Ode to the Cube of Fate

I can feel the caffeine coursing through my veins,
Filled with bravery, there is no need to hesitate,
My Badge of Duty secured in my hands,
I enter the infamous cube of fate

The cold stone lobby is a familiar place to me,
With the catshops scattered all around,
Dice tickets for sale, do-alls and crab meats,
A sense of confidence that you won't fail

The first place I land, tombstones roam around
And yet for some reason they call them mice,
Kill of a quick ten, then onto the next round
Any other room will suffice.

Roll the die and take a chance, Axis blocks my path
Hitting me for nothing at all
But for 30 minutes he survives my wrath,
Before he finally falls.

The dig these chests for a golden box,
Fulfill your destiny,
But all I get is a Sadness card,
There is no Ecstasy.

Quicker still the rooms fly by,
Until I land in jail,
3 minutes of just sitting, wondering why
So many people fail

Counting Apples as they fly all around
Then just making a wild guess,
Luck was with me, on to the next round
I passed another test

100 second stand EX almost got me now,
The flaming spears pointed at my gut
But with pots and spark and a little luck somehow
I think I may survive it all now, but..

Just as I wonder what could ruin my streak,
Confident I could handle what would happen next,
I felt my joys turn to grief
As I land in Dragon's Gate EX.

Room one is sight I know so well,
A room filled with loathing and hate.
Curse you, curse you wandering bugs,
And the demonic cube of fate.

    And reminding me the time I did 32-35-32-35-32- to finally die in 38 after 15 minutes wait in the jail rooms...

    Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle

    I think I've done the cube a few too many times :D Originally I was just saving up my own Sadness Cards. Now i have faction mates mailing theirs to me too, just to help and add to my collection. We joke that I'm trying to save up 1 million so I can trade it for an Ecstasy card. :D

    That's a pretty awesome poem but I get killed by people more than the puzzles :/ I'd change that one line to 'then a sin appears with a spark' and that's the story of my time in cube. lol. Nice work.

    Ty. :) With me, it's not the hands that get me, it's normally some random bug that grabs me before I can activate the die now. Even pulling as far into the corner as I can, where the die says "Not in requested area", those lil buggers still seem to be able to get a bite on me every time.

    I need to invest in OFF insect repellant, I think :D

    What a great read!


    On a side note, 38 really isn't very hard :p If you pause about 3/4 of the way across the diagonal, you can HP to the NPC just fine with no bug aggroing you. I mentioned to someone once (while in that room) that there was no need to IG across it, and he got really uppity with me :(
