Does this change bother anyone else?

First off, my technique is to monitor virtually nothing but the squad list on the left-hand side. I watch the HP of all squad members, and click on their names when they need healing.

Before latest expansion, if you had Player A targeted, then saw that Player B needed healing and so you clicked on B's name, it wouldn't show up top & center if B was way off away from group. It would just be blank up there.

NOW, if you have A targeted, and then click on B (and B's not around), Player A's name REMAINS top & center.

So, being used to my old ways, I see a target top & center, I assume it's the one I just clicked on. But it's not. It's still the previous target.

I know it's kind of a trivial thing, but I DON'T LIKE IT! QQ!!

I guess I notice it most in instances like WS, where a player gets killed and has to run all the way back. Now I'm healing like crazy, but also waiting for the killed player to return so I can buff him. I used to quickly click his name in the list every few seconds to see if he had gotten back in range for buffs. If he wasn't back in range yet, top & center would be blank. NOW, top & center remains the last player targeted. So I have to squinch my eyes to read the name up there.

Just typing it out makes it sound really trivial, but I'm surprised at how it has altered the flow of my methods. As you all know, when healing, sometimes split seconds can make all the difference literally. And having to squinch my eyes to read the name top & center takes more than a few split seconds.

Anyway, just wish it was back the way it was.

(And btw, could the squad list be any SMALLER! I'm gonna have to go up another diopter strength on my cheaters I suppose, lol)

I'm not really bothered by what you mentioned above, but it is annoying that the squad list is small. Hard on my eyes >.<

As far as I know, that was always the case. At least, I believe it was for a long time. If it was changed, it wasn't recently so. That or I have been spending too much time on the Archer :x

    1. Get new glasses.
    2. Get a larger monitor
    3. If #1 and/or #2 are not feasible, lower your resolution a little. Even a small change can make things on the screen larger.

I'd say its time to upgrade your gameplay. Being proactive as a cleric and watching who the mob is going to attack by changing his angle or starting channeling gives you a few seconds heads up prior to them actually taking damage. You can also predict debuffs and be purifying as the hit lands, rather than an attack or two after. Damage and debuffs appear on the squad list a second or two after they actually take the damage, also.

So I see this as an opportunity for you to upgrade your playing style. I mean, obviously you are steps behind when you don't realize players are out of your healing range and even off your map.

I had the same complaint when they stopped showing combat mode with blinking red frames in the squad list. I wish they'd bring that back. Part of the reason is the vanity pets people summon in instances look like mobs chasing people on your map and you can't tell whether it is or isn't until they start taking damage. Its especially bad on my barb when cleric's summon these stupid pets and I see it following them because I'll book my furry butt back to help them, stopping what I was doing and what the whole squad was doing, only to find the cleric was behind to summon something that looked cute.

I didn't like the small quest list until I saw a 10 person squad and realized... ****, it needs to be that small. A 10 person squad looks massive.

Only time I could imagine this pissing me off would be in TW when I'm trying to figure out who is in healing range without relying on the mini map (we all know the mini map is a pathological liar).

It'll just take some getting used to.

LOL that happened a lot to me when i wasnt an experienced cleric yet, i'd be healing ppl who didnt need healing cos i thought their pet was attacking them. but all pets will have the person's name before the pet name, so that's what i look for.

and in regard to this topic, no the new change doesn't bother me, actually i think it helps because it's like a huge note that says "this person is too far away for you to do anything and you should have noticed" lol.

if you haven't noticed, the hp and mp bars on the squad list have a delay on them, so whoever needs healing loses their hp for almost a second before you see it on the squad list, and a second is plenty of time for someone to get killed. it's easier to just pay attention to what's going on in front of you and judge for yourself who needs heals.
