Hi I'm crafting level 2 weapons but my progress bar doesn't move. I purchased skill from elder and have made about 6 level 2 items but the bar has not advanced at all. Do I have to by books?

uhm are you sure you're crafting the right thing?

For example,to level your blacksmith skill you need to craft weapons, while for levelling tailor skill you need to craft armors...

If that isn't the case, then make sure you're crafting the right level item.
For example,if you got lv.3 tailor you need to craft items that needs the lv.3 tailor or your proficency won't raise.
Don't confuse this with item's level requirements, read which level of tailorship/blacksmith/etc the specific item requires need to be crafted.

Hi I have been crafting level 2 weapons (about 5 or 6) and the exper bar is still white there is no green at all. When I was doing 1st level the bar moved a little every time i made something. I'm sure it was level 2 weapons I made.

Im pretty sure I've written this already,in case you missed>>

Level of the weapon has *nothing* to do with the process.

What you need to craft any weapon which requires your current weaponsmithing level(Or whatever its called).
If your blacksmith level is 2 you need to craft things that requires level 2 blacksmith, the level of the item itself has nothing to do with that.

Level 2 weapons train level 1 blacksmithing. To train level 2 blacksmithing, you need to make level 3 or 4 weapons. (I recommend making level 3, as some of those (e.g., polearms) only require level 1 mineable mats, leaving your precious mob-drop level 2 mats for making level 6 2*s for the annoying crafting quests to get the level 4 skill books.)
