Update files Corrupted

Read through a few pages of this forums seen nothing similar to what I am asking, so do not flame me.

I have tried to DL the manual patch several times, also tried the patcher, before I go and uninstall the game and do a totally fresh install, how do I fix the Update Files Corrupted error I keep getting every time the game tries to update, elementskill.dll.

Anyone got any suggestions. b:angryb:angry

Edit: I tried the whole ctrl alt delete the element client, yea that just shuts the whole dam process off. So anyone got a better suggestion.

    Re-read that one again and tried it....yet again.....but it still just shut the whole process off again. uhhhg least they are doing before the weekend so they have a few days to work this **** out lol.

    I have added your problem and a fix that might work. You might reinstall the whole game, that's the only fix known so far.

    What did you do exactly so I can update my thread with a possible fix? Was it just the Ctrl Alt Del thing?

    cntrl+shift+Esc goes straight to task manager, I did the exit element client once, it crashed out the whole process, i tried it again it failed x3 more tries, so restarted my comp and did it again, and it didn't fail. So i have no idea what is going on, back to reality for the next few hours I guess.

    Had the same problme, and ctrl+alt+del --> task manager---> Processes---->close elementclient.exe does indeed work. Don't know why a shadow one was opened while updating, but this solved it right away.

    update directX version 9c, it fixed the error message for me. hope it helps.

    Well mines working now, without updating directX, my comps fairly new and i do media editing so my direct X is fully ok.
