Is it worth it to start? Can newbies enjoy the game?

Can you start a game and enjoy it? I mean I don't see any people online, can you get people for your FB, quests, HH 1-1 and stuffs? Can you make money to buy charms ingame? Is that even possible?

Before charms were 300k now how can you afford a charm if you're a newbie?

It's just my opinion, but I think it would be better for a newbie who isn't going to invest a lot of cash in the game to start on a PvE server. Archosaur is fun, it's a smaller server with quite a few new faces running around. Raging Tides and Sanctuary are also good choices, they have a lot of veteran players and some large, well-established guilds.

I see world-chats for FB19/29 etc. a few times a day on Arch.

On PvP servers, as soon as you hit 30 you become bait. You're forced into PvP, and with the number of Rank9 +12 sins running around, getting anything done anymore without help from a high-level character is virtually impossible. I have a Rank 8 +10 psychic on LC, and he gets his *** handed to him regularly. People there spent a lot of money to get epic gear, so you can thank them for PWI... I think LC all by itself probably has the dev salaries paid for the next 20 years. b:chuckle

Grind and NPC DQ items (DQ31+, higher level items give more DQ points, ranging from 1 point for DQ31 to 35 for the highest level ones) and when you have accumulated 50,000 DQ points, you can (when the dqrewards page is back up) trade them in for an item that gives 50 event gold. With event gold, you can get bronze and silver charms without spending a cent and, indeed, having earned a fair amount of coin in the process.

It's harder to make friends questing than it used to be with the near-death of open world questing (though a lot of friends can be made doing bounty hunts at 40+), but watch world chat for factions recruiting your level.

Yup, you can enjoy it and learn to play your chara well. Actually there is some quests that helps you to level up faster.
Lucidsilver npc to reach lv20 faster, crazy stone after lv30, Bounty Hunter BH after lv40+ Louchmur quests.
You can join a faction with all level and try to get helped for the FB quests.
Make in -game money for charms depends on your hability to merchant -farm, but as low lever you don't really need charms, for lower levels normal pots are more cheap than a charm. Otherwise the supply stash box gives you some pots-charms.
Move to a PvE server is a good suggestion.

id reccomend coming to archosaur for starters.....lots of newbies running around....a pretty good economy (as good as it gets lol)...no pvp so its not too demanding (but cause of the glitch im sure every pve server has greifers running round, the non legit ones are getting destroyed though, slowly)

but yeah, archosaur is a good place to start

Thanks for all the suggestions! My friend likes PVP, I was considering a PvE server, I think most of the time you find more mature people there to have a laugh/enjoy the game.

Actually all of you are from PvE servers if I'm not mistaken.

Are TW still up? Do people even try to get territories? I tried a few of them back in 2010 and it was hella fun, but I'm not sure now if it's even possible :P

Why even bother starting this game now with several good releases approaching, seriously this game offers no "content" until your level 100, so have fun being bored till then if you do start.

    Decide it for youself
Some servers are damn near empty (From what I hear), it can also depend on the time.
If someone doesn't want to do it, you'll find someone eventually that's just bored or feels like being nice. Or you could just be all girly and make the guys do your bidding.
Lowbies don't even need charms, there's no purpose. Charms are for comfort and to assist high levels in solo'ing. It's just a tool of luxury otherwise, much like the land mounts. b:bye

I like to be competitive and be on the edge of new things, I don't think I can do that when everyone is 105 :S

new players can enjoy the game, buti think u have to be more patiance nowadays to play cos bh will take forever to get a group together if you are lower lvl. and regular question to lvl at lower lvls would take way long cos not many newbies around to squad up with.

    Ha Ha !!

The irony in this post is beyond hilarious !! b:laugh

I mean... wasn't it not that long ago that the rallying cry for QQers everywhere was that this game offers no content once you reach 100 ?

But oh.. now its changed to... "this game offers no "content" UNTIL your level 100" ?

The irrationality of some of the whiners in these forums beggars belief !! b:shocked

I know there's content, but if there are no 60-70 to **** around, how are you suppose to get your gear... yes, you can buy it, but if you don't train, you'll never know how to get by in most situations, you have to die to learn

The only people that are 105 - or maybe 103+ for that matter - are the ones who did the Dragoon glitch in FC. There's no need to worry about other players unless it's PvP... b:bye

Edit: Derp, forgot you wanted onto a PvP server b:surrender

A good portion of the people on this forum are extremely negative and exaggerate a lot. Remember, they come here to either troll or flame.

If you start now, yes, it's viable, and yes you will have fun questing and meeting new people. Money is not as "easy" to come by as it was in the past, but there are ways to make enough money to get by until you are higher level.
