*VERY* ticked off over Stash Box changes

Ok,i know i've been out of the loop on a number of issues lately, because real life has 'interfered'. but i get on the game when my health allows, or come here to read and comment on posts when i can. so i am aware im not up to date on all the new things or changes in the game, though i try to keep track of the important ones.
so, the day before yesterday, i was playing here with my kids, using my mystic, and ta-da!, she leveled up to 50. my son presented me with a hammer, and i opened the stash box, looking forward to the beautiful blue sword....and was utterly aghast to see that someone had decided to put a timer on it! WHY?!????? that weapon is supposed to last for at least 10 levels...how the bleep is anyone supposed to do that in the few days allotted on the sword?? and where am i supposed to find another weapon as good, when the time runs out? i've been looking on the AH for gear/weapons, and there is NOTHING for anyone in the lower levels. where the hell can anyone get stuff they need? I have played this game from the first months, and still have that sword, and so does my cleric. and there are times when it is still useful to carry, as a backup weapon, when extra channeling is necessary.
WHY was a timer put on the lv50 stash box sword (or timers on any weapons, gear, etc for that matter) ? there is no logical reason to have done so...those of us who have played the longest never had any problems with having items from the box without timers. its bad enough that we have to buy a hammer to open the bloody thing, but to find the sword has a timer on it, and a chest of one million coins that needs yet *another* hammer to open, well, i was furious, depressed and utterly at a loss as to what to do. with nothing to buy on the AH to replace it, not able to get my blacksmithing level up high enough to make a replacement, i dont know what to do.
And i want this stupid timer taken off all Stash Box weapons. It is not fair to players, especially the lower level ones, who are already dealing with that timed armour. This business with the Box is going too far. Please take care of this ASAP? Thank you.

It's been a year now. No one knows why it changed. It will probably not change back, no matter how you QQ.

Most people just use the wheel of fate until TT60, ijs. Cheaper than a hammer too and you can resell it after you're done with it...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well I think we all agree that for the cost of the hammer, timing the reward is a bug.ger of an act, but on the other hand, you're the first person in a looooong time I've heard of even wasting a hammer on that supply stash - everyone just dumps it at 50, or like me hangs on to them all for the miraculous 'free golden hammer' promotion which will never happen.
With BH, CS and a few quests jumping from 50 to 60 takes no time anyway, so why worry about it - then you can get a cheap TT60 weapon - with the proliferation of 2x promotions over the last year, TT stuff is very cheap now.
Also did you remember the hidden quest for level 50's at the 1k stream elder and where are you on the Goshiki Chain. Seriously you can get from 50 to 60 in 4 to 5 days if you go slow. If you FC you get there in a couple hours,0 -
Are people still stupid enough to actually open the stash boxes beyond level 45? That's new to me b:surrender
Anyway, if you've been playing since the "first months" of the game you'd know for magic weapons there's: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/8312. It's about as good, there's hardly any noticeable magic difference between the two. And for the money you could've gotten by selling the 5 gold you could've bought 3 of the glaives, or to compensate for the difference in m.atk with the money you could've gotten you could have refined the weapon to be even better than the m.sword you get from the chest. You're on HT just as I am, right now this very minute in AH there's 2 pre-made weapons and 1 mold for the glaive, the mold is 2.4m and the made weapon is at 3.5m, at the same time gold is being bought for 1.5m and higher in AH which would've gotten you 7.5m coins.
I'm sorry but for a supposedly old player, you really have no clue what you're doing if you're still opening the boxes beyond level 45. Have a nice day.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Wheel of Fate is available at level 50? and how do you get it? certainly not on the AH...i've been looking there for weeks. i have several other alts that i've had to abandon, because i have not been able to find weapons or gear for them. when i first started, it was easy to get good gear on the AH, but now, there is nothing there, except for the highest levels....why?Xainou - Sanctuary wrote: »Most people just use the wheel of fate until TT60, ijs. Read my post that I edited, there's 3 of them in AH right now...
You know you can filter items in AH by name, right? I mean after all you've been playing this game since it's first few months |: Just sayin'[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

lol as suprising as it is i agree with foxrunning...i mean ya opening the stash at 50 nowadays is kinda a waste but pretty much wats being said here "without being said" is that fox is one of the rare people that still actually likes to play the game and have good gear even at 5x....
instead of everyone trying to powerlevel to 9x-10x.....and not give a **** about gear until then.....
if she wants to gear up her char and actually play the game then i respect that...wayyy to rare nowadays and its sad...
example just to be funny.... "hey bro wat quest are u on?"
"quest?? im in frost payin people to play the game for me"
"hmmm...."0 -
Apparently PWE doesn't think 90 Millions a month is enough to they got more greedyMystic: 99 lvl (Main)
Psychic: 96 lvl (Alt)
Assassin: 78 lvl (Retired)
Cleric: 75 lvl (Retired)
Big bumpy ride since 20080 -
idk why they did it, but spending 5 gold to open a box to get a 7 dat weapon is beyond rip off.0
-
ya lol...at least back in the day when it didnt have a timer it was actually a damn good weap and worth getting...well at least for me 2-3 yrs ago as a BM....dualhammers were awesome0

