Help!:invisible characters

I just downloaded Descent (SUCH A LONG TIME!) and i started it up and i see invisible characters. i turned up all the distances and they are still invisible. i can still see the SPFX though. Please Help!

i did read the sticky and it did no help to me

Yeah I'm having the same problem actually. I go to download it and it says a Cabinet File is missing, or something like that.

Try updating your C++ runtimes.

i know that just download directX and it should run fine
