Online hazing, do words have consequences?

This thread is meant to have some purpose, its not meant to be turned into flame online war, or anything similar. Decided to post it even if it has zero attention but if it reach at least one person i will trully be happy.
This recent experience I had did kinda leave some influence on me and my way of thinking; I've been a part of a discussion board, forum, onlince society, can be called whatever. It was also meant to be a nice place for people of different cultures to debate on many different topics, from cooking/gaming to current political situation worldwide etc
There was a young girl there, could say she was smart, clever for sure, beautiful on the outside, cannot say much for the inside as i did not know her that well; person would say she got it all there is to get. Sure, she was far from perfect, she was touchy and fiesty, had some rather extreme views that would eventually got her in trouble; talking serious topics here: abortion, religion etc. All of these touchy subjects were discussed daily. Over the time, her flaming, and if there was a flame drama maker she was one got her on the wrong side with many members; did not like her either but it turned into something i often see onto these forums as well. Many members were ganking on her and online bullied her, some did it often with an excuse: 'it is just TEH internets!'. What most people do not realise it IS internet but its an alive person with feelings on the other side, some of us including me are not so touchy and can hardly upset me but I am the same way in the real life, then you have very touchy and sensitive people that can get seriously hurt even tho it is just an internet.
You do not know who is on the other side, and what kind of life they have. Turned out this girl's life was far from ideal, she was in a very bad material situation, forced to move into another country where she had no friends etc, some people find escape on internet, maybe try to make friends, fail etc does not matter, she had problems and in a way her act was a cry for help, attention, love etc She commited a suicide at the age of 19 if i am not mistaken; I am NOT saying anyone hazing and bulling her online is guilty for that, but one thing i am sure off, it did not help, humiliating her online would often burst her in tears judging by few people that knew her, it surely did not make her feel any more accepted on this entire ****ing earth which she needed badly, and yes, she was often not nice, but, do we really have to act like an animals even to such people? Let alone couple of girls that did bully her only because of petty jealous cause of her looks and that she did get attention from a lot of guys.
I see lately and over last few years many people get traeted the same, some of them I so do not like in game either but I do not have a petty need to harass them in this manner, do you not like someone? No problem, Blacklist end of story - ignore them? Don't be a petty bully because, eventually, you will get the same treatment somewhere, maybe you already did etc some are treated bad so they do the same to others, thats not an excuse, how many of us had a perfect life so far?
****, if someone asked me 10 years ago what I think my life should be by now I'd have 5% of it right, everyone have problems and issues, so please stop saying it is just a game, it is to you maybe but it may not be to the other person, hazing and harassing them may hurt them for real or add to bad things they already have in real life, just ignore if you cannot help or don't want to try not to harm them. I will literally listen to everyone's problem and i cannot promise to help anyone but will listen that much i can promise, and even if i did throw some spiteful comments before which I don't think suits my personality at all which players that know me can probably testify from now on i won't for sure. Beautiful young person lost her life, how many more emotional breakdowns or even lives gone do we need to start acting live civilised humans?
Just think about it, and try to lower your macho 'im so cool bro' **** to a minimum cause in real, you probably really not, cause cool people do not pettily bully weaker than they are, it could be your gf, brother, sister, daugheter, mother? that gets picked on, lets think about that too.
Peace and thanks to the ones that managed to read the rant until the end

Yes, i am feel sorry when i hear cases where people goes suicide because internet bullying. b:sad
But people should realize that internet has become free realm to unleash many things without restriction or risk. Everyone was in different situation and position, creating many different responds to what people say in internet. People from certain place will 120% anti idea such as abortion or atheism, but there also people who support or didn't even give a damn. There people who release all their built up stress by using internet free speech to make people suffer, simple thing but a fun things to do.
Many people are ignorant to other people condition
EXAMPLE : " Oh, another one died in street ", " Lol, pathetic suicide ", " Ha ha, they died for nothing ", " Stupid people, giving charity to those poor loser. ", " They deserve it ", " They had it coming ", " FAIL ", " Convert or die "
The moment people enjoy other suffering, they feel adrenaline rush a sudden burst of excitement. Unlike what written in book, human are sort kind of expendable in people mind.
By the way of world flowing this day, it better to just follow society and wait for the right moment to do extreme things that goes again majority flow or " normal people static common sense ". Or prepare yourself to be bombarded by anonymous harsh word, threats, and many unthinkable things...
Always look around before posting, look at people comment to certain post that you want to sent. Use search, it your best friends to avoid many suffering in internet...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Why do people always blame these issues on either internet, gaming or both?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Try reading the post again, maybe you understand some things when you read it the second time. And if you don't, you may want to refrain yourself from posting.Viking Pride b:cute

Wasn't talking about the story in your post specifically, just these issues in general are always blamed on the internet.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

On the other hand, like you said, the internet is a form of escape and relief. That escape and relief can take many forms. Repression of real life problems can, and most certainly will, have effects on how people conduct themselves online. The door swings both ways. The girl could/should of realized what forms people on the internet can take. It's sad, and I'll repeat that, it's sad, that you can't come online and expect the same respect and courtesy you can while at a restaurant or on a train, or in an elevator, because the fact is, the body is not involved. The body is not at stake, shown, and in being so, it is not held accountable. That lack of accountability/responsibility is, to many people, escape, and relief. From the lives they live, from the bodies they inhabit, from the issues which berate them to and from their jobs and relationships.
The fact is, until people can healthily deal with their problems in real life, they will continue to exhibit the behavior aforementioned. This is ultimately a very vicious cycle wherein people simply exchange bad energy that slowly becomes more dangerous. Although, your post is aimed at a very concise and simple solution, the reality is in in reality. You are not asking people to change their conduct online, you are, by extension, asking them to change the conduct of their very lives. Unfortunately, the internet will continue to be an outlet for such energy and behavior since it is so entrenched within our nature at this point. The wires and phones, electricity and wifi sink deeper and deeper into our psyches.
Welcome to the future.0
