higher lvl i am (25 only atm) more and more my "glacial walker" (same lvl as me) losing aggro (im 9/1 build) even when i cast "roar"... now i got "shadow ranger" which is best dps, but he is too low lvl to test yet... my question is: does "shadow" holding aggro better due is DPS then "glacial"... "shadow" have slightly less HP and Def tho...

Hi there eldmorg79 !
The Dark Wanderer is indeed a good DPS pet although I'm a bigger fan of the Varicous Scorpion myself ( the scorp is the one you can get at the beginning lvl's where you have to choose for the wolf or the scorp). There has been much debate about these 2 pets but I think the ending of the topic was that de Dark Wanderer did slightly more DPS then the Scorpion when he's not using skills but just attack while the Scorpion has slighty better DPS then the Dark Wanderer when using skills. So the choice is up to you!
But dont forget, you need a tanking pet as well and for that the Glacial Walker is the best free tankingpet you can get. Without one of those you wont be able to solo as much cause a Dark Wanderer/Scorpion cant take bosses cause they lack the HP and DEF to do so.
When you're tanking bosses with your glacial you'll need to heal him anyways so then 'normally' you shouldn't get agro from the boss since your more focussed on healing your pet instead of DD'in yourself.
So if I can make a suggestion: You need'em both. So get yourself a DD pet and a Tanking pet and you're ready to embrace the dangers in PWI!
Hope this helps abitb:cute[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Hi there!
Edyn has given good advice already, I just want to add something. From your description it sounds like your pet uses roar when fighting mobs. Roar is mostly meant for taking aggro, not keeping it. When used, Roar resets aggro and adds a set amount for your pet. It usually isn't enough to keep aggro for more than one or two hits from you. For keeping aggro on your Walker you should have Icicle on auto-cast on your pet and only use Roar when you have taken aggro and want the pet take it back fast.
The Dark Wanderer will keep aggro better if you teach it a damaging skill like Bash or one of the elemental variants. It does have a pretty good physical defense and HP and it's attack is indeed pretty good, too. What it doesn't have is magic defense and even though it's hp and defense are good the Walker will have better defenses and HP. The choice is mostly up to you if you want a better tanker or a better damage dealer.
As Edyn said, you might want to get both. Having two pets leveled up is hard, though, and focusing on one for a while might be good. I mostly use the Walker but I do have the Wanderer as back up but not quite up to level yet.
Anyways, hope I could help.0 -
If you raise the pets attack levels and maybe add another attack skill (flesh ream is good) it'll help your walker hold agro from you. In fact, I've unlearned roar on mine and had icicle, tough, lightning and ream and he still keeps the mobs off me very well.0