Been that way since the genesis expansion launch. If you use the search function on the AH, you can find it faster. Just make sure you use a capital letter as the first letter when you search. I just did this on my level 10 newbie on your server, and found a +3 2 socket, already sharded with flawless gems (although for some bizarre reason they are citrines) for 3.5 mil coins. And a mold for 2.8 mil coins. Both of those totals are cheaper than the 5 gold for the hammer. In addition I think you can get it with mysterious chips, and I know for a fact you can exchange your divine orders of light for a free one. Also, the newbies are darn lucky for that timed armor. It's very good for it's level and the old newbies were stuck with npc armor which they can still get.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks Silvy for the superb sig

State of the game now, even if you wasted 5gold opening the stash at 50, that timer is not even an issue for the majority. You are long past its usefulness before the timer is up. Without FC or Oracles, even. Just do the Goshikii chain and the 1k hidden quest at 50 and *boom" you're 57ish (i forget exactly how many levels that gives you). Throw in a couple bh's and maybe a heads room or 2 on top of that......
yeah some people play it old school and level slower, but a large portion don't bother even opening this box and if they do it doesn't matter coz they out level it so fast.0 -
They have added a real nice way to get some mid level gear for free in the game. Just south of the disc in arch across from south bank is the divine order of the void. He will offer quests that you can do to get Orders which you can exchange for some nice mid level stuff. The only downside to it is the items can not be traded, and the quests can only be taken an hour after completing a bh. You can take as long as you like doing the quests, but must pick up the quest within an hour of completing any bh1. Not all the quests will give an order tab, most are just kill a mob of 15 or 20, but some (blue and purple quests) are bosses that give the tabs. Usually its a bh boss thats easy to get a squad for. There are several tabs available that can be converted into the tabs you need to get your gear.
Hope this Helps

yes, i suppose i would be considered an 'old fashioned player'....i do my quests, and grind for my money/drops, and gather herbs for pots. why would anyone want to pay someone else to level them, is something i cant comprehend. i came here to play a game, both in solitary quests and in squads in FB /TT instances. that, to me, is what PWI is all about.
when they first came out, experienced players were disgusted with 'oracle babies'- players who found ways to buy stacks of oracles for Wicked Pirate and such, and level on those, which didnt give them much experience in learning how to actually play their character and class. why would anyone want to rush? then came the EXP stones....even worse, another way for folks to fill the pockets of PWE, and cheat their way up. another situation of people wanting to rush through what is a game intended to take time, to be enjoyed. there are still people here from the very beginning, who have not yet finished....some things are intended to be taken time with, to have fun with.
i appreciate the suggestions that some here have offered, and have been hurt by those who prefer to ridicule. BHs are something that venos without hercs, only golems, are not welcome at, which is why i never am able to go. and as for the glave, i went to 1k Streams, and could not find it, only the level 80 glave. guess she is stuck with the one she got after the Vriddis quest.
i have submitted a ticket, but expect no answer...none ever are.b:sad[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

This past summer (on Dreamweaver) my veno had no problem getting BH squads from levels 40 to 70 using my Walker. I got my Herc at around lvl 80.
Not once in all the times I have asked to join BH squads has someone asked me what pet I have. Yes because so many go the FC route, finding BH squads can sometimes take time.
Find something you can do profitably to pass the time while watching WC for BH squad LFM messages.
Shop around, not just AH, but catshops too, Just take 10-15 minutes each day, you might be surprised at what you find.0 -
Fox is a really nice person. Yeh she might be a little "delicate to handle" but that's no reason for people to ridicule her =\0

I believe if you have an account stash, you can take one of the swords you already own and stash it over to your mystic. If all of your characters are on the same account, the stash stone is (IMHO) well worth the cost.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Fox I have never seen you say anything you like about pwi its always something you dislike so really why do you stay around?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.0 -

I agree with the others... It sucks that they put a timer on the weapon, however wheel of fate (lvl 43) is a really good weapon too. I personally used that on my veno from lvl 43 untill lvl 60
And you can sell it afterwards :]
If you start the tideborn quest you should lvl up pretty fast through those lvls, not to mention it has a very nice storyline b:cute[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I just tried looking at AH, try searching AH #8446868. It's Wheel of Fate, unfortunately it has no buy price, so you have to wait until the bid time is over..[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
