    Dear Frankie,

Thank you because you've made it wonderful all these while.
Thank you because you've improved it since as far as I can remember.
I can't believe anything else ... posted or otherwise.

I'm curious about this. As posted by Kritty:

Frankie has nothing to do with any of that. All of those calls come from the higher-ups, all he does is relay the information.

So.. please enlighten me, how has he made it wonderful exactly?
    How has he improved it?

I'm sure some examples would be more than likely to generate the thanks being asked for here. feel free to demonstrate any and all, but if as we are told, none of the blame for any of the issues can be attributed to Frankie, then by sheer logic, the reverse is also true and none of the credit for any of the good things can be due either.

    Doesnt that naturally follow?

Thanks guys, you did your job.

I am all for praise and gratitude where it si due, but thanks for what exactly?

Curious too as how you know the "guys" did their job.. you apparently know something that they refuse to reveal. What IS their job?
Curious because I have asked many times for a description for exactly who is responsible for what, but apparently you already have that information.

From what has been said so far, that job has nothing whatever to do with any of the software or its positives or negatives. It is simply to relay (an extremely small amount of) reported issues and to update us on what is being done.

The second element, updating us, can hardly be described as a job well done, when a fix intended to be applied within a day is not even mentioned for a further 8 days.

As for the first element, relaying information up the line regarding issues, who knows how well that is done? What percentage of what is reported or raised actually gets logged and assigned to be resolved? Impossible to know because very few issues receive any kind of acknowledgement at all, and even then, I have yet to see more thn ahndful where it is stated that the issue has been sent up the line.

There is no measurement of the service provided, no customer surveys, no feedback on changes collated. If the service isnt even measured how can anyone possibly claim that a good job is being done?
You cannot assess how successful a service is if it isnt measured against pre established goals.

Forgive me for not understanding the logic here, but usually when someone breaks something, does not do their job, does a slow job or bad job, they do not get thanked, they typically get fired, terminated, or at the very best demoted or reprimanded. In what kind of bizarro world does this kind of nonsense get "Thanked" or rewarded? This is one of many reasons I no longer play. Call it QQing if you want, I call it common sense to thank people for accountibility and not praising lousyness. If someone gets the act together around here I may someday return, until then I will just pop in every other month for the lulz.

He gave us an update on the item pages, they have it working now and they're doing testing. The goal is to have it enabled by tomorrow, just in time for the weekend.

A little more time you say? The original statenent was for one day. Eight days later, after no update, no commentary, no acknowledgement and contemptuously ignoring page after page of posts, we get another flippant statement with a one day forecast.

Just in time for the weekend? - translation: just in time to be 8 days more than the one day I told you the last time I could be bothered to respond.

Delays occur, errors are made, people are human. Most people can accept these things with some grudging, reluctant calm. What is unacceptable though is failing again and again and again to even acknowledge peoples valid concerns and deliberately keeping them in the dark as to what the latest development in situations may be.

Even a simple statement to the effect of "I have asked again today for news on the progress of this but was unble to obtain a new forecast as yet" on a daily basis would have shown an element of giving a damn.

Given that the fix was intended to take one day, an update every time the fix is overdue by 100% of the forecast is the least you could do.

Over 8 times what was stated is a ridiculous period of time to have been given no news at all. Even the laziest least caring, most incompetent person is capable of copying and pasting the statement of having asked again each new day and received no news.

That would have taken but a minute or two at most, assuming you actually did bother to try and find out what the forecast was in less than the 8 days it took to post again. Maybe I crediting people with too much sense when I assume that an update was pressed for each continuing day of failure.

Thanks Frankie and GMs. Those of us who play a lot have seen it go down with the big pushes. Your work is very appreciated-and wow-what a difference a blessing makes! You don't realize til it's gone-LOL. Will be happy to have it back.
    Thanks again

@kondor: Urr did you read the original posts on the pages/sending?
    kondors wrote: »
Firstly it wasnt broken in the first place. Dont fix what isnt broken. Software is modular and the modules for item sending worked fine beforehand.

Secondly, it is common sense practice not to remove something that works until you have ALREADY produced a working replacement, far more obvious and lesser impact would have been to simply keep what worked and delayed the "Free gifts sending". Better to take a relatively small delay in the arrival of something you are yet to have, than to remove something you already had that worked.

    And..
Update 2-15-2012: We are currently unable to send items to players, meaning that the DQ shop/facebook connect blessings/token shop/etc.. are not functioning correctly right now. This also means that the Launch Giveaway at the Descent teaser site (http://pwi.perfectworld.com/descent) is affected as well. We're working on the system, and we'll get it back up as soon as possible, after which the Giveaway items will be sent out.

From what this says, it means that the pages worked, but nothing would send. Meaning even if they were still up, no one would receive a thing. Henceforth, they took it down until the sending feature could be fixed.

They took it down for launch, well, guess they broke something in the process.

We'll get the features back when we get them back. No sooner, no later.
There's no point in being uppity over it. I'm honestly just glad that it's being worked on.

It did work beforehand hence him saying get your stuff in the next 45 minutes before we break it (take it down, my bad).

Yes it works when it wworks, well done. Updating people is courteous, informative and shows a degree of customer care.

Saying nothing for 8 days is just contemptuous. That is the point, not how soon it gets fixed. Community manager? Communicate.. after all we have established that all you do ir relay information, so relay it to your customers.

As for being glad that they are fixing it... you know this how? For all we know someone looked at it on day one, and went "mehh I'll look at it in a week...or so".

We dont know because the information isnt... whats the word? ohhh yes, relayed!!!!

Also... so that someone updates something.. it is now 1900 on 24th and it is still unavailable.

Personally I wish they would remove all blessings from the game and never let us get anymore. Blessings are completely idiotic. Just another way for them to make money via charms because people die more in TW or tank more in TW thus burning more charms.

"It's confirmed, the launch gift will be sent out starting early next week.

We've been bringing the item-send pages back up and the systems seem to be working fine. For those of you who are still waiting on items from these pages, please give it a few hours, since the system was so over-taxed earlier.

    Thanks!"
