i start the client and it says fails to enter game

    it looks like i have to reinstall the game, if so im a miss out on the mount sale because of the freaking patch

    Have you run verify yet from the launcher menu?

    Had this problem too, traced back to a visual c++ issue.. Download/install this worked for me

    How about 2010? It doesn't seem right to downgrade from 2008.

    Iunno.. that'd probably work. I lazy moded it and just got the first distributable I came across.

    If only there were some sort of support group that could comment officially on how they'd prefer we fix it......... Oh well, I'm sure the money is better spent researching just how to put together the next pay-to-win packs instead of into quick responses for support.

    I'm so soooo grateful to the kitty that found the fix for the "enter game fails" error. I reinstalled and repatched client all day. He's a life saver tysm! So whoever has the enter game fails error with everything ok and no other pop-ups during/after patching install the Microsoft Visual C++ . It worked for me.

    Well, the pic u have posted shows that u have the oldedst version for the patcher... Please upgrade it and try again, if not, then apparently there is no fix for that error

    I've been playing since shortly after the servers came back up. My patcher only updated to the Descent version about two hours ago. I haven't had any issues playing so far on this system. Pretty freaking strange if you ask me. I didn't even notice until it told me I needed to update after loading it for the 20th time.

    The known solution for the OP's issue atm is to update your Microsoft C++.

    1) You need uninstall the previous Microsoft C++ before install a new version

    And here was my problem cuz i only installed Microsoft C++2010 then with only this thing, my computer keeps given the same error of the beginning . "enter game fails"

    Well, i tried Turning off the Firewall and my Antivirus when Enter game fail even after installing directx9.0c and microsoft c++ 2005, and that worked for me! Hope it does for u guys too b:victory

    I try to enter the game, it says "Enter game fails", how do I fix this? I'm trying to verify it, yet it has taken 30+minutes to reach 15% finished -_-. What do I do?

    i have same problem and cant fix it! getting crazyQQ i had to format pc i reinstaled xp sp3 and pwi didint work! now i instaked again pwi with microsoft visual c++ 2005 and directx 9.0 c no antivirus firrewall off and still show me "enter game fails" and when i try to open element client it says "this application has failed to start beacause the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstaling the application may fix the problem"! i miss pwi pls i need a hand of help here cant fix it!Ty

    finally after few hours of checking i installed DirectX Software Development Kit from here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=6812 and now its working! DirectX SDK, which contains the DirectX Runtime and all DirectX software required to create DirectX compliant applications. That was what i missed!
