FAIR WARNING: The bottom of this page and all of page 2 is scary as hell! If you want the info for your specific gear and grade level, it's (mostly) there, but you'll have to dig.


I noticed a few people are interested in just how the new PvE gear will compare to what already exist.

So I'm going to do my best to show everyone where it stands. I will only be doing the Heavy Armor for the simple fact it's all i care about as a barb, lol. But it should be enough to see where this new stuff stands.

By my ASSUMPTIONS, Force means strength, constitution means Vitality, and Level of Real Magic means the special +Def Levels pertaining only to PvE.

I'll let an archer do the math (Asterelle where are you), but those defense levels might actually do more than the extra defense the TT gear adds. I don't know though, figuring in buffs as well.

In either case, I'm sure it will put it close enough that unless your APS and worried about the interval, the differences will be negligible. Also, considering the new gear is free from quests at 95, it could be a great cheap alternative to TT99.

Since the new weapon only comes in poleaxe flavor for the axe/hammer weapon category, its a little faster.

TT99 has an extra 395 - 641 attack over the new weapon, but the new weapon has a whopping +45 PvE Attack Levels. Again, I'll wait and see if an archer wants to do the math to see which one fairs better, lol.

TT99 has an extra +1% crit over the new weapon.

TT99 has +16-17 Vit, compared to +85 HP. The +85 HP is static on all classes, but the vit isn't. So a BM would get +240-255 HP and a Barb would get +272-289 HP. Either way, TT99 gives way more HP.

Now it gets interesting...The new weapon gives an insane +82 PvE Defense Levels. Added in with the Armor and thats +100 Defense Levels....wtf...Well in any case, im sure all that extra defense more than makes up for the minor benefits the TT99 has.

Does anyone know/can prove if this new PvE Attack and Defense levels only apply to NEW content? Or existing content as well? Because, well, +100 defense levels seems a little OP for current PvE content.
And at the same time, if it only works on new content, does existing gear stand a chance there? Anyhow, that's just speculation on my part, feel free to enlighten me if you know.

    This is all pretty pointless. The only important ones are the 100 and the other ??? armor. Neither has any info on it.

    Actually, this isn't pointless. Not everyone is compelled to have the absolute best. Some people settle for TT99 as end game gear, so giving them a comparison of it and the new gear helps them out.

    Also, I have the stats for the 100 (G13) and 101(G15) gear as well. I'll post it when i have some more time.

    And just in case anyone is wondering. The G12 gear is free at 95 via a quest hub in the new zone.

    The G13 gear drops from a daily dungeon. And the G15 gear is the product of recasting the G13 gear with mats obtained at the new Orders which can be obtained my spending merit earned with these new Orders via daily/weekly quests and events.

    ^Maybe they will be nice enough to let you exchange something for the gear at the end of the quest, letting you choose between Heavy/Light/Arcane.

    I too am curious as to how its special PvE Attack/Defense levels work with older content (if it does at all). It'd be amazing to have that kind of power on both the Mainland and the world of Morai...

    It sucks they don't get interval, but maybe a new hat/boots are in my future for more attack levels.

    in my opinion this armor will just turn out to be like the OHT armor, pretty to look at, but sucks otherwise. people will probably just get it to look cool running around in but not use it as real gear.

    or those people people that dont CS at all, pve only, then they may have some benefits out of this armor. if it is only through questing, then i think its pretty nice that they put in some type of gear where you dont have to CS to afford or spend an eternity farming (even with the lower defenses... which are even lower than tt90 x-x). but we'll see.

    The way I see it is this :

    "Maybe" the defense levels and atk lvls vs mobs will do a difference, still needs to be tested.

    I also see it as perhaps a "Cheaper farmable alternative" to tt99, remains to see how much work and farming it is to get those.

    Don't forget, not EVERYONE is rich as hell in this game and some still have trouble finding squads to go tt 3-x for their mats, maybe it will be easier for them to find squads to farm that new gear (Or might even be something farmabale alone). We know one of the sets is in one of the new instances, but maybe the rest is obtained with the merit/contribution towards forces..

    All in due times...
    Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle

    I wonder how great this gear would've been if we weren't spoiled with free 30 attack levels/15 defense levels. Or the extreme ease we can get rank 8/9 and dragon orbs.

    I was thinking..and kinda too late to edit my post..

    New mobs were created with integrated atk/def levels higher then normal.

    Let's state a "possible" exemple (THIS IS PURE SPECULATION) :

    New lvl 101 mob : Atk lvl 50, Def lvl 50 , would gain a serious advantage over "normally" equipped people (Not talking about R8/R9 here). Would maybe make our "normal" weps and armor feel like attacking them with a toothpick wearing paper armor.. To that extent, the new gear could play a more important role...

    As for effectiveness vs other "normal" mobs (In Delta/Warsong etc...) that does remain to be seen, but think about it quick..New weps have 45-50 atk lvls vs mobs ? Add to that a Jones blessing and u are near 80 atk levels now...That's not even counting if u are a psy with voodoo on...or shard yourself in atk lvl shards...

    Proud supporter of the new expansion. Sure it has it's share of bugs, like any games. But for a pure farmer/grinder, that's a whole lot of new mobs to go beat up b:chuckle

    These attack/def are just for PVE against the mobs. Not working in PvP. And I also think, this is lame idea to have armor for PvE and another for PvP. b:beatup

    I take it you're not a BM Player. This is normal to most of us. I use three different weapons combo'ed with APS and R9 gear switched in and out depending on the situation. In FF I change gear more than someone with ADD on a sugar high changes their mind.

    It's really not too tough with hotkeys.
