I did everything.. But... PWI isn't working..

So I did everything that the site said to install the game, downloaded directx 9.0, did the manual patches that were provided, verified, updated and read through all of the forums and couldn't find anything discussing the issue I'm having. The client's "Start" button lights up when it's loaded, and when I click "Start" I get an error window that doesn't say anything but a bunch of characters and symbols.. My computer meets all the system requirements. I spent half a day trying to install PWI and it doesn't even work.. wtf b:infuriated

Can anyone help me out? b:question

    I've been playing the game for over a year. Had an issue a couple months back and finally get it resolved. Now they decide to "update" the game with 10 yr old software and it has gotten bad enough where I can't do anything more than look at the start up. As soon as it starts to load, my whole computer freezes up. And this on an upgraded 1.5 year old computer. Nice, huh? Guess i shouldn't have given away my old computer.b:angry

    Hopefully they'll get things sorted out in a decent amount of time. I hope my issue isn't another unanswered case, otherwise I want all the money I put into the game BACK.....

    You wont get ur monies back hun.

    I also had those errors so I used this path to open the game until I fixed the problem.
    C: -> Perfect World Entertaiment -> Perfect World International -> Element -> Elementclient

    Thanks Snowycookie, I just tried running it through the element client and the same error box with the letters and symbols popped up. I click "Ok" and the client shuts down. I just tried re-installing it and that didn't work either. When I try to update the patches the site gave me, it just tells me that "the client versions are the same" so the 2 patches must already be taken care of? Updated and verified again, and still nothing. Where is a genius when you need one? I thought this game attracted all sorts of really smart nerds and geek squad worthy people? lol

    I am having the same problem. I redownloaded the game 2x already, and the second time I did it, I did it primarily with manual patches... Took quite a while. Didn't work. /sighs

    I get a weird error message in chinese if my graphic card hardware acceleration isn't turned on.
    Try that: right click on your desktop and select properties, go to 'settings' tab, then bottom right click on 'advanced' then select 'troubleshoot' tab and set hardware acceleration to full, apply changes and restart the launcher. Hope this helps

    Anyways, I figured out my problems yesterday. Had to do with my graphic's driver, which had been reverted when I had to take it the comp shop about 2 months back... I thought they had taken out my old graphic's card and stuck me with the baseline card, but they didn't... Thankfully. I wouldn't have been able to play PWI if it had!
