Hi guys, I'm quitting WoW soon and I'm thinking of playing PWI again over ****. It's been a while however and I don't know what the current state of the game is. First and foremost, I was hoping you guys could suggest which of these classes (Blademaster, Assassin, Seeker) I should play based on their performance in the following areas:

1) PvE - I prefer to DPS but I'm not adverse to tanking either
2) PvP - I'm looking for good mobility and damage
3) Questing - Soloing ability
4) I want to use either Swords, Blades, or Dagger style weapons and nothing else

Any other advice you guys could provide that I didn't ask about would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Moon left out a few steps.

    1) Power level assassin to 100+
    2) CS your *** off to buy awesome gear
    3) Rule PvE and PvP

If you want to level slowly and enjoy the trip, well, assassin's squishy until level 60+ when Blood Paint starts to return enough health to make up for being a light-armor melee type. But then they start to do enough damage they pull aggro off of almost any other class on bosses, and end up dead because they're still too squishy. End game with awesome gear,

Seeker has it rough in the teens because of the abundance of mag-attack mobs in the quest areas. They have low DPS except for when they are using Vortex (constant AOE skill) which uses an insane amount of mana... but if they can maintain it, they tend to pull aggro off most other classes, but that's okay, they're heavy armor and have self-buffs for extra defense levels and can (usually) take it.

Blademaster with sword/blade isn't that great, or did you mean fist/claw instead of blade? Usual paths of specialization are axe/hammer for AOEs and fist/claw for DPS (once you have significant -interval gear... fist/claw are the fastest weapons in the game and benefit most from -int.) A 5APS permasparked blademaster is second in DPS only to assassins.

bm for decent end game without having to speend 'too' much time.
sin for best endgame with spending a lot of time either farming/merching.

Are Assassins glass cannons in PWI? I'm kinda over that design from my many years of WoW. Also, when I last checked out PWI (I believe it was after the release of Rising Tide), the general consensus was that Assassins are more of a "control" class rather than DMG or whatnot. Is that still the case?

I mean, I've killed plenty of people in a stunlock in WoW but this design doesn't work as well in group/mass PvP.

they are highest dealing class PvE wise.
That is to say end game.

Mass PvP, wizards shine and stuff.

If you have a really good assasin, you can do anything in the game.
They can tank just about anything and deal the most damage.
for PvP they are good but doesnt take much skill to pvp on an overpowered assasin.
but dont get me wrong, assasins are excellent for getting kills.

Haha thanks, I always seem to go back to the Assassin/Rogue class it seems. Do you know of a good current guide I should follow? I don't know if RauI's guide in the Assassin forums is considered up to date.

I'm pretty used to following "optimized" builds/strats from years of WoW.

The one thing Assassins aren't good for is mass PVP (like TW).

Blademaster with sword/blade isn't that great.

People don't look at but sword BM's are still useful in a way. 59 sword skill is still currently the most powerful single BM skill we have(until update comes out then that might change) also our first 29 skill is useful when fighting with magic classes or magic using mobs. with the way the game is now sword BM's are more support than anything else.
All generalizations are false, including this one.

Hm alright, guess I'll go with Assassin then. Do you guys have any server recommendations? I've got an old Lv20 character with a small amount of coin/mats on Heaven's Tear, but unless everyone AFKs/sets up shop in another city now - Etherblade was pretty empty when I just logged on. A server with a larger economy and deflated economy would be good since I'm virtually a newbie.

    West Arch is catshop central.

All the servers have pretty similar economies. Pick one with good ping.
