APS not nerfed after all?

Has anyone been able to observe the advertised APS nerf? I tried gradually increasing my APS and didn't see any point at which my damage or accuracy decreased. Is the "APS nerf" sin-only perhaps?

    I switched targets before and after getting to 5 aps

    Same Hit % chance.

    (Also didn't noticed any damage reduction ijs)

    maybe they just wrote down tht **** to make ppl believe tht they're really gonna nerf aps which in fact they are not.
    so no one would even notice since they only said -5%.... conspiracy? xD

    could be an unseen change on stat page like attack / def bonuses ... ya there's a listing for it .. but you dont actually see a change in your normal stats

    I went from 2.22 up to 5.00 aps sparked + unsparked without seeing any decreases.

    I just made a damage test on a mob
    (I took a couple of screenshots at 4 and 5 aps)

    4 aps average damage(Not counting critical attacks) = 1685,7
    5 aps average daamge(Not counting critical attacks) = 1628,6

    Try it with level 1 fists or barehanded so any variance in damage will be obvious in the damage report numbers?

    Barehanded its 4 aps max I think,fists have more stable damage but not enough str to equip gorenox...

    Edit:gotta try with lv.1 fists after all ;o

    But this mob its spanking me e,e

    Hard to do that,any piece I unequip lowers my base attack,so won't be the same

    Only piece that doesn't its armor but it has -0,10 interval and Im not going to spend 50k for the -0,05 one e,e

    "Surpassing 4.0" doesn't mean 4.0 and up, it means that only 5.0 is affected.

    Based on my damage test with lv.1 fists I didn't see any nerf
    (Only with daggers :o)
    Try on Ancient Sea Dragon? Lots of HP to burn through, no attack back.

    I used the Tideborn Traitor the small ? boss with 100k Hp near Raging Tide city

    essentially if your 3.33 and demon spark you will see your accuracy go down as well as the attack difference

    10 & 8 hits is not a big enough sample size to really say anything, fwiw from a guy who used to do statistics and sampling for a living.

    Once a player surpasses 4.0 attack speed, whether passively or via a buff, they will incur a -5% damage penalty as well as a -20% accuracy penalty.
    Surpass = Rise past/above. Ergo, surpassing 4aps = 5aps only.

    Not that any of this matters because this nerf does virtually nothing anyway (if it even does exist). I wouldn't even call it a nerf. A "tweak" to aps, maybe. But even that's putting it generously.

    this is how it works fellas.. im a game developer for another game. if they do the math correctly in what there TRYING to accomplish.. this is the math prove it to yourself people just try it don't bug out before u even doit period im tired of the lameness when thats the case..

    3.33 = 5 sparked <obviously>

    3.33 at regular stats = damage dun <obviously>

    now for the easy part...

    sparked 5.0 max damage and etc etc. this is where you subtract the %'s people not before spark...

    1) you will NOT see it go down.. reason.. you dont know what it would be before hand unless u took a pre-expansion screenshot, period.

    2) it will NOT go DOWN damage or down att% from a 3.33 to sparking to 5.. reason your not taking away from 3.33 your taking away from 5.0 after the spark. <who woulda thought damage would go down from 3.33 to 5 ap hmm... anyway not gunna happen.. 5 ap will always be stronger then 3.33 <another obvious>

    3) point being ... nothing gets taken OFF untill after the spark. meaning, taking %'s off 4-5ap ONLY as stated in patch notes.

    4) total outcome - your 5ap isnt gunna see a decrease from 3.33.

    yes im glad u quoted that word surpasses becuase in the game world surpasses means that and above when u reach THAT number uve surpassed it. thats just commin from a game developers experience ijs :)

    Im not even sure I'd even call it a tweak in PvE if my accuracy math in the BM forums was correct. PvP it makes a definite difference however - sucks for 5.0 sins, zero issue to the rest of us.

    4.0 vs 5.0 with the nerf means 4.0 is 16% dps behind 5.0, as opposed to the original 20%. They closed the gap by 4%.

    And this is just math from the wiki and pwidatabase. Im looking forward to seeing if I can find a difference tonight.

    DPS = DPH (including nerfed or not nerfed) x APS
    Example with average 2k damage per hit:

    5aps: 2000 dph x 95% (new nerf) x 5aps = 9500 DPS
    4aps: 2000 dph x 100% (no nerf assume) x 4aps = 8000 DPS
    4aps even if nerfed: 2000 dph x 95% x 4aps = 7600 DPS
    3.33 aps: 2000 dph x 100% (no nerf) x 3.33aps = 6660 DPS

    Isn't that the basic calculation? That's assuming that high aps toons all have high dex therefore aren't really missing hits to worry about accuracy.
    Therefore 5aps still better, because the 5% damage reduction doesn't outweight the aps increase.

    This is all interesting to read while I'm at work waiting to go try the patching process.... Thanks to everyone who is posting progress on the stuff they're testing out!! :)

    You're looking for meanings that aren't there. Or are you telling me that game developers observe arbitrary differences in meanings of random words as their own sort of lingo? And if so, are you also telling me that this same in-house lingo can magically reach us through poor translations of half-finished patch notes?
