i see your position, i dont see what you woud lose in the scenario stated above.

That could be laziness on the merchant's part. Perhaps they originally set it like that, then when they restocked and checked markets, changed their prices but didn't update the catshop name.

Wow that seems to be such a farcry from LC, gold is still at 1.340mil albeit very weakly, it will drop back to 1.332ish very soon from now...
what's causing the gold to be that ridiculously cheap in RT? lower playerbase? certain time of the day?

RT always seems to be lower in comparison. It's not the time of day, this has been the norm for weeks. I don't believe we've gotten over 1.3 mil since new years (not including the rare spike that lasts for an hour or so).

I don't think it's a smaller playerbase either. All jokes aside, RT's active population really does rival that of LC and HT.

If anything I would have to attribute it to one (or maybe both) of two things.

First, RT is the youngest NA server, so inflation hasn't occurred to the extent it has on older servers.

Second, our playerbase is "smarter", if you will. What I mean by that is, our cash shoppers are the "Go big or go home" type. They don't charge for sub-par sales. You might expect on a normal server for cash shop activity to spike with a good sale, drop with no sales, and hover around mediocre activity with the sales we have seen over the past 3 months. RT is, for the most part, all in or all out. There is very little in-between.

If that is the case, then this explanation definitely makes more sense...and I think it also have something to do with the number of merchants in RT as opposed to, say, LC? Perhaps the presence of merchants in there is kind of minimal in comparison to LC? and I'm assuming RT has a smaller player base due to its relative young age so therefore given that and the "go big or go home" mentality towards sales, the gold price is really that cheap.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that since RT is the youngest, it's also contains less. The thing is, it's for that very reason that it contains just as much as the older and more established servers.

We have tons of people who have migrated from the older servers, as well as new players, with the idea of "It's younger, so I'll have less competition." This applies to all fields. PvP, merchants, farmers, etc. On the older servers, reputations are established, patterns are developed, and routine is ingrained into the playerbase. It's this mindset, shared by so many, that has caused RT to grow.
