    New Class Skills and Existing Skill Balancing

    Easily one of the most exciting aspects of the Descent expansion is the fact that all ten character classes will be receiving brand new skills. These aren't your run of the mill new skills either -- we're not talking about a second heal or another DoT, we're talking about real game-changers; things like Archers gaining the ability to cloak and Clerics gaining the ability to lay waste. In addition to these brand new skills, there will also be balance changes to currently existing skills. Tactics and strategies will no doubt be changing when Descent hits, and players will have to adapt or be destroyed.

    Might still get the rebalance to our aggro skills.
    Knowing PWI though... I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Dragon extinct: only usable on the ground, atk target and all enemies 20meters around him, deal 50% base atk dmg, has 50%-90% chance to disable their fly mount, deal triple dmg to air targets.

    Fighting Rake: force your target to target on u and cannot switch target for 6sec.only available to players.

    Immortal soul: self buff, last 120s, once taken deadly hit, u wont die, and will be immune to dmg for 6sec, but during this 6sec , ur hp is decreased by 99%.(if you are taking some DoT dmg, )

    Prehistoric blood: self buff, 60sec, each time u take hit, your attack is increased by 3% weapon value, can be stacked at most 50 times.

    Crown-less King: deal base +100% +1200 dmg to all targets 12meters in a frontal line, attract aggro.

    Yan Mie Dragon extinct: only usable on the ground, atk target and all enemies 20meters around him, deal 120% base atk dmg, has 60%-100% chance to disable their fly mount, deal triple dmg to air targets.

    Not sure this is as awesome as it seems because we already have a couple damage multipliers going into our attacks, this will only be another x 1.5 base weapon damage (after 50 attacks, which can be almost instant in large pulls but may never happen in pk).

    So, lets assume i have 350 strength and +8 rank 8 axes. That's an average phys attack of about 9k, with my weapon value averaging 1759. With the x1.5 weapon damage increase would take me attack up to about 11.6k. I doubt this would affect skills, also.

    It's nice, just doesn't seem amazing.



    And I think Fighting Rake is a pk only, where players have to target you. ie, saving your catacleric.

    Crownless King looks like a weaker version of Firestorm, but hopefully the "king" in the title refers to it as being a tiger skill since we can use more aoes in tiger form.

    Immortal Soul looks like a slighlty more punishing version of Deaden Nerves. The phrase "hp will be reduced" makes me think we wont be healable during the 6 second damage immunity period because our max hp will be 1/100th of our normal hp. Basically "you died, but you have 6 seconds to kill or be killed."

    Dragon Extinct looks almost specifically for pk since its such a weak attack. Less for damage (50% base damage, ewww), more for disabling fly mounts. And I hear the chance to disable the mount is soulforce based. It does have good range, though. I can see this as being alternated with Untamed Wrath since they both have nice ranges to prevent heal aggro.

    you do need to factor in the sage/demon versions of axe/hammer mastery and spark im sure holding aggro will be much easier when your hitting for a metric asston along with infinite chi on big pulls from beastial rage

    Well all i can see is that they won't fix old aggro skills nor give us some aggro boost. And only one new aggro skill? And with all new mystic support skills i bet clerics will also become buff babies. Let's see... from older classes only bm is hanging in there (maybe archers but still archers shouldn't be allowed to use claws since they are designed for range weapons if you ask me). Such a pity...

    Dude, did you actually read the Mystic skills? Most of them are support for DD and Def - not heals. Do you really think an AoE res buff will replace clerics? Seriously?

    Mystics and clerics make great partners in squads - there's no real reason they should be opposed to each other, when they compliment each other so well.

    BB + Herbs = How can you make anything safer?

    Im not a barb - but the thought of any barb knocking me out of the air & doing triple damage from the ground is rather frightening when you look at it from a TW perspective, especially if its an already killer APS barb.

    I used to LOVE Air Squad cause I had the most freedom to do what a Mystic does best in TW - create chaos. But when Im ready to TW again, this could have me preferring Catakill squads. Time will tell.

    From older classes, barb, cleric & BM are ALL hanging in there, and as needed as ever. Dont curse those beautiful buffs barbs and clerics have been given, they ARE what keep you the Golden Children in the game. b:victory

    Why are so many in this game always QQing about someone else replacing them? Ive read where as a Mystic, Im replacing literally everything with the exception of maybe a Sin. LOL...kai yeah that's happening... >.<

    LOL... in PVE (where claw barbs shine), I can't imagine a boss hitting you 50 times before the 60 sec timer runs out. You'll probably have to run into a bunch of mobs first (no such luck in Nirvana) to make that skill worthwhile. Also and as mentioned above, getting hit 50 times in PK is never guaranteed.

    There is no mention of it. The only thing that is mentioned toward balance is

    Balance

    Attack Speed changes
    Once a player surpasses 4.0 attack speed, whether passively or via a buff, they will incur a -5% damage penalty as well as a -20% accuracy penalty.

    Seeker
    Saber Rattle no longer costs Mirage Celestones.
    Krav Maga no longer costs Mirage Celestones.
    Seeker damage skills have had their damage output increased slightly.

    Mystic
    Mystic pet summon skills have had their MP slightly lowered.

    Got Berserker's Rage earlier from my Cleric alt in Corona.

    My impressions:

    Looks great, you shoot out a blue spiral disk at the mob, and when it hits it, it explodes into a bigger blue spiral disk. Try it on a big target, and the whole area explodes with blue. b:shocked

    Tested the skill out against my cleric alt, it has a chance to disable their flying, which is funny, and inflicts a status ailment so they cannot fly for 30 seconds. Oh, and does triple damage as you probably know by now.

    You can't use it in the air which sucks, but oh well.

    I can see it useful for those annoying harpies in FC runs and any flying mob. I can see it have PvP uses too.

    I think its a great skill, for the cost, which was 500K coins and spirit to learn, and 15 Influence Points and 35K-ish coins to buy the book.

    As I said, holding aggro from an aps player is useless, you'd make the run slower/unstable cuz of aggro switching.

    I know sunder takes 2 sparks, so does armageddon. We got plenty of aoe's both in tigerform and human.
    I can use sunder, surf impact, switch to human, use demon beastial onslaught for the extra critrate, and then armageddon on bm's heavens flame.

    I learned how to hold aggro, by squadding up with higher lvl dd's, keeping me on the edge and trying to hold that boss/those mobs from them. This was pre tideborn, and I'm sure it would still work today.
